Richpepperell Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Hoth bricks have lots of images of the rebel combat frigate http://www.hothbricks.com/2016/07/lego-star-wars-75158-rebel-combat-frigate-images/ Quote
Forresto Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 The inside is very bland. No fun computer panels or anything interesting it seems like besides maybe the chairs and trans blue "windows". Quote
Richpepperell Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 It's an easy miss for me. The thing is, I don't feel the set itself is too bad, it's the timing of the release. This time of year used to be slim pickings for new sets and if welcome something like this. Now however, it's only 8 weeks later that we'll get some far superior-looking RO sets followed almost immediately (fingers crossed by the Death Star. Then only another three months until the first 2017 wave. I for one am going to have to start getting more selective rather than just picking up entire waves. Quote
Kim-Kwang-Seok Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 The Malevolence didn't have that bad of an interior, and neither did the 2007 AT-TE (I can't speak for the new one [yet] ). Don't mean to compare the mentioned sets. Would be unfair. It's about the lack of knowledge, detail & creativity that goes into the interior. Despite the smaller insides of the latest ISD - the amount of available space is still decent. The "furnishing" however was just very uncreative. Felt like someone just moved out I moded it so that there's a machine room (with a hyper drive comparable to a warp core), Vader's private room, officer's room & a "big" stormtrooper room. The back part of the Malevolence was sacrificed for structure. They could have also used the space for like (mini) vulture or buzz droids. Moding is fun - just a shame that the designers don't really try.. Quote
General Magma Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I guess they weren't ever planning to fix Ezra's skin colour, but I can't believe they couldn't even be bothered to correct the colours on the Agent Kallus minifigure... Quote
JekPorkchops Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Or just give Ezra a new face with 2 scars. In this age of new content, we're missing out on that too. Quote
benderisgreat Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) Just like I thought Rebel Frigate is horrible set! But unfortunately I will have to buy it for Ahsoka minifigure, she is such a great minifigure I'm prepared to pay full price. But looks like this I will use this set as parts pack. Kim-Kwang-Seok Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 And that right there is why they can get away with being completely sloppy with a set... It's Ahsoka To be fair: The original ship is like 3 times larger than a normal blockade runner - of which the last model had about 1.400 pieces & sold for 150$. But there's no excuse for not updating Ezra. Plus I find the lack of detail on Anakin Skywalkers apprentice most distburbing. Just wait for the set to go on sale - it will, especially with RO sets comming.. Quote
legobear Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) Rebel Combat Frigate 75158 is TOTALLY lacking interiors. Lego city helicopters have more interior than that. It's a flying brick. Edited July 19, 2016 by legobear Quote

Aside from the lack of a new mold, it's an amazing figure. The problem with the set isn't the size either, if you ask me it's mostly the color scheme. The thing is crawling with dark red despite the color never even appearing in the original ship. The design itself is pretty decent save for the interior. An improved interior and color scheme would do wonders for this set. Quote
jhaelego Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 The combat frigate is Imperial Assault Carrier part 2. Quote

ChiefPie Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I'll pick up the frigate regardless of size. Besides that I don't have any of those minifigs and I want the Ahsoka even though she needed a new mould. Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Arg with this set and the ro sets I might have to sell more organs Quote
eldiano Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 So no Death Star? I know it will come when Lego decides, but it's always funny when people speculate when it will be released. Quote
benderisgreat Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 And that right there is why they can get away with being completely sloppy with a set... And what should an Ahsoka's fan do in this case then? Say :"I want that minifigure so badly, but it's a bad set, so I won't buy it just to teach Lego a lesson"?! No that won't change anything! Unless exactly Zero people buy it , Lego won't change anything about good minifigure+bad set= sales Quote

That goes for about 75% of today's lego star wars releases. Edited July 20, 2016 by firefox Quote

She ain't less detailed than her latest CW version - but the oversized Lekku covers a lot of that detail. dual molded arms would have helped a lot. Well, TLG & colours... Quote

I don't like to support companies that steal Lego designs and make them in cheap, poor quality sets. Yes Lego might have become too greedy recently, but they are still the best, and I will support them. Quote

Unless exactly Zero people buy it , Lego won't change anything about good minifigure+bad set= sales I simply pointed out the issue. I didn't make any judgement on the guy for it. If he wants it enough for the Ahsoka fig, by all means, it's his money, just as I spend my money on what I want. But his exact words spell out exactly why TLG can get away with being sloppy with such an expensive set where more should be expected on an interior. FYI, I really want a captain phasma and Kylo Ren minifigure, but I struggle to justify *myself* (not necessarily for others) spending that much on sets I find simply 'ok'. YellowCorvette Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 The problem I have with the interior of the Combat Frigate is ther's isn't that much thing that you can do with it aside from storing the minifigures from missing. At least with the 2016 Clone Turbo Tank, you can still store the AT-RT walker included with the set inside the tank and with some modification, you can store at least 2-3 Clone Trooper minifigures in the tank.
