The Hoth Rebel Base is back at Shop@home (For The Netherlands), but sold out. Also it states a limit of two sets a customer.

So maybe it is to come back.

Same for Australians. Hardly fair to be "Sold out" without warning. :-|

i emailed lego and got this :

Dear Mr Mickleborough,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

I am afraid the production for this set is now closed and we are out of

stock. You might be able to get hold of one in a shop if they have any

left. However we don't have a list of all our retailers and do not

have access to their stock levels. Therefore we won't be able to provide

you with an address.

Best regards,

Alexandre Tournut

Sold out in S@H Luxembourg and S@H Germany too! :-( At least I bought 1. D'ooh I want more Snowies (my favorite Troopers)! Prices on ebay.de are currently surging to around 100

I'm still on the fence with this one....do I want to buy this, or buy the Dwarf Mining set instead? I mean, I can build a better base than this in my sleep...it'd be nice to have the official version and all, but I'd be MODding it immediately anyway.

Ugh! Why do I love ESB so much?

Hmm, because it is the best of them? My fav too! :-)

I highly recommend you getting this set, because of the lovely minifigs and yes, it's a good start to do a nice hoth moc (as we've already seen). And you can never have enough snowspeeders.

I'm sure that the dwarf mine will be around a while (it even hasn't been released in Europe so far).

For Canada and the US, shop@home says now: Backorders accepted, will ship by 22 november 2007. Let's hope that they also make more for europe. I don't think they will make a loss on this set :-)

Talked to a LEGO-rep from S@H yesterday here in the US, and he said that there won't be any more production of the 7666.

The reason was that the deal with George Lucas only were for a certain number of sets. The rep didn't know how many though.

This could be true because of the "Backorders accepted, will ship by 22 november 2007" that could be seen on S@H US/Canada before, when the qoute was filled that was that.

So go and clean out your toyshops asap >:-) !!

Wow! If that is true Copmike the price of this set will skyrocket on ebay and Bricklink like the 7283 USB did. I am glad a managed to get the 4 sets i wanted before they sold out. I guess this is one set that will never make it to sale price :'-(

They acually did say "limited edition" on the box. But this was a month!! This set was only available for a month!! That is what really sucks about the limitedness. I hope TLC puts how long the set is limted for on the box. Cmon LEGO.

Rant ON!! X-D

I wonder if it was the same rep I spoke to about another SW issue once, sure sounds like it. In my case, it was a simple request that they turned down citing that Lucasfilm Ltd wouldn't allow it. That didn't make sense to me, so I contacted them and was told, very clearly, that no such agreement had been made and that they weren't requiring anything of the sort. Seemed that the rep was using the line as an easy way to get out of simply saying no. >:-(

That said, I can't imagine George turning down $$$ for anything possible, can you? ;-)

Either way, I hope they at least honour their backorders, as there are still some out there, including one for me that was confirmed with a backorder date in december. We shall see, and I'll report back if they don't live up to it. Oh, will I. *skull*

It could be that Lucas Arts wants to keep people focused on the newer stuff. Remember that they are building up to a new game and TV show...

Anything is possible, I guess, though the game won't need any real buildup. For the show, if they're that worried about it, they'll make some kind of preview set, the same way they've done preview figures for the prequels through Hasbro. Up to this point, they've left LEGO out of that action, but we can always hope.

Either way, it's hard to say what's really going on here, but hopefully the set won't just disappear completely with others having sat so much longer (6212 is still all over the place). Unless that's the excuse. It didn't sell, so we'll short ship Hoth and make sure that doesn't happen with it (though I have yet to see 6212's at deep discount and they will eventually sell out).

I don't know. I'd just better get mine. :'-(

hmm, i still see plenty of hoth base in my area. but nevertheless lest i live to mope about it in the "biggest lego regret" thread, i went ahead and bought 6 today after shopping for black friday doorbusters. :-D

lego store in bridgewater was all out. had to get them at the ridiculous price of $60 ea from TRU. i did get the motorized AT-AT though from lego store. the staff at the store said there may be more hoth coming on monday. said to call first. so, i'm not sure if that's really true they are going out of stock.

wasn't too lucky, got only 10% coupon. i got the castle chess for $40 (10% d/c and a $5 coupon) and the AT-AT for $112 (10% d/c and $5 coupon) and the naboo and darth maul magnet set.
