Artanis I Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Your post made more sense when I realised you meant "desert" Quote
Panthro Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Interesting. I guess we'll see January 1th. Where have I seen that image before? It looks familiar... Quote
appiah4 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 From what i've spotted myself, the bumps next to the cockpit, and the angle of the inward bit at the front of the wings In both cases, the older model looks better, and is more accurate to the movie version In addition: the wings are shorter (which makes the ship squattish), the engine detail is different (more detailed and actually better), the cannons have changed (to resemble something from an 80s spaceship..) Vectormatic Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 In addition: the wings are shorter (which makes the ship squattish), the engine detail is different (more detailed and actually better), the cannons have changed (to resemble something from an 80s spaceship..) Indeed, the wings stick out one stud less in front, and there does appear to be a black bit between the grey main part of the engine and the exhaust-glow dish. On further inspection, the wings seem to be thinner as well, the front section looks to be 2 plates, rather then the 3 in 75038, partially possible to the newer model using a sticker for the grey trapezoid outtake on the inner edges then having it brickbuilt in 75038, the different inward-angled pieces (the 3x3 angled rather then the yellow 4-2 trapezoid) also looks like it means less supportive plating underneath. The surface below the S-foils also looks to be a bigger plate with a sticker rather then brick-built detailing. I think the newer model will end up with significantly less parts, and a much bigger sticker sheet, and while it may end up looking sleeker, im not sure whether i like those changes, stickers fade and peel off, and detract from the modability. Personally i'd hope this all translates to a lower price (as i think the €30 MSRP for 223 parts in 75038 is already rather high), but who am i kidding right? Ive got parts on the way for a black version of 75038 (to be paired with a spare vader and black astromech), and if the new set ends up being inferior, i might just mod it back to the old model, dark red is pretty common after all Quote
General Magma Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 January 1th? I've never heard of that date before, so I guess we'll never get to see that set either, then! As for the Rebel battlepack - I agree, it's a homerun, that one. Two alien species for a BP price, a great set of printed legs and torsos and even those helmets... Can't go wrong with that one, and I think it will be a day-one purchase for me - and that's coming from someone who rarely buys sets anymore. Quote
will Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Just watch the latest animated Droid Tales episode, hoping to see some giveaways about the UCS hoth base, but nothing really. There was a new Hoth Luke and Hoth Officer, and it showed the Hoth rebel from the advent calendar. Hoth Han looked the same as the promo version. There were some other bits and bobs (new Lando, Dagobah Luke, bounty hunters etc) but these have never been a good source for rumors. The carbon freezing scene was nothing like the set pics we've seen. Quote
just2good Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 The picture is 100% real, 1th is just a little mistake and the YouTube logo cropping wasn't the best. Quote
legosamsonite Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I read that battle of tokodona will be 29.99$ i hope bb8 is in that set Just2good, is that set battle of tokodona? Quote
Pulp Detective Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 If the picture is true and I hope it is,it looks like we're getting a new location based set which that alone makes me really excited!! Not to mention it's a TFA set. Quote
benderisgreat Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) The picture is 100% real, 1th is just a little mistake and the YouTube logo cropping wasn't the best. You and Cm4sci are usually right when it comes to rumors so there's no reason not to believe you. The real question is what set it is and how many pieces it has, cause it looks like 20-30$ set. Maybe the is the set we are going to get another Finn figure( I recall Cm4sci said that Finn will be in cheap set in January wave). Edited October 13, 2015 by benderisgreat Quote
TheAmazingDarkKnight Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Any idea that old man, Luke will be in that set? I mean, we're getting Leia, so they clearly are allowed to include more secretive characters. Quote
just2good Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) Finn does come in the set, if it's the Battle of Takon-whatever, and it will also be around $50, with a reprint of a figure some of us skipped this year (not just Finn)... Luke isn't in the set. Edited October 13, 2015 by just2good Quote
darththeling Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) Well, I'm sure a lot of people missed/are skipping Kylo Ren at that ridiculous price point for his shuttle! On the bright side, if that pic is real, that's confirmation that we'll be getting the first scene from The Force Awakens, as opposed to continual vehicles. The color palette looks nice. There will be some foliage and a mechanism of some sort... oh and some pretty gold bricks. Edited October 13, 2015 by darththeling Quote
just2good Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I do not know the exact price, as I heard it's $50 or so, but some of you are saying $30 which makes me hppy. Quote
Mahtion Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 How interesting! Thanks for the info just2good. I wonder who the reprint could be? If we are getting Finn then that leaves a few other choices. Most of us would have gotten Rey since she was in two sets, same with bb8. Kylo some of us skipped on but sounds like Lego wouldn't include him in another set unless somehow changed printing or missing the helmet. Maybe it is Kylo or Han? Quote

Luke isn't in the set. Reprint ? Is it Po Dameron in civilian clothes, the one that we saw at SDCC behind the scenes footage? Anyway either 50 or 30$ is a good price to get 2 main heroes minifigs, of course if it's 30 a build will obviously be much smaller but more affordable. Anyway thanks for the news just2good! Quote
just2good Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) It's Kylo, I forgot that I said I'd stop giving hints. Edited October 13, 2015 by just2good Quote
benderisgreat Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 It's Kylo, I forgot that I said I'd stop giving hints. If you want to drop more hints, we are always eager to hear them. It seems weird that Lego will put Kylo Ren in 30-50$ set. Right now he is the main selling point of Command Shuttle, and to put him in a set 2 or 3 times cheaper just seems weird for them( unless they decided to retire shuttle in January, which obviously won't happen). Anyway thanks for answering just2good. Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Any idea that old man, Luke will be in that set? I mean, we're getting Leia, so they clearly are allowed to include more secretive characters. Leia's not nearly as secretive as Luke, as she was revealed in SDCC's Behind The Scenes video... So far the only official Luke image is what we saw in the second teaser, with R2. Glad Kylo will be available in a smaller set! He's the main baddie; it's kinda ridiculous to be stuck in a giant set like that, even if that's Lego's SOP across many properties. Quote
ArrowBricks Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) The unnamed set is based off TFA, not Rebels. Note it's got Ackbar, General Organa, and two Resistance Troopers. What's "disjointed" about the Rebel battle pack's figures, aside from the headgear of the two humans? They have 2 torso styles, 2 leg styles (tan and dark tan), two different nonhumans...given the Alliance can be a bit ragtag, having the humans in different hats isn't terribly unusual. On the plus side, it's a new deco for the A-wing helmet, great for expanding your Green Squadron pilots, or making one of the Red Squadron A-wing pilots... having 4 distinct troopers despite similar uniforms seems right up the Rebel Alliance's alley, even if the films weren't the best at showcasing that part of their nature. I just feel that they don't seem like a Rebels that I like. They just seem to be minifigures in tan. Although I fully understand your reasoning in why you, and many more, for sure like the set. Maybe it will grow on me. Edited October 13, 2015 by ArrowBricks Quote

Pulp Detective Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 So we're getting a set with Finn and Kylo together and also in cheaper set??Take my money!!! I'm glad since they're both important to the overall movie and even thought Lego included them in the most expencive sets(which is a smart move) it's a nice suprise to get them in a cheaper set. Quote
Mahtion Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Well I'm not seeing a need to bricklink Finn anymore but old Han I may still have to as they are only character minifigs I'm missing. Just2good can you say if Maz is in this set considering it's her castle? Also does Kylo have new torso print or face print and is his saber the same? Quote

Very excited if Lego gave Kylo a better torso print! better torso print? Comparing his minifig to his character photos the printing is pretty much spot on. Besides we don't know yet if Kylo will ever remove his mask in the movie, so not so sure about face instead of mask. Quote
