YellowCorvette Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Hello everyone! I didn't really have any important things to do in this week, so I turned out to make a Rebel Gunship/Troop carrier MOC in LDD since the lacking in gunship/troop carrying ships for the Rebellion is kinda bother me. Did the ship's design reminded you for something, huh? Any comments and suggestions are welcomed. I'll post most details of the ship in later posts. Quote
YZF333 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Very cool MOC! Would you share the LDD file? Quote
BrickCommander Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Holy crow! This reminds me of ... umm. Sorry, I'm drawing a blank here. Anyone? ;) Quote
Immo Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) Did the ship's design reminded you for something, huh? Holy crow! This reminds me of ... umm. Sorry, I'm drawing a blank here. Anyone? ;) You probably mean HWK line of Corellian ships. Kyle Katarn's "Mouldy Crow" was HWK-290. Love that design, looks mean and fast. Edited January 15, 2016 by Immo Quote

Anyone? ;) Yeah, this MOC is moderately inspired by the HWK freighters(At least for the front/cockpit section). I also take inspiration from some others Star Wars vehicles like the LAAT Gunship. Junior Shark Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Lookin' great! It looks very Star Wars-y, thanks in part to the in fluence of the Moldy Crow. Can't wait to see some of the details on this bad boy! Quote
LiLmeFromDaFuture Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Yeah, looks like great set I could see Lego producing! Does it have any other play features besides the spring shooters? Quote
RetroInferno Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Kind of a mix between the Moldy Crow and the LAAT, I really like it :) Quote

Since that this a gunship/troop carrying ship, of course it still has other play features beside the spring shooters. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) Here's more LDD pictures for the details of the interior of the ship as promised! RebelGunship Interior by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr The front/cockpit section is able to fit 4-5 minifigures, and 6 if you arrange your minifigures properly. Rebel Gunship Interior by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr The interior of the front/cockpit section is accessible with openable top section via click and normal hinge parts (Note: the top section is not fully opened) Rebel Gunship Interior by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr The back section is able to fit 4 minifigures that are ready to enter the battle. The troop sitting section is also can be pulled out to make loading minifigures in the seats easier. No openable top section is available in this section. Because of limited space, you need to turn the head sideways(or their helmet) if you want to load minifigures with large helmet pieces. (Ignore the asymmetrical rear section walls) Rebel Gunship Interior by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr A boarding ramp is also included at the back/troop loading section to allow accessing the troop seating section and the minifigures easier. (sorry about the empty section of the side of the back section) I'll post the details of the weapons of this ship in later posts. Stay tuned! Edited January 16, 2016 by ArmstrongYong Quote
YellowCorvette Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Here's more details of the weapons equipped with the ship! Rebel Gunship weapons by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr This ship has a pair of heavy duty laser cannon mounted at both side of the wings as the ship's main weapon. A proton torpedo launcher (The spring loaded shooters) and a light duty blaster cannon per wings is also mounted at both side of the wings to do extra damages. Rebel Gunship weapons by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr This ship is also has a anti-starfighter turret mounted at the top of the ship. With a 2-barreled laser cannon and 2 proton torpedo launcher (The spring-loaded shooters) mounted to the turret, it will be a nightmare for almost any starfighters in the galaxy. This turret is also rotatable via using a click 4x4 turntable. Rebel Gunship weapons by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr A rear defense turret is also mounted at the rear of the ship to make some extra damages. Any comments are welcomed as usual. The LXF file will be available later. Quote
jamie75 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I like it! I always liked the Moldy Crow. The only other thing I would suggest to make it more Gunship-ish, is to make the rocket launchers in the middle of the wings. Or separate them and put them close to the wings. Nice job, Jamie Quote
Lord Tyrus Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I like the shaping of this. I also could see LEGO producing something like this at some point. Quote
ChiefPie Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Cool ship though it only reminded me of a LAAT. Quote
