Posted January 1, 20169 yr What's a good way of mounting a AAA battery box to a vehicle for example? I'm modifying a 42037 and this is my first ever attempt at an RC vehicle.
January 1, 20169 yr Eeeh, are you sure you'd want a AAA box? An AA is better for technic models because it uses pins instead of studs and looking at the picture you have on spare you could use. I'm not familiar with RC vehicles but it is best to have the battery box low so the model won't tip over as easily. I think the best would be mounting it upright (like this)because sideways needs more space, something your model doesn't seem to have;) Edited January 1, 20169 yr by THERIZE
January 1, 20169 yr I haven't been MOCing for very long, but I either 'cradle' this type of battery box, or use these types of parts on the back.
January 1, 20169 yr Author @therize I do because of the huge difference in weight. @Chade that's perfect didn't even consider it! Thanks!
January 2, 20169 yr I generally cradle it. Build a technic frame around it, and a top that can easily open/ remove to pull the box out.
January 2, 20169 yr Hey, does anyone know the exact difference in weight between the 3 different battery boxes (like in grams or something)? (Preferably with batteries installed because AA weight much more than AAA). I only have the AA one. Edited January 2, 20169 yr by ez3141
January 2, 20169 yr http://www.philohome.com/batteries/bat.htm That link has exact specs, as well as a ton of other great information on power functions and the like. Specifically, the AA is heaviest, AAA is middle, and rechargeable box is lightest.

January 2, 20169 yr There are a number of ways. One that I think works well is using two 4x4 technic bricks with open centers (part 32324). You can also use 4 pairs of 11458 plus 18677 on the top and bottom with bracing so they don't come appart.
January 3, 20169 yr just smush the studs into pin holes. it may not be pretty or the "correct" way of doing it but boy does it hold it good
