nymmerod Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 (edited) The final version of Jyn looks pretty good, definitely buying the U-Wing set just for her. Btw CM4Sci where can I find the full picture?? Will she even have that printing in the set? The face is probably the same. She's wearing a poncho that covers the chest piece, but it looks like the same part based on color. But the pants don't look printed and there is not a hairpiece like that but a helmet. Edited July 21, 2016 by nymmerod Quote

I'm sure the hair will be included in the set as a second option to the helmet. As for the leg printing, the pictures we've gotten so far are small and kinda blurry so a detail like that can't be spotted. Richpepperell Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 It could be we see something interesting this weekend after all when this display gets unwrapped http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/07/20/lego-for-kids-and-grown-ups-at-san-diego-comic-con-is-that-star-wars-rogue-one-hiding/#.V5DiJ3JL7TQ.twitter Quote

ChiefPie Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 It's possible that the brick built death trooper is in there. Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Nobody said anything about it, what're you talking about? It seems some people on other sites are saying Lego did shit job on prints for Ro, I don't see how. Quote
Brickr Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 At a COMIC CONVENTION, what else would you expect? If it was called SDNC (nerd convention) then I think we should expect a lot more SW! Ha, love it, you and me, we gotta set that up... SDNC! Quote
General Magma Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 I still don't really understand why they didn't give Ahsoka dual-molded arms. Superhero sets are getting it - at times more detailed, even - but not Star Wars, for some reason. It's not like it wasn't necessary for her. The figure, as it is now, looks great when it comes to the other parts, but the arms look really bland and don't really help to represent her outfit too well. I hope they'll release a figure with dual molded arms in dark orange at the top and dark bluish grey at the bottom so we can still use that on Ahsoka, but I'm not sure if that's anything one should expect... Other than the fact they know we'll keep on spending regardless... Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Just wondering, was that statue that was all boxed up, taped up, and hidden ever revealed? Was it the Death Trooper? Quote

Darth_Brick360 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Well, I am even more excited about the new Death Star if that information is right. I wonder if the updated minifigures in the new lego star wars game are previews of what we will get in the new death star. Leia needs an update. Quote

The quality of the DC and Marvel minifigs (& sets) of late is starting to make me feel like TLG are genuinely taking the piss out of Star Wars Lego fans. Quote

Kim-Kwang-Seok Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=137835 Some pics here - just imagine as much detail on figs as Sabine, Ahsoka, Rex, clones etc... & don't tell me armprinting ain't possible. They did it for Wookiees & Maul, but not for Ahsoka?! Besides; we got like 15 times more hairmolds in the last 1,5 years. Quote
HawkLord Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 I half feel that Lego and WB made a special arrangement to offer that much printing. I don't think there's a set in that price point that has ever had so much minifigure printing. The other thing to remember is that Lego knows (as does everyone) that Star Wars sells itself. It doesn't need fancy printing to sell sets. In fact the Star Wars license has some of the worst minifigure per dollar ratios out there. Compare the Star Wars Eclipse Fight for $30 with two minifigures to the Marvel Tanker Takedown for $30 with four minifigures. That's just one example. I don't want to turn this into a price rant-post, but I'm just saying it really isn't fair to compare Star Wars to other licenses when it's obvious that Lego has vastly different objectives and limitations with the Star Wars license. For example, the Boba Fett that came with the Carbon Freezing Chamber could have been the same as the UCS Slave I. I don't know why they are holding out on it. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Well, boba fett with arm printing, is the main selling point for the slave 1. Putting him in a $25 set, would make slave 1 pointless. Quote
atlas Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 I think everyone knows that but it doesn't make the artificial scarcity of it any less ridiculous Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 Mmkay, what did Josh just tell you guys? The discussion of minifig detail with respect to the Ahsoka minifig is reasonable and acceptable, but discussion that doesn't pertain to rumored sets and their minifigs, including whether or not a minifig is exclusive to a set -- one that isn't rumored to release in 2016 -- in order to drive sales, belongs elsewhere. We have topics about the sets you want to see; we have topics about the minifigs you want to see; we have topics about which sets and minifigs are your favorite or least favorite; we have reviews of sets; we have a catch-all general questions topic; you can create a new topic if a discussion doesn't fit an existing one -- all of which would be more appropriate than this one. x105Black Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Well, boba fett with arm printing, is the main selling point for the slave 1. Putting him in a $25 set, would make slave 1 pointless. That's the argument I keep hearing, but it's ridiculous. The main selling point of a beautiful UCS set with nearly 2000 parts is the arm printing on one of the minifigures? Absurd. Relating this to the Ahsoka discussion, if these extra details are supposed to be in more expensive sets, why did Ahsoka not get any. She is in the Combat Frigate set, which I believe is the most expensive set of the wave. I'll go further, and say that newer sets like the DC sets that have been shown do not follow this thinking. They have these extra details, and the sets are well below $100. So if it can be done there, it should be done across the board. I advocate making dual molding and printing on the arms and legs the new standard for all themes. This way, missteps like this Ahsoka minifigure can be avoided. Quote
