Hello brickfriends!

As part of the 30th Star Wars anniversary, Lego brought us the 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon. As we all know, a limited edition with certificate and all... This got me thinking. What will Lego bring us next year with the 40th Star Wars Anniversary? A second Millennium Falcon would be quite popular, but I don't see that happening. We haven't had UCS AT-AT yet and personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Lego will bring us a king size version of the ultimate Hoth warmachine! What do you'll think?

A new Falcon or AT-AT would be great. I remember a while back one of the designers was talking about wanting to be able to do a new UCS ISD, I don't remember where I saw this but that would be nice as well.

Yeah, I think a new UCS Star Destroyer is a fairly realistic possibility (although I kind of don't want it to happen because I'm working on my own). Next to the X-Wing and the Falcon, it's one of the most iconic ships of the series. Also, the design of the old one seems to cry out for an update. New wedge plates are available that would close up some of the gaps. And the magnet system that everyone seems to complain about could easily be replaced with new ball and socket joints. So I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see the ISD receive the UCS treatment some time over the next couple years.

Here's hoping Disney hypes up the 40th anniversary as much as the 30th anniversary was hyped. Granted the market and hobby were in a different place then, but there seemed to be a lot of commemorative items and collectibles out there at the time.

Rather than a new set, I'd like to see some kind of commemorative item. I know a minifigures set is out of the question, but something with maybe one minifigures from each movie or something that has alittle bit of every Star Wars in it. Could be a chance for a brick built lightsaber hilt or something like that.

I highly doubt that we will ever get an UCS AT-AT, the Falcon is much more possible, but I dont know.

Maybe we get an UCS First Order Star Destroyer instead of the Imperial Version, would make more sense since it would be the first version and would fit inbetween Episode 7 and 8.

40 years of star wars, the question is do they do a set based on old films like they like doing, or do they do a set based on new films. honestly my money is on a New First Order Star Destroyer, or a much requested Cloud City (not a play city as much as a display city)

I think from a business point of view they would do another UCS Falcon, a lot of people missed it the first time around and given how much they go for second hand, producing a better set for 300-350 would surely fly off the shelves as everyone wouldnt want to miss it again!

My heart would love a massive AT-AT though, even if i am designing my own

I remember the 30th Anniversary of Empire, Lego released a few sets with that special logo in the corner. So I think they may release a few ANH sets in a similar fashion.

If we're talking UCS, I'm guessing the Tanitive IV or the Star Destroyer. These were after all, the first ever ships we saw in Star Wars and I don't think many people can forget the iconic opening scene.

Given the popularity of Hoth, and the way Lego mass produces Hoth sets, I surprises me that they haven't done an AT-AT yet. I would imagine it has to do with stability issues in their test requirements.

Don't narrow your field of hype too much, I'm sure Lego will do plenty of other cool sets beyond the UCS spectrum for the 40th Anniversary. If we just got a UCS Lars Farm I could die happy.

Along with what others have been saying with the UCS sets geared more toward the 40th anniversary of Episode IV, I agree. However, I would love to see a UCS version of Kylo Ren's shuttle. I think the version they released in September is quite lacking. The wings don't tilt, there are no bottom "winglets", there is no red view port like in TFA and biggest of all, it's the wrong color. It needs to be almost entirely black to match what we see in the movie. I don't know if Lego was working with some early production sketches or what, but a revamp on Kylo Ren's shuttle would be very much appreciated.

Absolutely agreed. Altough I really doubt that we get an updated version any time soon. I dont really know why, but I just dont feel that they will do it. Also an UCS version seems even more unlikely than an updated System Scale Version because that one already has huge wings. If you want to make them able to get in V-shape for an UCS model where the wings are even bigger and heavier, you would need some serious build (if its even possible).

I'm hoping they make a UCS episode 7 Star Destroyer The Finalizer. It would make sense, as the old UCS one is in need of an overhaul, and it looks really cool...

I'm really hoping for a UCS Death Star this year but if not, I can wait 12 more months. Unfortunately I got into the party a little late and also missed out on the UCS MF by about 8 years. I'd really like an updated version of the TFA MF in 2017 if the DS comes out this year...

Being the 40th anniversary of ANH my money would be on at least one UCS set from the original. Personally I'm hoping for a new UCS Millennium Falcon. With nostalgia at an all time high and its appearance in the TFA I think the problem would be production keeping up with demand. An round/square interchangeable communications array would be nice and include appropriate minifigs from ANH and TFA...one can dream anyway : )

I hope for a HUGE OT set, of something we havent seen before in the UCS. And for second set of the year I would love a mid-size UCS of any chip from Ep 1-3. If we are lucky we might get three, and then there is space for Ep 7 set ;D Although I think OT + Ep 7 is the most likely outcome...

A new falcon would be very unlikely if you want my opinion, even for the 40th anniversary( one was just released in 2015 ), Cloud City would be surprinsingly likely and would fit with the more recent Slave 1. An UCS set for TFA would probably end up being the Finalizer but not the Starkiller Base ( already a planned OT Death Star rumored ).

Maybe a UCS Mos Eisley?

I would personally love an UCS AT-AT or an UCS Star Destroyer, probably more so the latter. I could also see the Star Destroyer maybe happening more, even though we've gotten two, because of its appearance in the opening scene of Star Wars. Plus with its being revamped in the new sequel trilogy, I could definitely see it happening.

Seeing as how 2017 is the anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope.

And the ships featured in that movie are mainly the X-Wings, Y-Wings, Star Destroyers, Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighters, Vader's TIE, and the Blockade Runner. A-Wings, B-Wings, TIE Interceptors, TIE Bombers, Snowspeeders, AT-AT's and AT-ST's and Imperial Shuttles didn't show up till ESB or ROTJ.

I would like to see a model of something from Star Wars: A New Hope's anniversary. The one that started it all!

With that said, I would say a new Y-Wing or a new Blockade Runner.
