Amazing Bricks Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 This is definitely one of the best advent calendars, the figures are outstanding. Quote
Richpepperell Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Is the silver protocol droid E-3PO? Does the Hoth Trooper have a different head from the 3 that were in Assault on Hoth? Looks to me like he has the blond beard we got with one of the rebel commandos in the tydirium shuttle (who Dave Filoni states is actually Captain Rex!). Quote
bountybossk Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Is the silver protocol droid E-3PO? Definitely him! Quote
Borex Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I think it's U-3PO because of the mini-build of the Tantive IV. Quote
bountybossk Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Ha! Never heard of U-3PO before, but just googled it and you could be right! Quote
Kim-Kwang-Seok Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 My online-shop has the Rebel Combat Frigate - hopefully the store has it too, then I'll pick it up right away. In Germany the price is really $120 - which is a big ripoff.. but Ahsoka! !!! ...At least there's 15 % off today... Quote
Dublad Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) That's the first calendar since I found out they existed (2011) that I've really liked. Although isn't there normally a random weapons rack mini builds too? Edited July 28, 2016 by Dublad Quote
General Magma Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Good to see another OT stormtrooper in there, as well. That should help bump down the BL prices a little, and the new battlepacks in 2017 even more so. I'm just wondering if the stormtrooper included in the advent calendar is meant to weed out the remaining ones with black hips, though. This year's Rogue One sets have troopers with hip printing, which means that we might see that on stormies as well in 2017. Edited July 28, 2016 by General Magma Quote

HawkLord Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 So, the silver/grey protocol droid could be C-3PO (AOTC), E-3PO, or U-3PO? Sounds like we could start a poll. Quote

RetroInferno Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Considering that the only mini build that makes sense for the droid is the Tantive IV I would go with U-3PO. Damn lil spy... Quote
Robianco Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Considering that the only mini build that makes sense for the droid is the Tantive IV I would go with U-3PO. Damn lil spy... Except for Slave 1, Bespin Guard and (possibly) Stormtrooper being Cloud City based while Hoth Rebel, Hothtrooper , Snowman, Hoth Gun Towers and Abominable Snowookie also being ESB orientated? Quote
Legocity2713 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Tantive IV, Slave I, and the AAT are really clever and nice looking micro builds. The rest feel a little incomplete imo and that Imperial Shuttle build is nothing compared to last year's awesome one. Also, while I love location based sets in minifig scale, in micro form they just don't peak my interest. Tbh, I miss the gun racks. The figures are great as always and the Abominable Snowman Wookie is awesome, but I can never warrant spending the $40 even with licensing. Maybe on clearance or VIP points. Quote
Borex Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 For dutch people that like to buy more hoth rebel troopers, there is a lego star wars magazine out with one. Quote
Richpepperell Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 For dutch people that like to buy more hoth rebel troopers, there is a lego star wars magazine out with one. which magazine is this? The official Lego Star Wars one? Which issue are you on currently - our next issue in the uk will feature Yoda's hut, followed by an AT AT in the next issue. Are you a further issue ahead of us in Holland? Quote

Well, i was with the family so i didnt had a good look at it. But i think it was some sort of holiday special because of the thicker paper used. They had also the regular magazine and that one had a probe droid minibuild. Quote
General Magma Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 The silver protocol droid is E-3PO. His photoreceptors ("eyes") are white, like E-3PO's. U-3PO's photoreceptors have more of a yellowish tint, and the droid is simply far too clean looking to be C-3PO from AOTC. So that's my conclusion here: it's E-3PO. Quote

Richpepperell Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Nah it's this : *snip* Of course! Cheers, I'd totally forgotten about this and didn't realise it had been released. Will pick it up when I see on cheap in sainsburys! Edited July 28, 2016 by Lobot : Please don't quote images, thanks :-) Quote
Lobot Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Great selection of minifigures and mini builds. Is the Star Wars price correct though - it's almost twice the city and friends sets. Don't worry Rich, according to the Argos Autumn-Winter catalogue, the price in the UK will be the same as last year (£24.99) Considering the quality of the minifigures it's definitely worth it, and I haven't thought that about a Star Wars set for quite a while! I'll be buying several of these; it's going to make a very useful army builder and E-3PO is so cute! And, I'm probably in the minority here, but I quite like Chewie; if nothing else he's a significant improvement on Santa Yoda, Santa Maul, Santa Vader, R2-D2 with Antlers etc etc.... Quote

Your right about therms builders too - Hoth Rebel, Bespin Guard, Stormie, snow trooper, even the battle droid... It's all good! Edited July 28, 2016 by Richpepperell Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Looks like both the Death Star and Train are gonna be early releases - that confirms that! I guess that means a Death Star reveal middle of August or sooner. Quote
