Governor Mister Phes Posted April 29, 2005 Governor Posted April 29, 2005 LEGO should hire you as a design consultant Master Yoda. You could bridge Clikits with all the other themes! Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 True, True. Actually, now that I'm intregued by Clickits, I will one of these days post something here that will integrate nicely clickits into SYSTEM sets ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 29, 2005 Governor Posted April 29, 2005 Have you acquired any Clikits as yet? I haven't seen any on eBay in my neck of the woods. Haven't checked BrickLink though. They're probably in toy stores but I have issues against buying LEGO that isn't on sale for about half price these days. Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 I'll have to check TRU this week end to see if they have a PIB (for the Lego Shop Database), and I might consider a small set with an Imperial Inspection that is - I will drive 60 kms for a clickits set. I'll let you know, if I can use some clickits parts on ships... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 30, 2005 Governor Posted April 30, 2005 Errrrr.... What does PIB and TRU stand for? Looks like it might be time to expand the glossary again... Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 mister_phes, The first acronym is a typo: it should read PAB for "Pick A Brick" TRU stands for Toys R US BTW imagine, NO Clickits sets whatsoever, this is weird *wacko* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 30, 2005 Governor Posted April 30, 2005 Do Clikits come in sets? They just look like groups of girlie items in a box to me. Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Do Clikits come in sets? They just look like groups of girlie items in a box to me. Actually no idea - I would imagine so for smaller sets but who knows??? TLC has a tendency to create fancy packaging these days (mini racers, Bionicle). Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 30, 2005 Governor Posted April 30, 2005 Do they appear on BrickLink? I rarely see them on eBay. Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Here is the list of Clikits sets: http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Query=clikits The have quite a lot!!!! I'm impressed ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 30, 2005 Governor Posted April 30, 2005 My goodness! There is a few! So why don't I see many for sale on the second hand market? Quote
The Middleman Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 My goodness! There is a few! So why don't I see many for sale on the second hand market? Because those that buy them are not the sort of people that resell LEGO pieces. I.e. young preppy girls. Quote
bigfatslob Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 Hi Athos and the rest of you guys. I've worked a little w/ Clikits as adornments on a few of my mocs. What I can tell you is that they connect basically one of two ways. 1) A technic pin ( which happens to be the same diameter as a standard Lego system stud ) connects to one type of flower or heart or star. 2) The other type will tightly snap into a technic pin hole OR into a Clikit adaptor ( a few are provided w/ most Clikit sets ) and the adaptors will then snap over a technic pin or sinigle stud (barely). Here are some examples of Clikits in use with Robots/Mechas/Bionicles : I hope you can see where the Clikits were used, sorry for the poor photography (poor camera). bfs Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 You used clickits on that? :oD Maybe I should get some ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 1, 2005 Governor Posted May 1, 2005 It certainly does make them look prettier! Now we can introduce Bionicles for girls... Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Thanks so much BFS for showing that indeed Clikits can be integrated in awsome ways to SYSTEM & BIONICLE. Really awsome BIONICLE/Clikits Mocs (hey its a BIOCLIK :-D ). I really like the white one with that blue cikits - it really looks great ;) Thanks for sharing ;) Quote
snefroe Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 there was a clickits question on belug.be as well... it seems these pieces are Lego compatible, but according to some one on belug, they're produced in China and distributed by TLC. the writer seems to remember having seen the text "made in China" on the clickits box. they're not a lego product, it seems. i can't verify this, i don't have clickits Quote

As far as I know, they're still produced and distributed by TLC. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2005 Governor Posted May 7, 2005 Headlines... The Clikits Conspiracy Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 That IP story just broke out last christmas. here is what I found: In California, two women have sued Lego for allegedly stealing their design for one of last year Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2005 Governor Posted May 7, 2005 But this time its LEGO doing the stealing of ideas. What hypocrits!!! Quote
The Middleman Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 It doesn't sound like LEGO to do something so BLATANTLY illegal as ask for a demonstration and then steal the idea. Still, I hope they come out of it alright. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 8, 2005 Governor Posted May 8, 2005 If they've committed wrong they should be severely punished! If they've been wrongly accused their accusers chould be severely punished! Quote
Darkie Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Of course, if it is true and the did PAY for the idea, then the company may not have known there was any wrongdoing in the first place. Shame for not checking it out thoroughly, but it is possible they were decieved. Especially by an American. ;) Quote
