TheNextLegoDesinger Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Hy i'm back with another crawler saidly i'm not that good at making good astetics, lukkely functionallity is much better. here some pics DSC_0064 by thenextlegodesinger, on Flickr DSC_0065 by thenextlegodesinger, on Flickr DSC_0067 by thenextlegodesinger, on Flickr at first i wanted to make a crawler with positive caster but it was the worst steering i had ever seen so i remade the axles so they are now negative. the front and rear axle are identical. What i wanted to make was a crawler with good power and steering which is achieved. now i have to make a body around it. ideas are welcome. TNLD Quote
JJ2 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 It has potential but how were you making the +caster? Were you angling the portal hubs? Another way to make caster is so simply angle the whole axle after the power ball frame. Another thing is I think the wheelbase is just a little to small and the top is to tall if you want to put body on it, it would be to top heavy. Sorry for all the negative comments but I am just trying to help. Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I also dont want to be rude, but I would suggest you to redo the whole design... The front end sticks way too much, the suspension angle is way too high and the frame is way too high... Use 9398 as a reference and try to work from there. Quote
AndyCW Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 There is potential in this design, but you do need to lower the suspension and lower the chassis. What's the pole reverser for? v/r Andy Quote

Sorry for all the negative comments but I am just trying to help. i made the caster by making an angle on the axle but then the steering was terrible so i ditched it. the body will start around 4-5 studs lower because the suspention allows it. i really like the wheelbase but i know i could use the 9398 as a refference. and maybe i'm going to make the angle lower but the pic is so bad that it looks huge but it isn't same for the front it doesn't stik out as much as it seams, only 0.5 studs in front of the wheels Quote
