Zerobricks Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I just checked the LXF file, and I would suggest you to fix the colors: 1. The gray is too light, should be medium stone gray, not light stone gray 2. The sand colored gears should be in brick yellow, not nougat. Other than that, good work again! Quote
Lipko Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Thank you for the comments! A short video about the functions: Also I'm making instructions with MLcad. I will complete a less detailed version in the following weeks, detailed enough for anyone with little experience to build. I will see how it goes and make a properly detailed version. I will make some renders/versions with different colors, especially for the interior (my girlfriend couldn't get used to this red interior, she calls it attention whoreish). Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Great video of a great car  Quote

I'm collecting parts for this car now. If you need someone to test your LDraw instructions, I volunteer! I'd also be willing to help you with the formatting if you would like. Quote
Polo-Freak Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) I have build the Car last Night, only from the LDD File Very Nice Supercar Edited March 14, 2016 by Polo-Freak Quote
Lipko Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 Thanks for the interest! Pop-Freak, the model looks good in blue! The instructions are coming along, but very slowly. With my current tempo, I think I need a month to finish them. Quote
Lipko Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 The MLCad file is ready for a while but I finally added the LSyth parts. Unfortunately the model misses some parts (the file I use for making the instructions is correct now) I did a quick render: You can find the mlcad file here: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/szecs/2015-supercar/LDD/2015_supercar_001.mpd The instructions are coming along very slowly. Blakbird Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I'm getting pretty stoked to build this thing! Quote
Lipko Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 Instruction making speeds up, I will have a draft but buildable version in a few days. Quote
jus1973 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 A stunning MOC. I guess you're like me, build with what you have, and hope the colours don't look too bad when you finish. BTW LDD file has 2 parts placed incorrectly, so removed them. When i finally get round to having all parts for this, I'll figure out which ones and let you know. Quote
Blakbird Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I've done an internal render and a revolution. I have to keep myself busy until the instructions are ready! Now that the CAD file is ready, I can easily make renders in other colors if people wonder what it might look like. It is easy to make renders but not so easy to come up with something actually buildable. The picture above cannot be built because some of the blue panels do not exist and many of the seat parts do not exist in dark gray. The exterior highlights could easily be red instead of orange, and the interior could be black instead of red. Beyond that, it gets tricky! Quote
Lipko Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for posting the internal render, I noticed a small mistake (axle between the differential and the gearbox was not properly placed). Quote
Blakbird Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for posting the internal render, I noticed a small mistake (axle between the differential and the gearbox was not properly placed). I think it is in the right place but missing an axle joiner. Quote

Lipko Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 I got to the point where I officially give up making the instructions. LPub keeps throwing the positioned callouts randomly. If I reopen the saved file with the corrected positions, some of the steps screw up the already positioned stuff. Positioning callouts and steps mean 5 minutes of positioning, because after dragging the callout or step, the step gets to a totally random position, often off the paper. Editing the source file in LPub means crash. Printing to PDF (in the hope that it speeds up LPub a bit to pre-render everything), I have to press cancel on the generic WinXP "app has crashed, send report?" window 50 times (even Acrobat reader crashed just now with the output file...) And of course I updated to the latest LPub. Rant over. I'm asking for help to finish the instructions on which I have been working since 3 months now. I think for you experienced builders, it shouldn't take long to finalize the instructions (probably I'm either doing something wrong in the MLCad file, or LPub is only buggy on my system). Here is the final stepped file with rotations, arrows and other buffer-exchange parts: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/szecs/2015-supercar/LDD/2015_supercar_001_final.mpd Note, that the the LSynth is not run yet, but the LSynth commands are there. Thanks for the help in advance! Quote

Don't worry Lipko, based on your description I know exactly what the problem is. Feel free to contact me offline to discuss. If you like, I can finish up the instructions for you. Quote

DrJB Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Are those rims custom (3D printed) ? I do not recall seeing them in any official Lego set. Quote
jono rocky Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 This is a stunning car. The colour scheme looks just as good in the orange as the blue. This is a definate build, my eldest son is iching to build it but wants to do it from your instructions when there done. Quote
