BalrogJ Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 An escape pod set is more likely to include a Jawa than a Tusken, considering what happens to both droids after they exit the pod and part ways. Quote

Agreed, although it has been speculated on here that a variation could be the escape pod at the Tantive end with R2, 3P0, new white Leia (with Deathstar plans on USB) and a new generic rebel! How about a Krayt dragon skeleton? Quote

How about a Krayt dragon skeleton? I'd be up for that. Classic Leia is long overdue for an update. She's been using the same torso print since 2000! Although the Krayt Dragon skeleton sounds like a nice idea too. Quote
markw Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) presumably this will mean ANOTHER variant of C-3PO, as per the sandcrawler but without the restraining bolt? Do we have the definitive R2D2 now? Can't really see them improving beyond this, although a shiny bonce would be great! Backprinting? Edited August 5, 2015 by markw Quote
wesker Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Backprinting is the only thing I think they can improve on R2. But yeah other than that he's pretty definitive now. Quote
ArrowBricks Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Just thinking that the Obi-Wan's Interceptor will be Episode 3 as in Episode 2 he uses a starfighter not an interceptor. So we have two more sets... A podracer oh very overjoyed. The other one is definitely the most peculiar name you'll probably get. Quote
Vodnik Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Backprinting is the only thing I think they can improve on R2. But yeah other than that he's pretty definitive now. Backprinting. And a third leg! A detachable new mold that could be attached to the bottom of the body at an angle to represent moving droid. Then R2 would really be definitive Just thinking that the Obi-Wan's Interceptor will be Episode 3 as in Episode 2 he uses a starfighter not an interceptor. The set was described as ROTS Obi-Wan's Interceptor, so it is 100% an Episode 3 set. Edited August 5, 2015 by Vodnik Quote
Jacob_9821 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 presumably this will mean ANOTHER variant of C-3PO, as per the sandcrawler but without the restraining bolt? Most likely, yes. I'm guessing he'll also have a dual-moulded leg as well. Quote
markw Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Most likely, yes. I'm guessing he'll also have a dual-moulded leg as well. Dual moulded? Tell me more! Proper silver lower leg? Is that a common thing in other themes? Edited August 5, 2015 by markw Quote
Ultron Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 An escape pod set is more likely to include a Jawa than a Tusken, considering what happens to both droids after they exit the pod and part ways. That's true, I forgot about the Jawas. It'd be nice to get one of them in a non-expensive set Dual moulded? Tell me more! Proper silver lower leg? Is that a common thing in other themes? It's becoming increasingly common Backprinting is the only thing I think they can improve on R2. But yeah other than that he's pretty definitive now. He needs this pretty badly Quote

hachiroku Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 The set was described as ROTS Obi-Wan's Interceptor, so it is 100% an Episode 3 set. Maybe it's from Episode VIII, Return of the Sith, and the Interceptor is owned by Obi Wan Skywalker, son of Luke. Why not? Quote

Kaanere Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 So yes, the freezing chamber is 30€. The Hoth attack seems like it's like the old one (which I have). Quote
DarthPotato Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Hmm, no sign of Anakin's Podracer here, so maybe it's a retailer exclusive after all. Kanan's Speeder Bike is new as well. Also, it looks like all of the OT and PT sets are going to be $25 and the two The Force Awakens sets will be $50-$70 (assuming they're both 75139 and 75140). Quote
rollermonkey Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 There's got to be some reason there's yet another escape pod released so soon though (unless C-3PO & R2 aren't in the force awakens sets...?) so I feel like they'll want to spruce it up somehow. I kinda doubt it too, but I'd expect at least a Tusken instead of more sand troopers. How about because Threepio isn't currently available in any set below $250? Ewok village, Sandcrawler, Death Star, and two of those are out of stock, with Death Star possibly is retired except for whatever stock is out there... and mini-spoiler, but if R2 is with Luke and Luke's TFA appearance is as limited as rumor suggests, he very well may not be in any TFA sets.... and we haven't seen 3PO outside of a single image, so same could be true for him, as far as limited screen time, too. Quote
Aethersprite Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Looking forward to Obi's Eta-2, to go with my Anakin one from last year! And hopefully the other 2 figs in the carbon chamber set will be Vader and Luke. Quote

I'm just saying there's not much reason to include them in a smaller set like the escape pod considering they look almost the exact same as always unless 1) they are in no TFA sets 2) they are in expensive TFA sets I welcome them either way. The only C-3PO I own is from the original escape pod (because he's never really in cheap sets like you said) and I don't have an up to date R2 either! It makes me a little sad if they're hardly featured in ep. 7 though...they really are the heart and soul of star wars Quote
irispen Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 yahoO! cant wait for more OT sets! battlepacks! Quote
Darth_Brick360 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I hope we get the rodian and sullustan rebels in the battlefront battlepack. Quote
wesker Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Curious to see if Ahsoka or the new Inquisitors show up with Kanan's Speeder Bike. The set itself doesn't sound particularly interesting though considering we just got Ezra's bike this year. Quote

Most 25 USD sets in recent years only feature 2 - 3 minifigs. 75141 could likely be a store exclusive based on high set number, low price. 75139 and 75140 are rumoured to be called either Battle on Takodana and The Pirate Transport. Clone 01354 Productions Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 And hopefully the other 2 figs in the carbon chamber set will be Vader and Luke. Why do people want this? For a $25-$30 set, it'll only come with 4-5 minifigs (maybe less). I'd prefer they come in a separate set, one designed for their duel specifically. The Carbon-Freezing chamber has so many minifigure possibilities: Lando, Chewbacca carrying C-3PO, prisoner Leia, Ugnaught, etc, so why would you want two characters that could justify their own set, and take away the chance of getting figures that can't appear in any others? Now, this is a joke, but....what if the carbon-freezing chamber is a Battlefront set (from the original game)? Just include a boring platform, and some Stormtroopers. Wouldn't that be a way to make all the fans rage. Quote

Unless (and unlikely) Lego releases something like a Cloud City duel set down the line, this is a good chance to get the new Vader. It's unlikely that Lego would put so many important characters in one small and cheap set, though; which is why I emphasise that I said I hope (however unlikely) Vader and Luke are included, not that I think they will be included.
