LEGO released the official set description for the Combat Frigate a few days ago. It is $109.99 USD and the official release date is on August 1st. Unfortunately there are no official pictures on the website as of yet.

Here's the official set description from shop at home:

Imperial forces are on the hunt for Ezra and his rebel friends aboard the Rebel Combat Frigate. If they’re forced into battle, get into position with the lifting handle and fold out the wings. Then load the spring-loaded shooters, arm the stud shooter and fire! Can you fend off the Empire’s Agent Kallus and escape to safety? That’s up to you…

  • Includes 4 minifigures: Ezra Bridger, Agent Kallus, Ahsoka Tano and Commander Sato, plus Chopper Astromech Droid.
  • Features foldout wings, spring-loaded shooters, stud shooter, a useful lifting handle and removable upper cover for easy access.
  • Remove the top and play out adventures within the starship.
  • Grab the lifting handle and make-believe you’re piloting a real starship!
  • Fire the weapons to act out exciting deep-space battles.
  • Weapons include Ahsoka’s Lightsabers, Ezra’s Lightsaber and Agent Kallus’ built-up blaster.
  • Also includes a wrench accessory element.
  • As featured in the Star Wars Rebels animated TV series.
  • This set offers an age-appropriate building experience for ages 9-14.
  • Rebel Combat Frigate with engines closed measures over 4” (12cm) high, 14” (38cm) long and 5” (14cm) wide.

I have been wanting a medical frigate for a long long time so this is the nearest i will get to it. A definite buy for me.

Also, please can everyone try to refrain from discussing the cost of sets and minifigures etc. The pricing structure of most licensed sets has increased quite a bit in the last few years and it's just something that we have to accept, thanks for your understanding :classic:

This thread is inundated with discussion of the cost of sets and minifigures. Can we open another thread for that discussion?

I am absolutely sick of always coming here and reading all about everyone whining about the prices, and then having the topic locked. Can you all stop it now?

I'm going to get the set because I don't have any of those minifigures and I really want adult Ahsoka. The ship is good but not the best. I will add it to my Rebel fleet or my Republic fleet.

If you want to complain about prices...start a thread where everyone can voice their opinion.

You want to talk about LEGO's business methods and your belief of how they price sets...start a new thread.

Oooo. A wrench accessory...

They now apparently think an age-appropriate building experience is some kind of cool feature of the set and that you should be thankful that it is included as well. These descriptions are becoming weirder and weirder.

I'm hoping for a great engine design on the Frigate. I'd hate to see the additional engines in the wings that Phoenix Home has being left off as I cannot seem to locate them through the seems of said wings on the main picture.

I know, the descriptions almost seem like they're being written by a third party.

Well they basically are. The people who build the sets are not the same people who determine prices, make the box art, take the pictures, or write the set descriptions.

While as builders/collectors it may be more interesting for us to see them including info about the new techniques or the great parts being used--that's not necessarily something that will help inform parents or buyers about what's specifically included. That's how we get things like "includes a wrench!" or my personal favorite, "Also includes a cat" in regards to the 60's Batcave.

This isn't quite the 2017 thread but I think these new curved pieces on 10252 Volkswagen Beetle could be good on a new Slave I, Jango specifically.

Wink wink much? Hahahaha. Awesome find, it's part of some of the redeeming scenes of EP II too and has incredibly only made once!

He'll probably come with the episode 8 sets in 2017.

Hopefully in a not-too-large set. After seeing The Force Awakens, he's the only character I want in LEGO form...so I can put him next to Gollum and have an Andy Serkis LEGO Shrine.

Imagine that as a minifigure in a set. It would have to be the size of the Lego clocks.

Or he could just be ordinary minifigure size

I'm just disappointed he probably won't have a molded head, at least it would have made him a bit more unique
