Tomsche Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 My first piece of Property for the Brethren of the Brick Seas econimics game, and the second building that will be placed once I start my `plates` for the city of Quinnsville lay out, is an artisan category entry, a small forge. McPherson`s is the go to guy when you want your swords reforged or need more bullets for your musket, as he and his apprentice Billy-Bob are the most well known smiths in the region. Of course, the fact they are apparently the ONLY smiths in the region does help as well... For this build, I decided to make it around the small forge that came in the Kingdom`s Advent Calendar, and build the whole shed around it. While the smith is working his anvil to mend swords, his apprentice is trying the art of melting lead for musket balls. Though apparently he needs some more experience, judging by his panicky looks and worried passers by. And of course, it flies the colours of the MAESTRO trade company, as part of it`s network of enterprises ;-) Quote
TitusV Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Nice build! GO MAESTEO! I like the roof! Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Neat little build ! Hard to hold in 16*16 ! Good job ! Quote
Captain Dee Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I like the use of the faction colors in this swordsmith's shed, and having him cast musket shot as well should be enough to keep him busy. I like the arched front but I think it would look better if the top of the arch was below the roofline. The yellow is a classic color but it would look better with some texture if you could manage. The interior details are nice and the cobblestone is great; perhaps a random plant or two would add a little more life to the scene. Good job fading the color of the smoke. Is the crab hungry for bacon? Quote
Maxim I Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Very nice with using the two muskets as decoration! My favourite part is the musket balls corner! Especially with the face expression of the boy Great way to start Quinnsville Tomsche! Quote
Bregir Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Very nice workshop - I like the overall composition, and it looks very fitting for a small workshop. The red/black and red poles look great, and the roof is nice. I agree that the roof should probably be raised above the arch, but the current layout actually works well. Will be looking forward to seeing more of Quinnsville! Quote
blackdeathgr Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Nice and "cozy" :p i will too say that you must raise the roof a bit over the arch but this is your creation after all and the important thing is that you like it first :-) Quote
