r5-j2 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Captain Britain, you are not a sucker at all. It`s a free country, I agree with Cobb, but in the end it`s up up you. What has disapointed me ,is the rude ,patronising attitude of Brickhithouse and I would like to formally complain to any Moderator reading this. We are all meant to be adults (AFOLs!)and civility costs nothing. Edited March 4, 2016 by r5-j2 Quote
billyneon Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Hi - can anyone who owns this set tell me the dimensions of the box? W, H & D? I am travelling to the US during double VIP and near a LEGO store so tempted to pick this up and take advantage of the slight cost/exchange rate saving, and some extra points. But I don't know if it will fit in my suitcase... Quote
Captain Britain Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Finally saw this set in the flesh at the weekend - I've got to say it definitely does looks a lot more impressive in person than the pictures! Quote

CM4Sci Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Was pretty surprised by the size when I saw it at my local LEGO Store. Quote
Captain Britain Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Think I might be picking it up this weekend! Fingers crossed. Quote

Captain Britain Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Keep us in the loop, once you get stuck into it!! Will do! When double points came up I knew it was time to get it.. been selling off bits on eBay to get the money together a bit quicker and as of this morning I've passed the amount needed and should have enough to pick up the Thanos set too! Happy days. Off to the shop tomorrow to pick it up. Quote
r5-j2 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Good on you Captain, I`ve just got the Avengers Airport set (my first biggish set), although I have a love/hate thing with this Batcave, I can feel it pulling me in....................ahhhh!! Quote

Next on my list are the DC Mighty Micros and the Cycle Chase to try and get the Mr Freeze minifig.. thank God my other half is easy going with this! Quote

Captain Britain Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Why thank you! Wait.. It didn't somehow work out that it was you who served me? O_o Quote
eldiano Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) I never opened mine since I got it mid Feb for VIP, but decided to return it and get it again just for double vip points! XD Now I feel that I do not want to open it because of the Mr. Freeze figure that comes out next month... I have TWO but just the figures and not the freeze gun, so I am stuck now waiting for the actual polybag that comes out april 1st.... Edited March 20, 2016 by eldiano Quote

Captain Britain Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Keep us in the loop, once you get stuck into it!! As requested! Admittedly I'm not the quickest builder but this set is overwhelming! I poured all the bags out on Saturday evening and was blown away at how many there were. I pulled out the bags with '1' on them and though I'd have a 'quick' go to get it started off and then do a bit on Sunday. Bag 1 came in 2 parts and made up the Batmobile along with Batman and The Joker.. took me an hour to build just the Batmobile!! Probably didn't help that I didn't have my glasses. Batman and The Joker look absolutely fantastic up close as expected. Last night I decided I'd get stuck into bag 2 which came in about 4 parts! All this has build is the outside face of the mansion (without the roof or office!) and the batpoles and felt like it took an absolute age to get through.. I'd say I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of the build so far and can't wait to crack on with another bag tonight. Loving every bit of it so far. Quote
Kizmoz Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Finally got mine delivered yesterday (again!) Originally ordered it two weeks ago but the jerks at Yodel tossed it around so much that the plates inside punctured not only the LEGO box, but also the delivery packaging too! So had to get it replaced (even the box must be in good nick for £200!) Have yet to open it but saw it in a LEGO store couple of days ago, the scale of it surprised me, it actually appears bigger than the Ghostbuster HQ which I wasn't expecting... only thing I'm not keen on is the number of stickers that seems to be required, for the price I'd be expecting a lot more of the pieces to be printed (bits like the landing pad and family portraits) Quote

Yodel are shocking. The new one has come ok I take it? I ordered an xbox a while back (few years now..!) and it was out for delivery on the day we had some snow. Should have arrived by 5pm, nothing. Now I know the snow will 100% have caused issues but I gave up hope and thought I'd get it another day. Gone 8pm we hear a car running outside so I poke my head out the door.. what do I find? My xbox just sat on the door step in the snow! The guy was off.. didn't care for a signature, didn't care for anything! Would have been out there all night and half buried if we didn't hear the van. I've only build the main house / poles and batmobile so far.. I love the set and it really is taking ages but I've found that it the actual mansion part feels a little unstable? I've made sure it's all together properly but the base and top come away from the support legs with ease for me which was frustrating at times. I was also missing a piece to finish off one of the side rock/cave bits which I've contacted Lego about. I've thrown a few spares into it to get it on but it's not as it needs to be. I agree with the stickers too.. I'm dreading the landing pads! Onto the middle section tonight! And oh so many little stickers judging from taking a second look at the sticker sheet last night. Quote
rossrifle5150 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 So I bought it on like March 1st or 2nd (birthday gift), and now that I've had it for a while, I love it. I attached all three modules to a Large grey plate and have been throwing other parts and areas in. I love the atomic pile and library the most. To those who originally complained about the height of the Batpoles, it's actually a pretty decent scale, and might not work if it was shorter. I already had other versions of every character except Alfred, but have managed to use everyone (except Riddler's) bodies for other characters. And the vehicles are gooooorgeous. It was pricey, but I'm happy with it now. Quote
mediumsnowman Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I saw this on display at the Lego store yesterday - it's a LOT bigger than I thought it was. Quote

LegoFjotten Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 (edited) Built the set this weekend, and I like it better than I thought I would. It is a bit bigger and feels more substantial than I expected after seeing it in photos. My favourite parts are the library / house facade, the atomic pile and the vehicles. The cave structures are a bit sparse with too many exposed studs and technic holes for my taste. Love the printed wallpaper pieces in the library! There are a lot of stickers, but that's too be expected I guess. Figs are excellent. Knew I would love the civilian figs & Catwoman, but The Joker is pretty nifty too. Batman & Robin look as expected, while the Penguin & Riddler are a bit plain to me (but I would guess they are true to the source material). Sooo.... would I recommend it to those still on the fence? If you can get it at a discount I'd say it's worth giving it a shot. (For the record, I never watched the TV show, so there is no nostalgia in it for me). Kalefro Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Hello everyone. I recently purchased the 60's Batcave set and I had a problem with some of the stickers in the set. Basically, the red colour was printed out of register which was most noticeable on the 2 logos that go on the sides of the Batcar. They should be the Bat symbol in red with an even border of white around this but due to the red printing out of register, it looks wrong. I just wondered if anybody else had experienced this. I have contacted Lego twice now and they have sent me 2 replacement sticker sets which are also out of register. Thanks. Quote
