lego the hutt Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) I'd say the catalogue preview image was pretty accurate, spelling errors and all ;) What spelling errors am I missing?...other than the alternate spelling of catalog... Edited November 29, 2015 by lego the hutt Quote

DarthPotato Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Oh, wow, I didn't expect the Droid Escape set to open up like that. The interior looks quite nice for its size. I might need to consider getting this one now. Quote
Hero Bricks Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 http://imgur.com/a/QJVIr Here we go guys! Where there any HD pics of the two sets that were leaked today? Quote
Mymaker123 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Where there any HD pics of the two sets that were leaked today? I don't think so. It was all these, and then the rebels micro-fighters that we have already seen (i didn't put them up cus everyone's seen them already) Quote
Mymaker123 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) I don't like the lack of gloss on the Resistance helmets - the matt colours make them look really tacky and odd looking. If they had the same sort of gloss as the First Order helmets they'd be great... Edited November 29, 2015 by Mymaker123 Quote
Kman860 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Can any one make out the text under the minifigs on the boxed images or have a best guess? Im not having much luck on my phone. Maz Kanata, Kylo Ren, Finn, FO stormtrooper, FO stormtrooper, pretty sure in that order. Quote
duboismerci Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I don't know what they changed (and why) that makes the droid be only half in the socket on the jedi starfighter. I don't know how to feel about the Empire battlepack. The vehicle is weak. The troopers are really nice except for the crack on their helmets which is too close to the visor to safely remove it with whatever technique. This will be a cheap winter since I don't collect Ep VII sets. Waiting for pictures of the summer sets and the UCS Echo base. Quote
wesker Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 The interior for the escape pod is the best one yet. Really like the engine details and the way the set opens up too. Shame the front of the pod is a bit on the blocky side. The Death Star plans are a nice touch. Not too fond of the redesigned droid socket on the Jedi Interceptor. It doesn't look right with R4's body half sticking out. The last two versions of the Interceptor did a better job at this. Still unsure on the Hoth Attack set. The new Probe Droid looks great, but there's a strong possibility everything else is already included in Echo Base. Wish we could get a look at some different angles of the Carbon Freeze Chamber to see if its modular or not. I'm still holding out hope Lego will further expand upon it in the Summer wave. The Ugnaught looks amazing close up. I also like that the Rodian has new face printing in the Rebels battlepack. Helps add a bit more diversity among the other Rodian characters. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I kinda don't get why the droid socket on Obi's Jedi Interceptor is designed like that. The R4 droid really sticks out from the socket and ruin the overall look of the set. The way the droid socket are builder on the 2012 and 2014 are way better. Quote
Darth Caedus Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Only wished Lego made one of them have the heavy gunner torso like in the bp. Also the set is quite nice almost council of elrond feel. Cannot wait until the inevitable Takodana d2c set. Lol, why would you want another heavy gunner torso? There will be so many surplus from the battle pack. I am glad the Takodana kit had two normal Stormtroopers, they're still not going to be easy to get even with the battle pack, and you can't have too many. I agree though, it's like the Council of Elrond but done properly (the minifigures in CoE were poorly chosen and not desirable, whereas these are an excellent mix of existing and new figures all pursued by most fans). joebiwankenobi Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) Is anyone assuming we are getting a cloud city set in the nature of Jabba's palace a few years ago? I find it interesting that the carbonate freezing chamber has an odd open end to the right of the set that serves no purpose. It reminds me of the rancor pit and how it had the odd features on the top with the pyramidal builds. No one knew what they were to interlock into Jabba's Palace which released that summer. Is a similar thing happening where the carbon freezing chamber is hinting at a cloud city release in summer 2016? We shall see... Does one of the stormtroopers from the Takodana set have that anti saber staff thing? At least I think that is what they're trying to represent. Edited November 29, 2015 by joebiwankenobi Quote
Richpepperell Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Just checking out the Aurebesh on a couple of the stickers: 'LOCK' on the carbon freezing chamber (could be wrong, hard to see on phone) and 'DESTINATION TATOOINE' in side the escape pod. The little sticker on the Death Star plan build reads 'SND' - abbreviation of SEND perhaps? Quote

Is a similar thing happening where the carbon freezing chamber is hinting at a cloud city release in summer 2016? We shall see... I don't think so, the Rancor Pit was actually released after Jabba's Palace so it was clear what it was designed for. To me the freezing chamber makes a Cloud CIty set in the near future less likely as it should be one of the most important features of such a set. Quote
belkor Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Well, I'm clearly in the minority on this, but these sets look totally underwhelming and ridiculously expensive! Personally I think that Kylo Ren's Shuttle (75104) is far better value and it has been available at 40% off a couple of times in the UK recently which is getting somewhere near the RRPs of these. Each to their own, I guess. I'm with you on this one - they're disappointing, whilst 75104 is an awesome set (and at 40% off is a must buy). Quote

Yes , one of the Stormtroopers has a new shock staff with him, even though it looks like a reverse blaster rather than proper shock staff. Quote

The technic pieces on the top corner is supposed to be the locking mechanism for it. If the Carbon Chamber is designed to be combined with a future set, the connection point would have to be on the left wall with the control panel on top. Unfortunately its impossible to tell at this angle of the picture. The only other alternative is if a future Cloud City set came with the second half of the Carbon Chamber so it forms a complete circle, but that doesn't seem too likely to happen. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Where are people seeing kylos command shuttle for 40% off, in the uk? Ima jump at one for that but cant seem to find any :( Quote
Lobot Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Thanks Mymaker123, a great find! I'm probably showing my age but I'm not really that interested in the Episode VII sets. However both the Carbon-Freezing Chamber and Droid Escape Pod are must buys for me, and I'm going to get the former as soon as I can find it somewhere! The box artwork is excellent and the design of the Ugnaught is starting to grow on me; plus lots of useful parts and copious amounts of trans-orange! I'm quite impressed by the Escape Pod which is a considerable improvement on the old one; the interior is surprisingly detailed and I can see both sets selling well Where are people seeing kylos command shuttle for 40% off, in the uk? Ima jump at one for that but cant seem to find any :( They were available on Amazon during the first Argos 3 for 2 a few weeks ago at £60.58, and also discounted to £89.99 last weekend (as part of the last 3 for 2 which reduced them £60 each). They're a bargain at that price and make a good parts-pack if you're looking for lots of standard LBG & DBG plates! Quote
Dragonlego27 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I really like the FO Officer in the battlepack, I don't think we've seen his helmet before. The new jet pack peices in the battlefront sets look cool as well. Unfortunately, I kinda feel the red stormtrooper doesn't work, so combined with the battle-damaged Stormies and the sets a miss for me. Quote
FatB Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Nice to see some big clear shot finally. Thanks for the pics! As long as the prices aren't too harsh, I think this wave is pretty darn decent except for a couple. On a side note, looks like the FO Snowspeeder Microfighter doesn't have the armor kama cloth like the ones from the 75100 set. Guess that's the way Lego decided to differentiate them. Quote
