I've never been a big fan of LEGO's speeder bikes, so I tried to rework them. Here's the album: http://imgur.com/gallery/6gmW3/new

Credit to Larry Lars for inspiration. My goal was to create a model that looks similar to his 2009(ish?) version, while using new pieces and techniques to improve durability and aesthetics. The way the stabilization bars (for lack of a better term) attach in the front is essentially the same as the Lars version, while the rest has undergone some significant redesigns. I also spent a lot of time trying to improve the way the front bars attach, since they rattle a bit, but I came up short. While there are more durable ways to connect the bars, they don't look nearly as nice.

Thanks, I agree on the size but I decided that I was OK with the somewhat cartoony scale if it meant a sturdier build They're also less than 2 studs longer than the official versions -- looks a bit deceiving in the comparison picture. The extra length mostly comes from having the minifigures legs swept back and adding detail to the back section. Oh wells.

Also, here are directions, if anyone is interested: http://imgur.com/a/s7bWl

I love the look of the scout and snow troopers.. They look so simple & clean. I might pick some up myself for my collection. Are you interested in any storm troopers from the Death Star 10188 set?

Let's not solicit sales in the general forum. We have a place for that in the buy/sell/trade forum for long time members with high post counts (and don't try to bump your post count just for that) but I would go to Ebay or Bricklink before soliciting members here. The forum is supposed to be about MOCs and LEGO sets, not about soliciting sales.

Oh ok, yeah I didn't know that trading isnt a part of this forum. Well thanks for telling me, my bad.

On another note, you might want to remove those ski-type thing from the brown speeders because it doesn't feel right to have that there if its purpose is to use on snow. If that's not the purpose then they're just fine though.

Edit: Just noticed you said it is all-terrian, meaning its capable of going on snow too. So that's perfect. All you need now is a green one and maybe some kashyyyk scouts to drive it =]

Look really good. I like how the white has been made smoother, and really like that underside cannon! Considering most other lego sets and the proportions of minifigs themselves, I think the scale looks fine for the amount of extra detailing you get for it!

Thanks, that's my view, too. If you think about it, a lot of smaller sets and vehicles are not really to scale with real life. The Lego versions of the DeLorean and the Ghostbusters Cadillac both would be much longer than the real life vehicles they are based on if a minifigure is supposed to represent be a six-foot-long human. The cars that seat a single minifigure in the middle of the vehicle are more "to scale" but they sacrifice other kinds of realism and detail to do that. I'd rather have the detail and treat most small Lego vehicles as being stylized in a typically "Lego" way. In any event, the official speederbike suffers from the same issue, since mine's only like 1.5 studs longer.
