Pulp Detective Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Any ideas about when we'll get a set list for the summer wave?? Quote
Spyderlord Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Probably in January @ Nuremberg Toy Fair... Edited December 5, 2015 by Spyderlord Quote
Vectormatic Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 At the Dutch toy site Bart Smit, they list the release date of the new sets for January 1st. Battlepacks are €14,95, the bigger sets are €36,95. Which is about 24% more expensive... 37 euros for an inferior interceptor, i dont even... If this is typical bartsmit behaviour itll be 35 msrp + 2 extra, which means lego upped the 30 euro sets to 35 across the board, as if the SW stuff wasnt expensive enough yet I might just buy the old one and color mod it Quote
Spyderlord Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Honestly guys, it was to be expected. Behold the frenzy after Dec. 18th... Quote
Pulp Detective Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Probably in January @ Nuremberg Toy Fair... Oh well I was expecting a little earlier than that.Still fingers crossed for more TFA sets coming on our way. Quote
bootz Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Already? I didn't know about that. It might even be that Hasbro would be happy to reduce the license to core products. As far as I know the license is already pretty expensive and like other licensees they were treated pretty badly when it came to the Rebels topic (no TV as originally promised when the products were out) and lost a lot of money. We will see. Back to topic, I might get some First Order Troopers (small and huge ones) next year, as I really like their design. But as an OT interested collector, I feel a bit cheated by the 2016 line-up. The Hoth set is a mess of bricks and the most awful looking Hoth set we probably ever got. The figures were easily available (one in the calendar, one in the Snowspeeder/ AT-AT years back, and the third one we got as free figure years ago. Not even a Tauntaun and the Probe Droid looks like something else, but not the one we had a couple of times - which looked like the one from the movies. The Droid Escape is nice but comes too often - we need more diversity I think. The BF battle packs are once again no real commitment to OT fans and try to balance it out to get the kids, players and collectors into the same boat, what once again doesn't work. There is just not enough inside for me as an OT fan. On the imperial side, only the technican is interesting, while the rebels would be more interesting coming with the OT hats as seen in Episode VI. Just give us battle packs with OT figures already, Lego! Imperial BP with Stormie, Officer, Droid, Scout - Rebel one with 4 camo troops - Tatooine with Jawa, 2x Sandie and Tusken. I guess I said this before but the Bespin set is not relevant to me with only one new figure and a boring build. It should have been in Final Duel size and quality with 8 figures. In total, I think Hasbro is providing much better fan service with all the minor side characters they release over the years. Lego is playing it save, too save for my opinion. We need more Aliens and side characters. And a new Dagobah set with Yodas hutt. In one sentence you say we need more aliens but in another you express your disapointment in the BF battle packs. The Rebel Alliance one has two in it, and how are they not a commitment to OT fans? That entire game is a disapointment for the fact that it's only the OT (among many, many other reasons). As for the Bespin set, I'd imagine it's more akin to the Rancor Pit than Jabba's Palace. I'm sure we'll see another set along the lines of the Palace, which you'd combine to make a "complete" Cloud City. And speaking of the Final Duel, you mention it's quality, but what is so special about it? The set design is pretty bland and the figures are nothing really new. Ive had all of them in one form or another for quite some time. For the price, I'd expect more than just a door, some windows, a staircase, and figures we've already had. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Close ups on the TFA sets for 2016 Quote
Dameronian Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Hmmmm, no B-wing like flight mode transformation for the Resistance Troop Transporter.....somewhat disappointed... Quote
Pcm979 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Hmmmm, no B-wing like flight mode transformation for the Resistance Troop Transporter.....somewhat disappointed... I thought about that, but it wouldn't really work. The poor passengers would feel like they were in a tumble-drier! Quote
Lawngnome Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I wonder if the back of the box implies Maz is a Force user pushing the stormie off his feet, or whether he's only (pre-emptively..?) reacting to the falling tree. Then again, I wouldn't want to know until after seeing the movie anyway, so don't answer that! Quote
bootz Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Lol, Admiral Ackbar with cup drinking action. I don't recall him having a drinking problem in the movies, but he had the same cup in the Mon Calamari Cruiser set. duboismerci Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 The Battle on Takodana looks like a great set. Nice minifigure collection, nice build full of play features. Kid should have a blast with it. If I collected ep VII sets I would definitively pick it up. (maybe after I see the movie.....my wallet hopes not) Quote
Richpepperell Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Lol, Admiral Ackbar with cup drinking action. I don't recall him having a drinking problem in the movies, but he had the same cup in the Mon Calamari Cruiser set. He had it in the most recent A-wing set too! He's an old lush! Quote
jhaelego Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I love how there is a decent amount of space on the inside of the Resistance Transport. I could imagine loading it up with the 4 resistance troopers from the BP. Quote
Kman860 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 They need to make/update bounty hunter figs - 4Lom & Zam Wessel +1000 I love how there is a decent amount of space on the inside of the Resistance Transport. I could imagine loading it up with the 4 resistance troopers from the BP. I knew there was a reason the speeder only sat 2..... Quote
eric729 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Our third troop transport in the past year! Quote
Faefrost Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Our third troop transport in the past year! They must sell well. Plus I think you are undercounting them. Did you include the little one in the Rebels BP? Quote
darththeling Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Hmmmm, no B-wing like flight mode transformation for the Resistance Troop Transporter.....somewhat disappointed... Disappointed how? It is listed as a transport, not a starfighter. Although I admit it does resemble a B-Wing... but that does not make it one. The interior, although with a low ceiling, looks to include some play features or at least space to hold some Rebel briefings. Looks like 4 seats. Lol, Admiral Ackbar with cup drinking action. I don't recall him having a drinking problem in the movies, but he had the same cup in the Mon Calamari Cruiser set. Yeah I was wondering about that. Maybe because he's Mon Calamari they need continual hydration or something? Was it somewhere on this forum that someone said the Battle of Takodana resembled the Temple of Bacon? I spit my drink out over that one, thanks. At last we'll finally get an answer to the question, "is there bacon in the SW universe?" Edited December 6, 2015 by darththeling Quote

rollermonkey Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) This set could quite possibly be one of the best ever: blue A-Wing, white (!) lightsabers, and (hopefully) a new Rebel pilot variation. More likely for her to show up in a new $120 Rebels version of the Blockade Runner, because most everyone want the figure to show up, she'll be in an expensive set. Nice to see the Resistance ship has an interior, even if it's not huge. Edited December 6, 2015 by rollermonkey Quote
YellowCorvette Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Wow, the features in the Resistance Transport are way better than what I expected. The Takadona set also looks good, although I kinda don't get what Maz is doing at the back box picture of the Takadona set Quote
General Magma Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) 30 years and Ackbar is still an admiral... you'd think he might've gotten a promotion in all those years. General Ackbar? Edited December 6, 2015 by General Magma Quote
rollermonkey Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Admiral is a Navy rank, General is an Army rank. Changing rank from Admiral to General would be a demotion. ;) Quote
bootz Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) He had it in the most recent A-wing set too! He's an old lush! Ah righr,ni forgot about that one! It's actually on my Christmas list too haha. As darththeling said, maybe it's for hydration, but I don't remember that ever being a thing in the movies, I'll have to pay attention when I watch ROTJ this week. Either way. It's great to see he's in the new film. Edited December 6, 2015 by bootz Quote
