The Middleman Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 LEGO is better than the figures, anyway - I bought the Grievous one, it's horrible, all flimsy and bad. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 PS. Maybe interest in Lego is more accepted in Europe due to popularity, but American children seem to be expected to be adults so fast. I like to see children remain children as long as they can- and if that means playing, then it's nice to see. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I quit collecting small figures, but I did buy some of the 12" figures as well as a few exclusives. My closets are just getting too full. Quote

Darkie Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 To bring this back to topic, I played around with this a bit. There are a couple solutions I came to: 1 2 3 Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 20, 2005 Governor Posted April 20, 2005 Back off topic: I am still a child. Why can't everyone acknowledge that...? Quote

Orlego Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Hell, I'm embarassed buying it - I look older than I am. The cashiers always look at me funny. I felt that way at one time but now I look like I could be a father buying gifts for my children. The only time I feel weird is when I wear my Lego shirts or hats into a public area such as a store, park, etc. Usually I will forget that I have it on and it will not bother me until I look down and see a big minifig or Lego logo, then I will freak out. It is not as bad if the shirt is a tucked-in Polo with A small Lego logo. With the Polo I just look like a rep. for the company. :-D ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Any way to buy one of those polos? They sound nicely official-looking... Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 PS. Maybe interest in Lego is more accepted in Europe due to popularity, but American children seem to be expected to be adults so fast. I like to see children remain children as long as they can- and if that means playing, then it's nice to see. I live in the USA and your right, I'm 13 (8th grade) and if I mention the word LEGO people go crazy, like I violated some religious thing. all anyone (except for me and 3 of my close friends, we talk about LEGO all the time) talks about is cellphones, sports and upcoming dances. people need more creative hobbies. I also agree that children should not be adults untill they're ready (but 21 or higher is a bit to late) ;) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Are the 12" figures out yet? How's the Grievous one? Three of five 12" were released on Apr 2: Grievous, a Clone Trooper, and Darth Sidious. Grievous is probably the best of the figs (although the Clone Trooper is nice too). I believe two more figs were released but I haven't found them yet. They sell fast and stores only get a few of each at any one time. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 people need more creative hobbies. I also agree that children should not be adults untill they're ready (but 21 or higher is a bit to late) ;) Enjoy your youth for as long as you can and don't be ashamed of your hobby- esp. when you have friends to enjoy it with. Clickits I'm not sure about, ha, ha. But as an AFOL, I wish I could still enjoy sets like I did when I was younger. It's different now- still fun, but not the same. There's nothing wrong with playing, collecting, etc, as long as you like it. And know that those same kids that are going to the dances and trying to be cool will end up very different as they get older. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 21, 2005 Governor Posted April 21, 2005 BTW mister_phes, we DO acknowledge that :-D ;) Well tell that to those evil companies that send me the bills. Children aren't suppose to pay bills! That's just not proper. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 21, 2005 Governor Posted April 21, 2005 I'm curious to know what General Grievous has to do with Clickits... Quote
ApophisV Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Anyone have the Grievous fig? Bloody Jay, consider this as a warning! DO NOT POST OFF TOPIC THINGS! We are handling guys like you very strictly here, and you are definitivly on VERY thin ice here! :P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 21, 2005 Governor Posted April 21, 2005 How come I don't get warnings like that? Its just not fair! I want to be harassed! Quote

I merely asked because I figured Brickster might have it, and I'm interested. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 21, 2005 Governor Posted April 21, 2005 But why in this particular thread? Did you think Brickster would be reading? Quote
The Middleman Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 But why in this particular thread? Did you think Brickster would be reading? A few posts above in this thread, he said: ' Three of five 12" were released on Apr 2: Grievous, a Clone Trooper, and Darth Sidious. Grievous is probably the best of the figs (although the Clone Trooper is nice too). I believe two more figs were released but I haven't found them yet. ApophisV Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 I hope nobody took my previous post too serious... :$ Quote
jonfett Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 I stopped taking you seriously a long time ago Apo! :P ;) Jon. Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 kids that are going to the dances and trying to be cool I know TONS of people like that, if only they had an iterest in lego, one can dream... :( Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Anyone have the Grievous fig? Yes, I bought it Apr 2. It's a very nice fig and from what I heard from friends is that it's also the hardest to find. The reason we're talking about Grievous vs. Clickits is because even non-Lego Grievous is a better topic than Clickits... *devil* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 22, 2005 Governor Posted April 22, 2005 What's wrong with Clikits? They're sooooooooo pretty! Quote
