I got this yesterday and watched it last night. I found it much more fun to watch now than it was in the cinema 6 months ago. I really enjoyed the battle at Pelanor field but I found the ending(s) annoying this time. I haven't watched the extras yet but I hope to tonight. And I can't wait for the Extended edition in October/November! :D

Around October/November I think. I can't wait to see the extra scenes, ecspecially all the scenes with Saruman which were taken out of the cinema release.

That bit won't happen, because Saruman is killed at the beginning of the Return of the King Extended Edition. They didn't even film the scene you talked about.

Aaawww :( The Scouring of the Shire was one of my favourite chapters in the book.

One scene I know that will be included is Gandalfs confrontation with the witch-king. I saw this on a few trailers but it wasn't on the film!

saruman gets killed in THE BEGINNING of rotk?!? where do you know this from?!?

Peter Jackson (the director) has said that Saruman dies at the beginning. I know how he dies aswell, but I won't tell you how, so I doesn't spoil you.

I will just add a small warning for those who have not read the book.

In the book the hobbits return to the Shire and it is being controlled by Saruman. When they are encountered, wormtounge kills Saruman (I can't remember how, I think he slits his throat) and then runs away but is shot by arrows.

If there is no scouring of the shire then he must be killed when they see him at Orthanc, I think this must be in one of the beginning scenes when Gandalf and Theoden go there.
