Gremer Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hoth Attack is such a disappointment. The only reason I want it now is for the turret. The Eta-2 and battle packs though... This is the first normal shock trooper in 8-9 years, right? Quote
Ceroknight Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I think other than the battle packs and maybe the set with Leia, the rest doesn't interest me that much Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 The Eta-2 and battle packs though... This is the first normal shock trooper in 8-9 years, right? This is the only OT Shocktrooper ever. Love the Rebel BP; two new torsos, a Duros head (they wouldn't introduce Chiss in such a set, especially on the Rebel side, when Chiss aren't even really canon yet), new Rodian deco... The Imp BP is okay, tho having both jumptroopers with identical prints is disappointing. Easily fixed by swapping one with a clean stormie, mixing it up some... Great to get the hat in black! The Leia set looks neat, but I really hope those colors are prelim for her. I made my own with the Rebel Trooper torso and sand blue legs... The print isn't as detailed, but the colors feel better. Love Ackbar and the Resistance troops! Hoth and Carbon Freeze, some good and bad in each. Kanan's bike looks as oversized as Ezra's... ...but to those saying "should've had a new Inquisitor", this is still a Season 1 set. The new Inkies probably won't show up in sets until Summer, unless they turn up in an unseen set for Winter. Quote
Robianco Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I must admit from what I've seen I think the sets look pretty good. Battle packs are a must and the Imperial one adds to that with the new accurate Kepi so multiples need to be bought to update the Imperial officer in the Microfighter set. I actually really like the Han Solo promo figure but I'm kind of disappointed they look like they put the same one in the set... a blue version would have been great seeing as even Hot Toys produced both a blue and brown variation of that figure. Just putting a figure that's included in the Advent Calendar and a repeat of an existing Hoth Trooper isn't exciting although I quite like the turret. As others have said I'd say it only makes sense as an extension to a larger UCS Echo Base set (should it actually exist) We all knew the price point for the Carbon Freezing Chamber and we even had a description of it so I'm not sure why people are disappointed in it... I think it actually works really well for what it is and a second set would make an almost perfect full circle platform along with giving two Ugnaughts. I'm glad Fett doesn't have arm printing although I see the Slave 1 version has been removed from the revamped B&P. As a way of Lego actually acknowledging the existence of Cloud City now let's hope it's just a starter for ten. While that may be a Duros head in the Rebel BP I think adding that to a Yularen body and adding a widow's peak hair and gold epaulettes would make a pretty good custom Thrawn. The Rebels sets look nice too... I like the ITT pilot in the grey colour is nice... and I too welcome a cheaper way to get Kanan. I'm interested in whether the Hera in the Microfighter is a variation or just the Ghost version which would leave Zeb as the only exclusive. All in all I think the smaller sets looks really good. I'm holding off on opinions of the TFA stuff until I've seen the film. ...but to those saying "should've had a new Inquisitor", this is still a Season 1 set. The new Inkies probably won't show up in sets until Summer, unless they turn up in an unseen set for Winter. I agree with this... especially seeing as we've not seen him in the series yet. Having him leak in images such as this would be a shame. Quote
darththeling Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Carbon Freezing Chamber looks great! Waaay beyond my expectations. Does it look like one third of the chamber? Somehow from the pic, it looks like you'd need 3 for a full circular chamber. Looking forward to improving and perfecting this kit. Despite the lack of overhead elements, I'm sold (x3)! The crates in Kanan's set are substantially more creative than the 2x2 crates we've been getting. I just noticed that the Homing Spider Droid set must be based on the Battle of Kashyyyk. That would explain Yoda and the Kashyyyk Trooper's inclusion. Shame the set's so awful. Interesting observation - and I'm pretty sure those homing spiders never saw the surface of Kashyyyk, only Geonosis. I always figured that after the awful initial performances of these walkers on Geonosis they were discontinued and that's why we never see them (in anything canon) after AOTC. EDIT: I just noticed the spider has the rotating turret of stud shooters. Why does the new "Rebels Speeder" look nearly identical to the Imperial ones used on Endor? Strange. It's been a long time since we've had any new images to discuss. What a relief to finally have something. Edited October 11, 2015 by darththeling Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Why does the new "Rebels Speeder" look nearly identical to the Imperial ones used on Endor? Strange. It's bigger, it's a two-seater, slightly different style. Could be from the same manufacturer but a different model, in-universe. Quote
Rune Haako Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Actually Homing Spider Droids can be seen on Felucia in ROTS. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/OG-9_homing_spider_droid?file=OG9DroidsFelucia-ROTS.jpg Quote
jhaelego Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Flickr user Taylor Stevenson says this is a rumored list for next year. Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I refuse to believe it until we get the names in November. Quote
Rune Haako Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) I hope the Geonosis Arena set has the Acklay, Nexu, and Reek in it if true. Edited October 11, 2015 by Rune Haako Quote
jhaelego Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I refuse to believe it until we get the names in November. Of course take it with a grain of salt. Thought it was interesting, though. He also says the a-wing and snowspeeder are polybags. I don't know if that had been settled here already. Quote
Gremer Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 This is the only OT Shocktrooper ever. I know, but this is the first normal style one (ie not Clone Wars or Rebels) either OT or PT to my knowledge in 8 or 9 years. Quote
michaelozzie Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Sounds more like a wishlist than actual sets we will see. Although I would like to see new Scout Troopers and an AT-ST. Will have to wait and see then. In regards to the set photos of the winter wave I'm very happy with almost all these sets so far. A great assortment of minifigs which is more important to me these days. I love the battlepacks and the Freezing Chamber with a bit of moding and enlarging will be ok. Only the Spider Droid is an easy miss for me. Quote
Jbricks Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Is Just2good going to display the spider droid next to the new Toy Shop? Lol. Battle damaged "jump" troopers disappoints me, since I was hoping for storm troopers. Even if you remove the jet pack, the troopers still have the damage, and since storm troopers all died after one shot, ... Quote
Kman860 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 The homing spider droid is literally the exact same one from 2013. They expect that to sell? Battlepacks look great as always. I own all of 'em. You could say I'm addicted. I wouldn't buy it for a dollar...well maybe for parts I'll take that to mean that Boba Fett may in fact have printed arms. Faith tentatively restored. Same I just noticed that the Homing Spider Droid set must be based on the Battle of Kashyyyk. That would explain Yoda and the Kashyyyk Trooper's inclusion. Shame the set's so awful. Very observant Just calculated how much I'm going to spend on new SW sets when they come out: 130$ and I'm not planning on getting sets that cost more than 25$! Didn't expect battle packs to be that good, and I haven't even seen ep7 ones! Great job with this new wave Lego! Thank God I'm not the only one who budgets the minutes prices are released Other than that, recolors and reissues seem to be the name of the game right now That set is the absolute worst of the reissues, add a stud-shooter, switch in yoda for stass allie, a geonosis trooper for a regular one and some regular Battledroids for the Super ones? After barely three years? 1-it's been like that for a few years now and 2-I agree Quote
LegoFjotten Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Flickr user Taylor Stevenson says this is a rumored list for next year. Sooo... The Battle of Endor, 14 or 15 minifigs in a $99 set? Geononis Arena Battle with a gazillion figs? Color me not convinced. Quote
Kman860 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Flickr user Taylor Stevenson says this is a rumored list for next year. Sounds more like a wishlist, but if it's true my wallet will be screaming come next year Edit: After a second look the Geonosis set is probably a USC, and if you cut a couple figures out of TFO SD and the endor set, this could happen...maybe Edited October 11, 2015 by Kman860 Quote
Vectormatic Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 A FO destroyer and an AT-ST? yes please! Quote
Kman860 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 A FO destroyer and an AT-ST? yes please! Hopefully the AT-ST is a significant redesign Quote
Vectormatic Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hopefully the AT-ST is a significant redesign I only have the very first AT-ST, so any newer version would be an upgrade Quote
benderisgreat Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Flickr user Taylor Stevenson says this is a rumored list for next year. All this sounds too good to be true. 2 Kylo Ren's in a year+ command shuttles one will still be on the shelves- unbelievable. But I would certainly like to get some of these TFA sets if they are true. Other than that Geonosis Arena is long overdue, Lego had a prototype version of this set back on 2002 and it never was released. Kinda hard to believe we're getting 8 Battlepacks in a year now, plus Rebels and Empire will already have come out in January as Battlefront sets. So this lost sounds more like a wish list than anything else. Quote
TheNerdyOne_ Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Flickr user Taylor Stevenson says this is a rumored list for next year. The battlepacks just scream wishlist if you ask me. They're centered around Star Wars Battlefront II, all of those are classes found in the game. Especially since we're getting Battlefront packs for the OT era in winter, I very much doubt this is something LEGO would do. Quote
markw Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Total wish list. Presuming Ewok village is still going why would they sell all the figs from it for £100? With so much material to draw from why would mid 2016 yield 4 Endor sets? Edited October 11, 2015 by markw Quote
Darth Kylo Ren Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Looking to see if YouTube had exploded with this rumor and it seems somebody already has it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yc2yfl_eP3I Quote
The-Nexu Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 These sets sound interesting, but as I can't see could someone please tell me what minifigures are included in each one? Also, could someone tell me what the rumored list of sets that apparently includes a geonosis arina is as it only seams to be an image and not in text. Thanks! I find it interesting that the droid escape isn't in these pictures. I'm probably just being hopeful and so thinking too far into it but could it be that this picture isn't there because they need a bantha mould wich would take longer to produce? I can dream. Quote
