Posted December 20, 20159 yr This small set has been on my radar for some time, but certain unique parts eluded me, recently i bought a lot of parts that finally garnered me those rare 1x6 and 1x7 thin liftarns in Red, after that it was just a matter of using my large parts stockpile to part out...i had everything :-) i like both the A and B, plan to build both...though i think both models are too similiar to each other in build and design. there does not appear to be a review of this set on EB, as such does anyone have any thoughts/opinions on the set they might want to share? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8283-1 http://lego.brickinstructions.com/lego_instructions/set/8283/Front-End_Loader
December 20, 20159 yr very neat looking little set, one of my favorites has always been set 9393 for it's simplicity.
December 20, 20159 yr It's a good little set, the boom is a bit lacking in my opinion, you can almost see it bowing in the picture above and then the bucket tip being controlled from the bucket, but this is of course just the limitations of the design when it comes to a low cost entry set. I'd definately buy it though Edited December 20, 20159 yr by paul_delahaye
December 20, 20159 yr It's a great little set. I really like its looks-the rigid hoses do their job and engine from ellipse liftarms is a neat feature. The ride is very smooth and the steering linkage is interesting. I absolutely love those front mudguards on top turning together with wheels. Lifting the arm is a bit problematic, because it has a lot of backlash and travel not limited. Extending and tilting work, but they are still loose. Overall, it is a playable set, but I would rather keep it on the shelf. I highly recommend it.
December 20, 20159 yr I always mirror the builded on the A-model. I think it looks best compared to a real Manitou. Edited December 21, 20159 yr by Chr.Maglekaer
December 21, 20159 yr You could replace the bucket on the A model with forks so that it is different in function to the B model if you're building both. I rarely see telehandlers here using bucket attachment. Here is my MOD version.
December 21, 20159 yr Author that is a superb idea!....that is the way to go and a better reason to build both A and B....besides, i only hav 1 bucket :-) i think the B model suits the bucket design much better then then A....cheers!!
