Has anyone seen the new picture of the tank trooper, ground crew and tie pilot knocking about? If so, am I correct in thinking that's printing, not shine on the helmet? If it's printing, is that the UCS helmet?

That's definitely printing, and you're right, it appears to be the same as on the UCS TIE Fighter pilot's helmet :sweet: So I guess the only parts of the pilot in the UCS set that remain exclusive are the printed arms

I've had a little Google and there are some movies photos of tie pilots with the silver markings. There are some mentions that these are Vader's wingmen... Potential spoilers?

Why are people scared of posting leaked figures? We not allowed to do that now? :look:

One hour!!

1 hour until the 1st of September doesn't mean 1 hour until official reveals of the sets. It could be 25 hours and be released right before the end of the day.

BrickDoctor stated that there is an embargo on the sets until september 30th . So I guess we can't post them.

And yeah, those are prints on the Tie fighter pilot helmet, the figure is the same one used in the UCS Tie except no arm prints.

*snip*

I love that hair piece for Han Solo!

I love all of those minifigures, and I think I have to get this set now that it is better (IMO) than the last one (which I did not get).

Thanks for the pics CM4Sci!

Another underside view of the u-wing at

.

It seems have a window at the front on the transport module.

That's awesome and rather unexpected. I'm assuming you'll be able to get a minifig in that space even if it doesn't look the best.

I particularly like Han's hairpiece, the Astromech droid, the new interrogation droid with the syringe, Luke's face print and the new Dianoga  The cow horn pieces in brown are an excellent parts choice, much better than the vine pieces they've used for the old version

Just seen the price £400! I mean I was expecting £350 and thought I could except that but this is just silly now. I was happy with Assault on Hoth but this just takes the biscuit. Big Ben costs £170, a whopping £230 less and has more pieces! I'm just gonna let that sink in ;(

The minifigs certainly look fantastic - the new officer does seem to be Moradmin Bast, but for some reason with a black cap rather than a grey one and a light-grey tunic for some reason.

There's definitely also a lot of subtle improvements in the design of the Death Star

Now, if only I was wealthier...

This came with press release:

The LEGO® Star Wars™ Death Star™ was a huge hit with fans when it launched in 2008 and we are excited to announce that we have made some awesome updates and improvements to this huge model! Our designers added over 200 bricks and elements as well as 3 new minifigures. This 2016 version offers a great building experience to both those fans who have the original set, and those who may be new to the LEGO® Star Wars™ universe. This is not an indication of any future re-release or set updates.

Any links towars that press release? That statement about the new set that will motivate owners of the original model is beyond silly.

It says it's a great building experience. Doesnt say they will want to pay for another copy of the set.

That U-wing lower window seems a little strange to me. Kinda kills the flow. Is that accurate to the actual ship?

And yes, the statement that the new DS will be a great building experience for those owning 10188 is ridiculous.

You can't really compare the two sets though. Big Ben also has no mini figs which we know drives prices up in sets, Big Ben is also not a licensed set which again adds to the cost, and the good majority of those pieces in the Big Ben set are very tiny pieces. The Death Star has a lot of large plates and weighs a lot more than Big Ben.

You can't just say set A. has 150 more pieces and set B. and cost half the price. There is a lot more involved in it than that. Something else to think about Tower Bridge has more pieces than the original Death Star and was just about half the price of it but I never really saw people saying the old Death Star was overpriced.

If you are only looking at price and number of parts you can do that all day. The Sydney Opera house only has about 400 pieces more than the Parisian Restaurant but cost $160 more. The UCS Tie Fighter is 1685 pieces compared to the Pet Shop which has 2032 pieces yet it cost $50 more.
