LEGO Maniac JEM Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I was thinking about that, too, LEGO Maniac JEM!Do you mean a set based on the old sets like http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/1589-1?showpic=5770 or http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/1592-1?showpic=5761 ? That would be great! A proposal for this idea: Town Square 1. Bank a bank in black and grey colours with lots of big windows, consisting of two floors: first floor: counter with computer, safe, big foliage plant, bancomat inside and bancomat outside second floor: writing table with computer and telephone, three seats, a little foliage plant and a little cupboard with a coffee machine including some gold pieces, some bills, two cups and a suitcase minifigs: two bankers (one male and one female) and a salesman (2. Greengrocer a greengrocer's shop in white and green colours, consisting of only one floor: rack on the one side and table with cash box on the other side including some boxes and a huge assortment of fruits and vegetables minifigs: greengrocer and woman 3. Hotel a noble hotel in yellow and white colours, consisting of two floors: first floor: entrance with revolving door, reception with telephone and key boxes (behind the reception) and two seats with a little table second floor: guestroom with bed, writing table with telephone, seat and a little foliage plant; bath room with washbasin and toilet (a shower would be nice but I fear that there is too little place) including two suitcases and three keys minifigs: hotelier and suitcase carrier 4. Knight Statue a statue in the form of a totally black knight on a white stand including a dog minifig: old man with walking stick 5. Limousine And Greengrocer Delivery Van a black limousine with doors in the front (where the driver sits) and with doors back (where the rich man/woman sits) a white-green greengrocer delivery van (similar to the delivery van in the "Pizza to Go" set from 199?) with doors in the front and doors behind to load the van (similar to the new post car from 2008) What do you think? Is this something you thought about, too, LEGO Maniac JEM? (Another wish/idea/proposal will follow in about 20 minutes!) Actually, I was thinking that 10184 is in a 1950's style so what about a set which has a large interior of a multilevel indoor shopping centre/mall in the style of indoor shopping centres/malls in the 1970s. On the internet I look at sites which have pictures of malls taken in the 1970s and I love the bright colours and all that reflective mirror stuff, and the weird unusual Architecture that you just don't see anymore because shopping centres now are too toned down and boring. The Lego set could have escalators, lifts, a large department store, a large supermarket and several specialty stores that you would find in a typical shopping centre. :'-) I didn't mean 1970s style Lego, but now that I think about it, your idea sounds awesome! *sweet* And to go back to the 70s properly, ALL the lego in the set would HAVE to be made in Denmark. :-$ Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 (edited) The idea of an old styled shopping center is very nice, too, LEGO Maniac JEM! I only fear that TLC would never release something big like that although this would be a very good idea and would imply a lot of playability. (We already discussed this on http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...pic=9448&st=0.) Iteration 1-Town1. first building (Motel) with three minifigs (owner, 2 civilians) 2. second building (Bus stop) with two minifigs (civilians) 3. third building (Supermarket) with three minifigs (2 Grocers, civilian) 4. little addition (Streetlights) with one minifig (civilian) 5. two vehicles or something other (toll booth and civilian car) Iteration 1.5-Trains 1. first building (2nd station, goes along with new train station) with three minifigs (2Workers, civilian) 2. second building (track crossing) with two minifigs (civilians) 3. third building (depot) with three minifigs (workers) 4. little addition (Train line) with one minifig (civilian) 5. two vehicles or something other (train cars, civilian car) iteration 1.8-Beach (sort of a return to paradisa!!) 1. first building (Coast guard stand) with three minifigs (2 beachgoers, lifeguard) 2. second building (Changing room) with two minifigs (a man, and the same man in a swimsuit) 3. third building (drink/snack shop) with three minifigs (Worker, 2 beachgoers plus plenty of food and drink) 4. little addition (Towel 'n' umbrella) with one minifig (beachgoer) 5. two vehicles or something other (Crabbing boat, 4x4 truck) I like these ideas, maiq the liar! A motel and a supermarket are (parts of sets) TLC should actually release in the near future. Super Sets (which are mainly constructed for AFOLs and only available on S@H, in the Legolands and in special toy shops) would be a very good possibiltiy in which they could be included if TLC thinks releasing sets like shops, hotels, banks, office buildings, apartment houses, etc. in normal toy shops would be a too high financial risc (which I personally don't believe). A big train set similar to the Airport Shuttle from 1989/90 would be great and a depot would be very necessary, too. Mainly the beach Super Set sounds very promising to me and is nothing which has been proposed until now. Very nice! Edited November 6, 2007 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
SavaTheAggie Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 My idea would be like the Town Plan set, with 50's architcture and style. Klaus-Dieter Posted November 7, 2007 Author Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) Your idea of a City of the Future is great, Piranha! I'd like space sets as long as they don't get too much futuristic and fantasy based. My idea would be like the Town Plan set, with 50's architcture and style.Building 1 - Bowling Alley Building 2 - Post Office Building 3 - Laundromat Accessories - Post Office Box, Pay phone Vehicles - Mail truck, Hudson Hornet --Tony That's a very nice idea, SavaTheAggie! The bowling alley sounds very good. And having pay phones would be nice, too. Since there will be the post car and the post plane next year I hope that TLC is going to release a post office (with hopefully two floors) this or next year, too! Of course it would be great if this post office would be designed in an old style e. g. similar to the very nice yellow central station of the year 1990/1991 (?)! I think yellow would actually be the best color for a post office. By the way: What is a "Hudson Hornet"? I don't know this word and didn't find it in the dictionary. Is that a big truck? Here a new idea for a City "Super Set": Crossroad 1. Pharmacy and Doctor's Office a house in white and grey colours, consisting of two floors: first floor: pharmacy with counter with computer and cash box, apothecary cabinet and little foliage plant second floor: doctor's office with divan bed, writing table with computer, telephone and two seats including some medicaments minifigs: doctor, patient and female pharmacist 2. Little Police Office a police office in white and black colors, consisting of two floors: first floor: gate with desk with computer and telephone, seat and big foliage plant second floor: office with writing table with computer, telephone, two seats and little foliage plant including a radio set and a grey suitcase minifigs: two police officers 3. Restaurant a nice restaurant in yellow and white colors, consisting only of one floor: bar with taps, two tables each with 2-3 seats and a big foliage plant including some cups, some tumblers and a tray minifigs: waiter and female citizen 4. Advertising Column an advertising column with advertisements on it including a ladder, a bucket and a big brush minifig: male citizen 5. Car And Police Car a green little car (four wide and with doors) a black police car (four wide and with doors) Edited November 7, 2007 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted November 8, 2007 Author Posted November 8, 2007 (edited) Thank you for the pic, SavaTheAggie! I've got a new idea for a (Classic) Castle "Super Set": Attack On The King's Village First of all an explanation: The following set proposal is a proposal for a desired set that would be much bigger than a "Super Set" - it would more be like a "Hyper Super Mega ... Set" or something similar to that. It would surely cost more than 150 Euros - perhaps 250 Euros - but I would nevertheless like and buy it after having saving my money for it. But you could even divide this set into two seperate ones. The buildings 1-5 should each include a fragment of a medieval city wall in order to make all these buildings looking together like a whole little medieval town. The seperate buildings should be able to put together with a linking brick (like in the old Classic Castle sets in the eighties). The minifigs should look nice! For the king and his knights the classic king's knights from 1995, the Knights Kingdom 1 king's knights or the new "Castle" king's knights could be used. For the dragon knights the dragon knights from 1990 or the ones from 1993 could be used. This set would include medieval civil town buildings, stuff and minifigs without loosing the playability and action aspect and without making the fantasy aspect relevant. So it would be suitable for us AFOLs as well as for JFOLs. 1. King's Donjon With Standpost a little standpost and the king's donjon in grey colors, consisting of two floors: first floor: king's throne room with throne, big chimney and a long table with seats on its left and right side second floor: king's sleeping room with canopy bed, treasure box and little table with seat including the king's horse with an adorned saddle, a falcon, a homer, a busket to carry the water from the standpost to the donjon, some cups and tumblers, some gold pieces, a letter and the king's scepter minifigs: king, king's wife and king's little son 2. Inn an inn in grey colors but also with some yellow timber framing, consisting of two floors: first floor: chimney with cooking site and a table with 3-4 seats second floor: left side: little guestroom with bed and oil lamp, right side: little "balcony" including a pot, a pan, some tumblers and a chicken minifigs: innkeeper and king's knight 3. Medieval Farm With Field a medieval farm in red timber framing, consisting only of one floor: cooking site in the middle, sleeping site on the left and stable on the right side including some tumblers, a dog, two pigs, a cow, a plug, a shovel, some fences and a field with some vegetables minifigs: farmer and his wife 4. King's Villiage's Drawbridge a drawbridge in black or brwon colors with big doors, a portcullis and a machicolation above including a horse minifigs: king's knight and king's knight on horse 5. Blacksmith Shop an open blacksmith shop in grey colors, consisting only of one floor: chimney and ambos including some tools and some weapons minifigs: blacksmith 6. Siege Tower, Tent And Catapult a siege tower with a drawbridge a catapult a big tent with a table, a seat, a treasure box and the dragon knight's master's throne including the dragon master's horse with an adorned saddle, some tools, some gold pieces, some tumblers and some stones for the catapult minifigs: dragon master and three dragon knights What do you think? This set would include a lot of playability for JFOLs and a lot of nice stuff AFOLs like (new buildings, new cars, different minifigs) in one set. This is the condition for a set to have success - I directly would buy it! How about a times square setup?Billboards! Cars! Buildings! Broadway! That's a nice idea, too, Lt. Col. Thok! But I think that TLC should leave the path of releasing sets which are directly copied from real existing special buildings and create their own buildings which you can't assign to a special city. The simply reason for this is that these sets are all-purpose. So everybody wants to buy them. And you can create your own Lego City which isn't part of a real existing city which - at least - I find much more interesting. Edited November 15, 2007 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Thanks for the feedback, Klaus-Dieter! When I say set up, I'm going for the general similar-but-not-exactly-accurate style. Quote

LEGO Maniac JEM Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Another idea: A parade with 4 or five different themed floats and a marching band with special new one-piece Lego instruments. Also includes a crowd of about 20 or 30 civilians. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted November 17, 2007 Author Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) Hellingly, your idea for a Christmas Village is great! I would really like to have a Super Set like this! With some lights - like darthperson8 wrote - that would be excellent and go very well with the Christmas Train. I really don't understand why TLC doesn't release more Christmas/Winter sets although they themselves reported that the Christmas Train did sell very well last year. I mean: Having only the Christmas Train as single Christmas/Winter set is very unsatisfactory, I'd say. A whole little winter city would be welcome to extend the Christmas/Winter subtheme! By the way: I and others wrote down some ideas for possible Christmas sets on http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=10974. Edited November 17, 2007 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 I'd like to have a "Super Set" similar to this one http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/6500-1?showpic=6344 but with bigger buildings. Some sort of restaurant/pizzeria, a snack bar and a little supermarket/shop - that would be very nice, don't you think? Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted January 25, 2008 Author Posted January 25, 2008 (edited) I have a new idea: What about a Forestmen "Super Set"?! Forestmens' Secret Headquarters 1. Rope Bridge a baseplate with a little river, a big tree on its left and a big tree on its right side, connected with a rope bridge (surely very similar to http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/6071-1?showpic=5343) including some vegetables and a barrel minifigs: a coachman, a brown forestman and a green forestman 2. Secret Headquarters a more wide than high tree with a little cottage built out of wood and/or stones on its bottom the cottage includes a table with two benchs, a cooking site and a chimney including a brown horse, two barrels, two chickens, a big pot and a pan minifigs: Robin Hood and his wife 3. View Tree a very big tree with a little platform near under its top and a little lockabke cave on the bottom of that tree including a treasure box, some gold pieces and a ropeway like in the set http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/3053-1?showpic=1898 to connect the secret headquarters with the view tree minifigs: a brown forestman and a green forestman 4. Archery Range a lttle tree with a target minifig: Robin Hood's son 5. Coach And Little Catapult a coach for the coachman - with one or two black horse(s) - to transport his vegetables and his barrels a little catapult with some stones Comments, questions and new ideas for "Super Sets" are welcome! Ricecracker Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 i've been contemplating making one of these for my own city: Public Works Department includes a. (bases) (3) one t-road plate, one straight plate, and one 16x16 dark bley plate b. (vehicles) (6) one excavator, two small vans, two small dump trucks, 1 garbage truck c. (building) (1.5) one smallish (one story, 20x16) dark red office with computers and washroom. also a parking garage type kiosk built into the gate d. (minifigs) (6) three workers, one secretary, one boss, one garbage man e. (extras) some small hand held equipment, garbage, and small area to store gravel/1x1 round plates not really sure how feasible this is considering it would be fairly pricey (my guess $170-$200) Run Down Buildings or if you have a better name tell me and i will change it *sweet* includes a. (bases) (2) for the garage; something like this and a 32x32 baseplate for the other b. (vehicles) (3) flat bed tow truck, small car for service, delivery truck, maybe a forklift? c. (buildings) (2) two garage bays and a office/shop for the garage, old, 2 story warehouse (with delivery center at the side/back and no middle floor/ high roof) d. (minifigs) (7) two service workers, one tow truck driver, one civilian, one shop owner/cashier for garage, two warehouse men e. (extras) jack and tools for garage, lots of crates/barrels for warehouse probably around $100-$130 just my ideas, hope you like them!! Quote
