Venkefedo Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Anyone else see the resemblance of these minifigures to the ones in the new Battlefront III beta? Anyway, I love the looks of these sets, hope they're not as overpriced as the new The Force Awakens ones. Those two Battlepacks are specifically from the new Battlefront game! They're also a great bit of evidence to refute that supposed list of upcoming sets... The BF2 packs are clearly wish fulfillment. Never gonna happen. Quote
Fives Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 That list is utter tripe. While I believe that we will see LEGO versions of the TFA Star Destroyer, most of the other sets are completey ridiculous. As for those new sets, here are my thoughts. The battle packs are perfect, despite the lack of normal weapons. I think LEGO should include both stud shooters and regular blaster in all BPs, with variety in size and colour. I really like the look of the new jet packs, and I also like the diverse Rebel grouping. The Imperials also get a good group of figs, and I like the Shock Trooper far more than I expected. The two prequels sets are kinda meh, especially the spider droid. Sure, it's a cheap way to get Yoda, but there's so many better things they could've done that include Yoda. Why not gives us a small set of the entrance to the Jedi Temple with Yoda and some 501st clones? Opportunity wasted on an unecessary rehash. The Jedi starfighter is simply stunning. I'm not as tempted as I thought I'd be simply because of the minifig selection. The Obi-Wan is only new in that he has the piloting headset, and the astro mech is just another astro mech which is kinda boring. If they'd have included a new Magna Guard or something, I'd be more interested. The Hoth set is kind of a let down, but I think it will look better once paired with the must discussed and mysterious Echo Base set. On its own, it isn't much, but with the larger set it may work really well. The Hoth Han is also a welcome figure, because I haven't gotten one since 09. The Carbon Freezing Chamber is really good. The ugnaught is nice, and the Han looks to have a new face print. I really don't know how they can improve on the current one, and part of me hopes that it's simply the quality of the images making it seem different. Boba looks good. I can forgive the lack of arm print thanks to that nice cape piece. The set itself looks like they must be planning a Cload City at somepoint. And that Finn hair is perfect for Lando. Now the set with Leia. I'm so excited to see her in a set! Especially along with Ackbar! The basic Resistance soldier with the helmet looks awesome, but that other figure I don't quite understand. I think she's just a soldier, but the headpiece is throwing me off. The ship itself looks like an evolved version of the B-Wing with the wings and gyroscopic cockpit removed. Doubt this set is either Battle of Takadona or Pirate Transport, or even the elusive House of Mirrors set. Can't wait to see more of these TFA sets. I have a feeling the BPs are gonna be really good. Sir von Lego Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I agree that the list is totally fake. The minifig counts are unnaturally high and make it just seem like a wish list. A Battle of Endor set like that would hurt sales of the Ewok Village and the Tyderium Shuttle. A Geonosis Arena would never have that many figures unless it was Death Star sized. And LEGO wouldn't give us more battle packs in the summer when they've already increased the amount we have in the winter. If we got more in the summer wave, we'd be getting, what, 8 new battle packs a year? Plus 4-8 from the previous year? There'd be way too many on shelves. But this year, at least in Germany, every set released before Summer 2015 will retire. So there is room for Battle packs, because the Sets from last year are gone.. Quote

If so im gonna need to pick up some extra stormie-BPs stat, and that is putting me on the spot for that gozanti Quote

The Gonzanti was new for Summer 2015, so no, you will see it on the shelves in 1. half of 2016 as well. Quote
appiah4 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 It's weird that the Obi-Wan interceptor is a step back from Anakin's interceptor in almost every regard.. Quote

Ah right, i took "Summer 2015" to mean august, so the Sith infiltrator, Shuttle etc.. wave (or i havent been paying attention), either way, ill have to pick up a bunch of those 75078s again, we dont know when we have another shot at cheap and plentiful stormies like this, thankfully i already have the Tie and AT-DP. It's weird that the Obi-Wan interceptor is a step back from Anakin's interceptor in almost every regard.. Yeah, i like the color scheme and the fact that we're getting Obi rather then Ani, but the model is worse, the "hips" around the cockpit and the front of the wings both looks worse then on 75038. Thankfully at least the wedges from old set are available in dark-red, so it should be fixable with some bricklinking. It is odd though that Lego even went with a different model considering these two interceptors literally fly side by side in the movie, recreating the scene would only serve to highlight the differences. pittpenguin123 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Whats up with the figure stands i dont think they photo shoped them out yet Quote

The ship itself looks like an evolved version of the B-Wing with the wings and gyroscopic cockpit removed. Actually, looking closely at the positions of hinges on the top of the fuselage, the hinged lower vertical stabilizer and the cowling behind the cockpit, I expect some vertical transformation action with deployable wings, the vertical fin rotating downward, and cockpit rotation much like the B wing. Quote
darththeling Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Confirmation of Leia is terrific. As for that ship, I was hoping it would be a Resistance Troop Transport of some kind, but yeah you're probably right it's like the B-Wing successor or something. It'll probably be $40USD/$50CAD? Here's hoping the wing modes didn't change during the development process this time! Quote
Vedauwoo Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Why do we need another Spider Droid? Because now they have added a "6-shooter..." lol Seriously, it looks like the exact same build with the shooter added..... Quote
General Magma Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) I don't believe that list is legit at all. If you need evidence to support that, check out the figure counts, and if that isn't enough, then look at the battlepacks. Those are based on BF2, figures that mostly have nothing to do with the new Battlefront. In short, it's nothing but a wish list. It would be extremely unlikely to get two different Imperial battlepacks alongside two different Rebel battlepacks in one year, especially when the battlepacks of both factions seem to have re-used figures. And I'm quite glad this is nothing but a wish list, or at least partially a wish list (I have no idea who Vicar is, that character doesn't exist yet according to SW wiki) because I'd much rather see some sets with a few more aliens, a Rebels set including Cikatro Vizago (and maybe Azmorigan) and some TFA sets with figure selections that are more interesting than just troopers and main characters. I would be very happy with some new alien figures, anyhow, like cantina patrons and some of the many aliens seen in the the group shot of Maz Kanata's castle halls. Also, Rogue One sets! BrickBob Studpants Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I agree, that list is as fake as it gets Here's why: A) As many have pointed out, way too many minifigs for the price points B) Another Geonosis Arena rumor? That thing's appeared on more fake rumor lists than Half-Life 3 C) Battlepacks in the summer? Seriously? Sure, TLG might change that one day, but they've only recently doubled the amount of battlepacks and if they intended to split them up between the two yearly waves, they'd have done just that D) Wayyyy too early. The summer set lists don't usually appear before December for that is the period when the catalogues are sent to retailers. E) Too many Kylos. He's the main selling point of the Command Shuttle set, they wouldn't want him to be available in two (!) other sets in the same timeframe. Not even Vader's in three sets at the same time F) Vicar? That's what immediately threw me off (apart from the glaring inconsistencies that many have already pointed out). "Vicar" is just the alleged code name for the character that's supposed to be played by Max von Sydow, just like Maz Kanata, who was previously known as "Rose". No way they'd use a code name for a set description Just my 2 cents, but don't believe a word of that list Quote
arc Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 As much as I'd love that, it's too good to be true. Quote

Sir von Lego Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Do you guys saw this? 6,70 EUR for a book which comes with 3PO? http://www.buch.de/shop/home/suchartikel/activity_book_1_with_figure_lego_star_wars_activity_book_with_fi/ameet_studio/EAN9780545917278/ID42886979.html?jumpId=14403830&suchId=2730ff11-4946-422c-ab17-99946ed93fbb Quote

addemlit Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 It's weird that the Obi-Wan interceptor is a step back from Anakin's interceptor in almost every regard.. What differences are there? Quote
Vectormatic Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 What differences are there? From what i've spotted myself, the bumps next to the cockpit, and the angle of the inward bit at the front of the wings In both cases, the older model looks better, and is more accurate to the movie version Quote
Darth Kylo Ren Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 You guys do have me here, I can agree these are fake, anyways off with the sets just revealed. The Rebels battlepack definitely interests me, I love the new Rodian and Duro head. And the human's head seems used , but that's not really a problem. The speeder definitely looks nice I'm guessing it's from the Endor mode, seen in the trailer released in April. The Imperial's Battlepack has some nice minifigures but I don't know what that machine is. Glad to see a spring loaded shooter in a battle pack for the first time, those flick fires annoy me. I like the minifigures especially the Shock Trooper it looks really nice. I'll get on to the rest but I gotta get to my allergist Quote
Terrynomnoms Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 It appears that the new TFA set's pilots have helmets with lifting fronts but does however leave the visor covering the eyes. Could be due to the visor being printed on the fig unlike Poe and the other X-wing pilot's helmets Quote
Ultron Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 The Jedi Interceptor is rather lame to me. R4 is the only draw and I can totally live without him. The ship is meh, not the most exciting in the galaxy. In terms of looks it's virtually the same as Anakin's but recolored (as it's supposed to be but I think they could've included something else to make it more desirable). Here's hoping they release a Boga set down the line with a magnaguard and Pau'an guy instead of these boring ships they love to rerelease Quote
