Have the prelims leaked online??

I usually don't get hyped so much for some mere prelims since they don't offer the final product but I want to have some idea of what the sets will look like.

Eurobricks welcome your new Count

Not yet. If you look a few pages back, I've posted descriptions of the sets (I have images) so those might give you an idea!

So i haven't been keeping up with these lately, but there's not much I'm interested in, the stormtrooper pack and obi-wan fighter sound ok, but other than that ehh. I'll wait until I see em.

For those of you saying you wanted to make a regular Ep. 7 X-wing...

But there are no rubberbands and therefore this must be photoshopped. If the wings could work without rubberbands, the Lego would have done it. :p

On a serious note I noticed the black intake parts and the landing gear change between modes, so I wonder if the wings actually do work without adding parts to brace them. Rubberbands are an eyesore.

It's not photoshopped. Not using rubber bands has been done before. Mike Psiaki's amazing X-Wing uses no rubber bands. TLG is stuborn in their ways and want all four wings to deploy at once. That's why they use the rubber bands. The only X-Wing they made without rubber bands was the first one, which arguably has a better wing system than even Poe's X-Wing or 9493.

I totally agree with you, there is no need for automatic and simultaneous wing deployment.

You're joking, right? The original X-Wing's wing system (like most other aspects of the original Star Wars sets) was awful. I'd trade mine for one of the newer ones in a heartbeat if I could. Having the four wings be able to move in unison (as opposed to clicking into position individually) seems amazing to me, as I'm sure it does to a huge number of other FOLs both young and old.

I own 6212 and the mechanism is also awful, it takes ages to get the wings in to attack position, 75102 is a massive improvement.

I just think that having them all deploy at once is a pointless feature. I have no issue with clicking them into place. If there was a better way to make them deploy all at once, I'd be all for it. I just don't like it with rubber bands.

You do realize it is a toy, don't you?... Kids think (I know mine do) that it is super cool feature and they love it. If feature considered great by kids is in your opinion pointless in A TOY, then you're obviously missing the right perspective...

Oh, by the way: I love those connected wings too! :)

I also make a another version of my T-70 MOC, but without any rubberbands attached on the wings. I think the 7191 and 10240 wings system is the best by now. Of course I think it will be amazing if TLC decide to deploy their minifig scale X-wing wings using the similar solution like on the UCS X-Wing sets like 7191 and 10240, but I think it's imposible because of the limited space.

I quite like the wings system on the current minifig-scale X-Wing sets now like 75102 and 9493. The rubber bands sure can be break but as a play feature, it's awesome for any TFOL and most of the AFOL.

The 9493 was the set that brought me out of my dark ages, after not building a Lego model for about 10 years I was amazed at how far things had progressed. One of the stand out features for me was the wing deployment system, I couldn't believe how cool it was to have them all snap open and closed at the twist of a piece.

Interesting tidbit from CapnRex101's review of the Millenium Falcon on brickset:

Finn is one of the most important characters in The Force Awakens so it is a shame that he is only included in the most expensive set. However, I happen to know that he will appear in a much cheaper set in the next wave so try to resist paying the exorbitant prices which are being charged on the secondary market at the moment if you are not intending to purchase75105 Millennium Falcon.

Not much of a surprise, but still good to know

So he's in either the

Battle of Takodana or Pirate Transport. Do we know their respective prices?

Also, I wonder how he knows this information.

What about the Tydirium set?, its wing deployment is totally manual, but my personal taste is just that, personal, I mosty display my sets and modify them to disable some play feature that I dislike, but what I dont like of the ruber bands is the fact that it bends the bricks of the wings and when they are closed they flap when you move the vehicle fast, I prefeer simple and sturdy solutions, I am not a fan either of the tendency of rising the sieze of the ships but dont take me wrong, I am not trying to make change your points of view.

Back on topic, I am impressed that there are still going to release episode II and videogame (BF) sets, that is good news for me since I am not onboard of the hype train for the new trilogy.

same here, I'm just not liking the designs. Maybe some of the new ones will interest me, but beside that, is the obi-wan fighter the red one from ep 3? I'd like to see that put out.

Is the list here legit: http://makingstarwar...-name-revealed/

And if so, is it safe to assume Anakin's Jedi Interceptor will be released in red as Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor? I like the yellow one so I guess I should grab a box before year end or something, in case it goes OOP.. (How many Jedi interceptor kits will we have by the way, 7?)

Yep, it's basically the 2014 one in red.

I don't recall a Rodian (Greedo) head in a set, only Bossk's as a stand-in for the Ughnaught.

You said that there was one in the Battlefront BP prelim

So are the rumors of February Rebels wave of sets are true? Or we are just getting Kanan's speeder in January wave? Personally I'd love if we got more Rebels sets: new inquisitors, Ahsoka and old Rex. Hope we won't have to wait until summer wave.

About that rumored december wave that was mentioned previously,is it true or just a rumor??

Which, Bespin Freezing Chamber, Obi-Wan Starfighter, Droid Escape, all that? True.
