Hold0511 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) The UCS MF 10179 was $499 or £342 here in the UK on release (http://brickset.com/...llennium-Falcon). Gosh new figures aside, I'm glad I got my 10188 last May for £274.99....could not justify so much on virtually the same set. Edited August 29, 2016 by Hold0511 Quote
benderisgreat Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) Are you sure it's an episode 2 C-3PO or just a regular silver protocol droid? I hope it's a Threepio. Nothing is said on the box, so I assume it's ep 2 silver C-3PO. After taking a closer look at the minifigure I can see a lot of wires in a belly area, just like 3PO in ep 2. DEAD1974 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 From a manufacturing standpoint, it's probably a pretty different set. It's not without precedent; we've seen sets rereleased under different numbers before. What if they just wanted to change the number to reflect their new numbering scheme? there is no need to explain what LEGO is doing. They just do what ever they want and that is a fact... and its an end of the story... honestly if you will be LEGO, will you ever care about the opinion of 100 fanatics from the forum, if thousand or millions are buying your sets anyway ??? I was wondering where you bought it, I'm going to LEGO store today and was thinking maybe they had it out early. Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Hasn't it already been confirmed that it isn't 3PO in the calendar? Quote
benderisgreat Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Hasn't it already been confirmed that it isn't 3PO in the calendar? Everybody agreed to disagree if I remember correctly. On a picture you can't see details on the torso very well, but once you have it in hands you'll definitely see its silver ep 2 C-3PO! Quote
Bolingbroke Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I wonder if theyve learned from the past years and cranked up the production on this year's calendar. people are gonna want multiples of that. Quote

I thought it was supposed to be E-3PO to tie in with the Bespin guard. Quote
Artizan Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 It's what you want it to be! This is lego, please.. Quote
LegoFjotten Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 The one in my advent calendar is certainly going to be E-3PO. Quote
TheBear Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I think you will find it is U-3PO since it comes directly after the Tantive IV mini build. Quote
legobagel Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 "The LEGO Death Star is BACK!" Well, they aren't wrong. Quote
RetroInferno Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) Double VIP points for october and a free calendar, all in conjunction for the RO wave? Damn! Thanks Lego! Oh and CM4, you have any idea on that 20$ gift you get by purchasing the Death Star in one of the promo for the set? Edited August 30, 2016 by RetroInferno Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 K K what? Not surprised at all. K Exactly why I said K. This isn't a chatroom, guys. Oh and CM4, you have any idea on that 20$ gift you get by purchasing the Death Star in one of the promo for the set? Isn't that just the amount you'd get back in VIP points? Quote

RetroInferno Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) Nah that would be 25$. Anyhow I would be amazed if someone would buy this before the VIP points event 2 weeks later, you'd save 50$. The calendar is released october 1 though, doesn't seem to fit with the early acces. They don't round up (at least, they never have on my account). I just assumed that the promo is saying you would get (correctly so) $20 in VIP points. Edited August 30, 2016 by AncientDayz Quote
Brikkyy13 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 So they're definitely marketing it as an updated set, rather than a completely new one. Quote
nikhkin Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Is there any word on international pricing yet? Also, does anyone know if those double points will be anywhere other than the US? If they are then what's the point in buying it during the VIP period? Quote
