marshal_banana Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) The Millennium Falcon is still the coolest spaceship in the galaxy! I was tearing up, as I saw the first trailer for the Force Awakens and even more so as the Falcon was finally flying again over the big screen! Chewy, we're home. I have always wanted to build my own version. Even having the UCS version in my collection, but there was always a desire left for a MOC! Inspired by Mikes, WIP-images on flickr, I was encouraged to start my own project. It took me a whole year to accomplish this build. My goal was to create a fully detailed hull, right proportions, adding lights (LEGO PF) and presenting the ship on a simple stand with one beam connecting to the main frame, which was a huge task! Measuring: 82 cm x 54 cm x 18 cm Weight: approx. 10 kg Parts count: approx. 7500 pieces Credits to ScottishDave for his original design of the radar dish. I like to share more pictures and information about my project in this topic with work in progress images and more details really soon. I am proud how this creation came together – I hope you like it as well. Edited December 27, 2015 by marshal_banana Quote
Artemis78 Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Woah that's awesome, is there an inside too ? And if not, do you plan to make it one day ? Quote

Hold0511 Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 That is one of the best MFs I've ever seen - fab! Quote
Tariq j Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Very good sir! The top is nicely smoothed up, the greebling is good. I too would love to see an inventory. Quote
PaulPrime Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Oh, it's beautiful. I like the attention put in the underside. Does it have an interior? Quote
TheBear Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) Ever since seeing Psiaki's unfinished version I have liked the idea of scaling a Millennium Falcon around the size of the windscreen piece, and thought if he ever finished his it would blow the UCS version away. You have gone and done exactly that. Your model looks absolutely perfect to me, I can't see how it could be any better. Not only are the proportions spot on, but the detailing too. Most people seem to put too many greebles and too much dark grey in the mix, but yours has the perfect balance. Congratulations, I am sure it was a huge amount of work. Ephseb Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 "I wouldn't have made much of a smuggler if you knew my freighter from any other. But I was offended that you didn't recognize my voice on the comm" I like this more than any official version released so far. Impressive work! Quote
Lobot Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Amazing work marshal, and if you decide to submit it as an Ideas project I’m sure that it will get the recognition that it deserves Quote
khatmorg Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) It looks amazeballs, that first picture blew my mind. Very impressive indeed. I'd love to hear more about the project it looks like a massive undertaking no doubt. The cockpit tube thing looks spot on, can't imagine anyone doing a better job. The amount of detail overall seems just right. The mandibles look a bit too wide though and placed apart a tad too far, or perhaps the front is a tad too long I dunno. If you superimpose one of those top-down blueprint pictures over the model you'll see what I mean. In any case it looks soooo much better than the UCS model, which I always thought was overrated. deanorth Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 It's perfect, accurate, beautifull, curved like kate upton (whoops:D), it's what the ucs could look like in the future (if there's a future:)) Chapeau bas, marshal_banana sensei:) Quote
will Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Very impressive, would love to see more pics. Quote
patrick40 Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 I just saw pictures posted of this on Facebook, and was amazed by it. And just see it here in this thread, just wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the UCS set everyone is waiting for! What a amazing build! Hope too see more pics of this amazing looking Millenium Falcon. Quote
Space Police XVIII Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 I'm impressed by, not sure what to call it, the balance of tiles and visible studs. The hull looks very sleek, but still greebly and complicated. Beautiful job. Quote
Schneeds Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) Impressive. Most impressive. Empire quotes aside, that engine section is just amazing. Edited December 27, 2015 by Schneeds Quote
Dameronian Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 It took me a few moments to realize this is Lego! At first glance it looked like movie model. Awesome Quote
ScottishDave Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) I'm rather blown away by this. I've kept coming back to look at it all day, and I keep seeing new cool things! As you noted, it is clearly inspired by Mike Psiaki's unfinished WIP, and that makes me smile - I've always wanted to see a completed version of that model. I love what you've done with the droid arms on the engines, I'm delighted to see 6x6 dishes used for exhaust ports (an idea I've considered myself for the UCS version), and I think that the rounded cockpit tube looks stunning. As I said earlier on flickr: I'm pleased that you chose to use my radar dish design, and I love the improvements you made to it. I need to get me some silver 4-way wrenches :-). rollermonkey Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 ...and just like that, the idea of a new, even better UCS Falcon seems all too plausible. Bravo. Quote
Junior Shark Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Cowabunga! Mind= blown. Interior at all? If there is, I think I may succumb to a sheer awesomeness-induced death. And you're right, the MF is the coolest spaceship in the galaxy! Quote
