All the other vehicles have been showcased with no features missing and all colors seem accurate. Actually if I remember correctly, it might have been in the scene with the AT-ACT's? Quote

DarthHank Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Just finished building the AT-ST and Hovertank today - both are very nice. I'm not entirely sold on the AT-ST's legs - they seem too wide, but maybe that's just a natural consequence of the larger overall size - but otherwise both sets are near flawless. I definitely will be getting the rest soon. Wasn't originally planning on getting U-wing, but it looks so nice and has such nice minifigures I don't think I'll be able to resist. I certainly agree that this is the best wave in a long time - I only got 2 TFA sets initially, for comparison. Quote
RetroInferno Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Jang released the full mini-figs lineup for Rogue One and despite getting 4 imperial sets, the overwhelming majority of figs are rebels! It's really weird to see them side by side, and he also pointed out the lack of storm troopers was embarassing. Quote

The troop bay is a little small, like really small but thats the only negative I can think of. The coolest feature is that the window on the underbelly allows for a view from the cockpit of the ground below and vice versa in a way that makes complete sense for a dropship. The U Wing also has the best use of those usually annoying missiles in a set. They integrate seamlessly and the buttons to fire them are cleverly included. All in all avery swooshable ship with great minifigures. Quote

Forresto Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Just bought the AT-ST, which is incredible, but in regards to 2016 TLG did an awful job on the box art. The photo angle they picked is so unflattering. Quote
Raskolnikov Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 (edited) I agree with Forresto. It's not a big deal or anything, but I definitely remember thinking that the AT-ST looked a bit "stumpy" when I first saw the box art. When you see it in person, though, it looks really good. Lord Sith Lego Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 US website had the AT-STs on backorder so I had to drive to the Lego store in my mall and they had a bunch in stock. End up buying two. Quote
LL924 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I noticed a couple of reviewers commented that the AT-ST does not have any posability with its legs. I built one of mine today, and if you don't start with the legs fully "forward", but rather start with each leg one click back - the head will be more level versus downward pointing. Then, one leg at a time can be pulled back 1 or 2 clicks and provide for a "walking" look. It is not too stable, but it is adequate on a level surface for a picture if desired. Quote

So I'm not the only one who thinks it looks a bit odd in the photos? I have the set but can't decide whether to build it or return it - can't help thinking that the lego at-dp is the better looking model (heresy I know!) Edited October 7, 2016 by belkor Quote

Personally I find the AT-DP a better looking model too but it only shows up in the animated series whereas AT-ST shows up in the official movies and is more iconic. Only real problem I have with the current AT-ST model is the size it is way big especially when comparing it with the last AT-AT set. Hoping Lego release a UCS version of an AT-AT now. Quote
Crabr Brbel Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Just to let people based in the UK know, that the Daily Mail is giving a voucher away tomorrow 8 October, to get 30278 Poe's X-wing! Voucher can be redeemed at selected stores. I have been watching this model on auction sites etc for a while, so I am pleased I will be able to pick it up for the price of a paper! Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place. Quote
Robianco Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Thanks for the heads up on that. I must admit I don't bother with polybags with builds like that so would the reason for that having a big(ish) price on the aftermarket be down to it being packaged or are there parts in there that are difficult to find? Wouldn't it cost around £2 on Bricklink to get the parts to build Poe's X-Wing? Quote

The boxes are more compact, probably trying to be more green. Quote

I can't speak for the AT-DP, I don't own it, but I struggled with whether I was going to buy the AT-ST or not simply because of the box pictures. So I bought the U-Wing first instead then relented and bought the AT-ST. I'm glad I did. The model is fantastic, the best version of the vehicle TLG has done by far and maybe the best we will ever get from them. It's my desk in my bedroom and I went to bed the set actually looked like a proper model in the dark. There is certainly room for modifications if you're into that sort've thing, such as replacing dark blue grey panels/pieces with light blue grey, removing the spring fire missiles next to the chin gun because they look awful from the side. I would say build it %100 but it's your $40 so spend it as you see fit. Speaking of which are there any pictures out there of this new AT-ST next to the AT-DP? RetroInferno Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) I've built three sets today: Hovertank, AT-ST and Tie Striker. I gotta say that the strongest set for your bucks is the Hovertank: it's really cheap, the mini-figs are extremly solid and the build is very nice! The Striker is very imposing and an over-engineered marvel structure wise; the cockpit is probably the strudiest thing lego has ever put out. Very expensive, but worth the purchase if you at least get double VIP. The Tie Pilot is also very close to the UCS tie one, and he's mighty fabulous. The AT-ST is very nice, the front art doesn't do justice to the real deal. Probably the weakest set mini-fig wise so far, but doesn't mean it sucks as Baze and the rebel trooper are very detailed. Would have been nice to get an additionnal imperial soldier in there. Gotta say so far this wave's line up is incredibly solid. My only criticism, and I'm gonna repeat what Jang said, is the lack of maintray imperial troops for the rebels ( which are very well represented ) to fight agaisn't, although vehicle wise it's 4 to 1. Tomorrow my most anticipated set, Krennic's shuttle! Edited October 8, 2016 by RetroInferno Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I've seen a few over complicated mods to fit two pilots in it but I've figured out a way to do it with just the spares. I can take pics if any body wants me too Quote
