After the Response in This Thread and me Being sick and tired of the term "Goblin" :-X I decided to do a little poll/debate

Later to the close the poll is a Special EB edition Comic Made by yours Truly( :-P )

TLC calls them "Troll Warriors" which I think is PERFECT however some members(I won't mention names)*Cough*Shakar*cough*( :-D )refer to them as Goblins.(Ugh *n* )

I say troll warriors because thats exactly what they are! ;-)

I almost like Troll Warrior (sorry Piranha) but I think I like orcs better. They look more like orcs to me than anything else and I have been calling them orcs ever since we first saw them. Besides, Orcs is easier to say than "Troll Warrior"

I prefer the term GOBLIN. :-P

Troll warrior seems to fit the big guys much better in my opinion.

I voted Goblin.

Troll worrier? I picture trolls as being short, hairy, and husky.

Ogre? I picture them as being large...

Goblin? No problems there...small, green, and oogly

Orc? It's basically LotR for goblin...

Now that I look they are vey 'goblin' esk. Espeically when comparing these 'trolls' to the HP troll ~ sand green vs. sand blue! X-D

good point hink. I was going to say the same thing myself. Especially since today i presented a study on religion for my psychology class and as part of the study we distributed a survey we made to a number of classes in the school. Ours was probably one of the least biased goups.

I voted for orc but i was leaning towards troll warrior and may have picked goblin if the poll wasnt so biased.

Now, no matter what any of you say or how this poll ends up I am right, orc suits them because:

a) It is easy to write

b) trolls are usually huge, goblins are almost always frail, and ogres are also always large. orc fits perfect because they are human sized.

c) this is a LOTR ripoff anyway, so orc goes in!

d) I'm right and no one can disprove me!

So thats the case gentlemen, the logic is undeniable, orc it is, close the thread! X-D

I'm going with goblins, as that's what I had already settled with after a long debate with myself. Now, make a thread for the larger goblins, or as I call them, the trolls! No I don't. I call them ogres. Hey, you listen here, they're trolls! Well, the green ones may be, but the dark tan one is definitely an ogre! Ah, touch

okay so i just read this thread and its actually the thing made me actually take the time to sign up so that i could throw my opinion out there. i completely agree with BatBrick. well maybe not that you're all losers, but that the orcs (or troll warriors, for you biased people) are stollen right from Tolkien. the entire premise of the new sets is LOTR, think about it dwarves, orcs, ogres, etc. it really sounds like TLC watched a movie and said hey theres a good idea but they didn't want to try to buy a license (thank god cause that would jack the price and result in more fleshies) so they changed things just enough so that they could get the point across with out getting their butts sued. whatever i guess it doesn't really matter to me but if i would have to explain them to some one i would def just say that they are like orcs from LOTR

They are Orcs, because Goblins are tiny little creatures where as Orcs are human sized. An Orc is a formidable warrior, a Goblin is a little runt then you can kick away.

In most fantasy literature (most notably LOTR) trolls are essentially described as big oversized brutes, whereas orcs are depicted as being roughly human sized. Not only that, "orc & troll" are just easier to say or type than "troll warrior & giant troll". So I completely agree with Batbrick on all accounts... even the fourth one this time! :-D

P.S. Seeing which way the poll is going, I'd say most agree with Batbrick and myself.

There was propaganda? I just voted because thats what I see them as. I'm a veteran of Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 damnit! I know what an Orc/Ork is! It's a human sized green killing machine!
