MAB Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Small price to pay, in my opinion. When you look at these, I prefer the regular unbendable ones. Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 When you look at these, I prefer the regular unbendable ones. sitting is a bit odd. but being able to walk is stop motions is nice Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 I just feel like articulating the short legs makes the wonky proportions too obvious. Quote
x105Black Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I just feel like articulating the short legs makes the wonky proportions too obvious. Well the wonkiness of the proportions is pretty obvious already. I don't think this makes that any worse, but it does make the mobility much better. Quote
Junior Shark Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 That's possibly worse than the 3D printed human heads. They honestly look like someone with a growth disorder (no offense to people with growth disorders). Quote
rob-ot5000 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 When you look at these, I prefer the regular unbendable ones. Huh. Before seeing these, my thoughts were, "sure, they might look funky sitting down, but it would be nice to be able to make them walk." But after seeing them, I think my opinion has flipped: they look funky when walking, but they look great when sitting down! Doesn't matter either way though, I suppose! Quote
Robert8 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 When you look at these, I prefer the regular unbendable ones. Those would work for some minifigures, like the S5 Small Clown But it wouldn't work for others Quote

It depends how the figure print is done. For Hobbits, as an example, the printing on the torso is their waist, so the legs would be bending forwards part way down the leg rather than where the hips are. Quote

For Hobbits, as an example, the printing on the torso is their waist, so the legs would be bending forwards part way down the leg rather than where the hips are. I guess that's a valid point. For some minifigures, it might not work as well. Still, the static short legs annoy me to the point that I replace them and never have short people in my builds. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Maybe it's time LEGO proportioned the minifgure torso into a new mold to actually match the shorter legs. That way it'll be a perfect child minifigure from head to toe. Quote
MAB Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Maybe it's time LEGO proportioned the minifgure torso into a new mold to actually match the shorter legs. That way it'll be a perfect child minifigure from head to toe. The problem with that is that children become even more obese than they already are, if they keep the width. And if they start changing widths, then we lose the modularity of not being able to swap parts between figures. Quote

Robert8 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Does this mean the Series 16 bag could be different to what we saw? Edited April 9, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
Tech Artist Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) Does this mean the Series 16 bag could be different to what we saw? Design wise, possibly. Character wise, no(by that I mean the characters looking different). Edited April 10, 2016 by Tech Artist Quote
Staslegomaster Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Does anybody know if it's possible to swap your own mini figures in LEGOLAND, Billund? I'll visit it in MAY. Many thanks Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Does anybody know if it's possible to swap your own mini figures in LEGOLAND, Billund? I'll visit it in MAY. Many thanks No and yes. No, there isn't a place set for such. Yes, you can look for people inside the park and ask them if they want to swap, but I think it's quite difficult. Quote
BrickOn Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) Not sure where Itaria No Shintaku got that from, but perhaps its a little out of date. I was there with my bf Sept 2015, and swapping was the best bit (one of the best bits). So Yes Stas definitely you can. There is an official "swap-shop" in the middle of the park, where you can trade the official lego minifgures, i.e. minifigures that have come from official sets and CMF, here they also sell CMFs and build your own minifigs incase you need more to swap with. All employs wear name tags with lego minifigs on, you can swap with them, they just might be mixed up crazy ones, they might not be though. You should probably refrain from knocking the kids over and stealing theirs ;-), tempting as it is, but everything else I mentioned is fair game :-) This is a collections of our swaps: Our minifigure trades and other Lego, on Flickr Edited April 13, 2016 by BrickOn Quote
jjr_2009 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Do we know the gender of the wildlife photographer or the hiker yet? I'm really looking forward to this series! Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I think the photographer is female and the hiker is a male, I dunno yet. Quote
telaruhn Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 That question makes me wonder... Will Lego ever increase the number of females in a regular-numbered series to six? I mean, the five this time around are the Ice Queen, Babysitter, Cyborg, Wildlife Photographer, and Kickboxer Girl. But from the rest of the list, I don't think there would be another female... I know the Disney ones aren't out yet, but now I'm getting excited for these! Especially the ones we haven't seen yet. However, I don't expect pictures until a few more months... Quote
Brickity Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 This series is looking pretty good so far. The pirate, mariachi, "forest guy", cyborg and ice queen are immediate must-haves. With series 15 it was really weird for me, the queen and warrior seemed so incredible before I got them, and after getting them, it's just MEH :/ Quote
jjr_2009 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I actually really liked Series 15--I especially love the queen and the faun. From what little we have seen of Series 16, I really like the babysitter and the ice queen. Quote
