Kman860 Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Bottom right corner next to the minifigures. *snip* Thanks, never would have found noticed that. That's great   Quote
Cyberfounder Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Oof, hadnt noticed the droid socket on the obi wan interceptor... I was kinda looking forward to it, but it looks like it will need extensive bricklinking to fix the damn thing, It might be cheaper to just get the yellow one and buy some red parts rather then trying to fix the new one. Just did that and I look far better than the new version. You might want to wait untill this one comes out because some of the red wing pieces are hard to find for the moment. Quote

Yeah, i bricklinked my own black Darth Vader's Interceptor based off of the yellow one, its an awesome set. Not sure if the new one has enough of the red parts needed for the old design though, the radiator panels perhaps, but that is about it i think, as far as uncommon pieces are concerned. Quote
Only Sinner Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I think the 75125 Resistance X-Wing microfighter pilot looks a lot like Daniel Fleetwood, if that's so, it's a nice tribute. It's probably just a coincidence. BTW, is anyone going to update the first post here so we can see all the set images? Quote

CT-22-2759 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 It seems to be a kind of speeder. I am not sure yet. It's very small. Look likes it has around 50 pieces. Because messing with the droid socket wasn't enough... More seriously. Sometime it looks like Lego is either making amazing sets (mostly) or bad sets. There is no middle. From what we see, the wave looks great except for: -Obi Wan Starfighter: no Cody phase 2, messed up droid socket, more stickers -Empire Battlepack: vehicle is ugly and 'crackheads' stormtroopers The vehicle in the Rebel BP is a speeder bike, that I get it. Whereas for the Empire version? For the last time that thing could be like a turret. And yes, I'm not too keen on the battle damaged TK's. However that techie , white jump packs and Shock Trooper are my excuses for getting that set. Sure wish they chose the Magma Trooper from Sullust though... Quote
Sam892 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I'm quite suprised at all the hate for the Battle damaged Stormies. I personally think its nice to get a variation instead of the usually plain white. I'm sure Lego will give us more Plain white 2014 variations in the future. Even if you didn't want to have your army looking beat up, you could always use those battle damaged ones as dead stormies. Quote
appiah4 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Damn, is that Obi-Wan interceptor a huge letdown. They had it all nailed with Anakin's interceptor, they then went ahead and made it terribly worse with the next release. Colors don't match, geometry/size is wrong, stickers up the wazoo, the droid slot is.. Oh my god, just why Lego? Rebel Troop Transport will be mine, however. Quote

Even if you didn't want to have your army looking beat up, you could always use those battle damaged ones as dead stormies. It's not so much having the battle-damaged stormies at all, it's that both 'regular' stormies in the pack are battle-damaged... instead of one clean, one scuffed. The First Order BP, for instance, has one heavy trooper, one plain. Having a clean trooper in the BF BP would've been nice, since it'd be a cheap way of getting detailed sparkling stormies, rather than buying a bunch of much pricier Advent Calendars, Slave Is, or Star Destroyers. It would also likely bring down the Bricklink price of the 2014 stormies overall, making that a more viable option for folks as well. Quote

It's only wrong when the variation Stormie is more common than the regular Stormie.... making the regular Stormies the variation.... or something. Quote

Junior Shark Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) OK, well I don't know who that dude is then, as I have been avoiding all spoilers. Whoops! Should've probably mentioned there were possible spoilers . Well, at least it's not too spoilery. I could've said something like, "Finn is Leia and Lando's lost son, Rey is a child of Jabba and Leia, Chewie doesn't have any gray hair because he's been in carbonite for the past thirty years, Captain Phasma is the love child of Boba Fett, at the end of the Force Awakens a 'walking carpet' becomes an actual carpet, Admiral Thrawn shows up, the Knights of Ren are actually the Yuuzhan Vong, and Supreme Leader Snoke is Thanos." Consider yourself spoiled. Edited December 1, 2015 by Junior Shark Quote

Consider yourself spoiled. (but, yeah, Grunberg being an X-wing pilot isn't a major spoiler or anything... he's one of JJ's best friends, and we all know how much screentime most pilots get in these movies... and like Theron Nett in the previous Micro Fighter X-wing, he doesn't even get a proper name on the box! Just "Resistance X-wing Pilot" like the other guy in the Poe's X-wing set) Re: the new sets... disappointed in the Jedi Interceptor (I like that it's a bit more compact, but dislike many of the changes, especially the droid socket, and--like many others--the lack of a Phase II Cody, even if he'd be more appropriate with a blue Interceptor). Loving the BPs overall, and Takodana looks pretty good for figures, and a nice little build. The Resistance Transport looks cool, but I'll have to wait for a nice discount before considering it...I have a stand-in Leia already that'll do in the meantime. The Droid Escape set looks fun! Great figs & nice detail pieces, even if many are probably stickers. Lastly, the Carbon Freeze Chamber looks kinda neat, but is a bit disappointing what with Boba lacking printed arms--the mindset that you have to buy a $200 set to get printed arms for the guy baffles me...to me, the draw for Slave I is the ship itself in all its glory. Still, the set looks decent, and the Ugnaught looks fantastic. With the mechanism on the right, I'm not sure it'll be able to connect to another chunk of the chamber, but they could possibly have another part that also extends into a hallway or the gantry with a Luke vs Vader duel; Luke does get dropped into the pit, after all. But such a set would likely be pretty big to be worth including Vader. We definitely need some CC set in the next year or two with a finally-updated Bespin Luke & Bespin Lando (and more CC Guards). It's been ages! (and maybe the ANH Luke hair in Dark Tan?) Quote
r3 UNIT Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) I think the Obi-Wan interceptor having an droid slot is meant to be a play feature. I personally don't like R4-P17 sticking herself up too high, but if you remember ROTS She gets beheaded by buzz droids. By making her stick up a little higher than that of the previous designed droid slots will make children easier to plop up the droids head without having to take out the droid from the droid slot. By doing this the battle damage to R4-P17 will be much more present than if all of the body was pushed into the droid slot fully which will show the battle damage to imitate the scene from ROTS . Kman860 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I think all in all, we're luck that we won't be getting so many remakes for a few years at least...I hope. Quote

Not only is her Bespin minifigure from the last Cloud City set seriously outdated, but the Bespin Escape version also remains the only version of Leia from the classic trilogy that hasn't been made as a minifigure yet. It would be great if both figures could be included just like we got both Boussh and Slave Leia in the Jabba themed sets. Quote
appiah4 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I really can't get over how good the Resistance Troop Transport looks, I love the ship, and I have no clue why, but I absolutely adore it. I'm so glad I didn't get the B-Wing now, this is such a better but similar model. Are there any high res photos of this yet? Quote

The new one is so... thin. The wings are just plates. I'll probably pick up the new B-Wing sometime in the next couple weeks when I find a good discount, mainly for the figs. Quote

I would not necessarily say the criticism is directed at the battle damaged stormies. They problem is it is harder to get a plain, inspection ready OT stormtrooper than it is to get a red one, a battle damaged one, a Rebels frowntrooper, a shadow trooper, (insert your favorite version here), etc. It almost seems like Lego is bent on making it near impossible to acquire one without buying a very expensive set or trying to go through a third party like Bricklink. Like someone said, all they had to do was trade just ONE of the battle damaged stormies for a regular one, and then you at least get one of what you are looking for in a cheap set. So far, I have not been an "army builder" in any way in any Lego line. However, if there is one thing I would want multiples of, it is the OT stormtrooper. Advent Calendar and ISD are now sold out, so currently the only way to get one is to buy Slave I--ouch. Edited December 2, 2015 by AFOLguy1970 Quote
markw Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) I've found the prices on the latest OT stormies (which are fantastic I might add) have really dropped since they appeared in the advent. I got 3 for £7.50 on eBay. I'm happy with a couple of sandy stormies in my line up so I will be equally happy with battle damaged ones. Plus surely we will get some in Rogue One battlepacks this time next year? Edited December 2, 2015 by markw Quote

But if Rogue One rumors are to be believed, there will be new trooper variants, which means the BP may contain only one or two undamaged OT stormies. Quote
