Dr Rod Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Thought you all might like some photos of a collaborative build between myself and another SydLugger that was shown recently at Brickvention in Melbourne Australia. Not many western layouts get made these days. In 2011 we made "El Bricko" as part of a 5 person collab build and won the AFOL's choice award. Those series 14 native American women came out at just the right time! KlodsBrik Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 These are all looking really good. Its not to often i see larger wild west MOC´s. And really not often at all that its also well executed. Great job on all these collaborations indeed. Quote
sander1992 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Great landscaping. It is a nice layout.\ I really like the colors of the landscape. Did you use dark orange and red? Was this for the 20 years anniversary of the old western theme? Quote
peedeejay Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 That's a very fine diorama with lots of nice details. The landscaping is great! Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 That is a great and amazing landscaping ! It's nice to see some wild west builds from time to time. They are becoming rarer by now :( If I understand it well, it will be the 3rd version of your town ? Are you re-started it from the beginning or are you re-building from the older version ? You are making a great job ! Great project ! I can't wait to see more ! Quote
Dr Rod Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Thanks for comments Folks! To answer some questions: - This is the third iteration, each one was completely rebuilt other than the buildings. - Colours in the landscape are: tan, dark tan, flesh, dark orange and dark med flesh. Plus old brown, reddish brown, old dark grey, dark bley, olive green.. - I hadn't realised that this was the 20th Anniversary of LEGO western.. but that certainly gives me an idea now!! Dr Rod Quote
noworktoday Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Wonderful build! I've been considering doing a small western theme and this has given me some needed encouragement :) Quote
Rogue Angel Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 These are beautiful layouts! I especially like all the terrain work on the first and third versions. I've been planning to put together a Western layout one of these years for Brickworld, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Quote
Elostirion Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 An inspiration to all other wild west MOCers - lovely build, thanks for sharing! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 It's beautiful, well done! I love these Wild West layouts, perhaps in the future I might make a small one too. This is certainly inspiring and I hope to see this IRL some time, but perhaps you can share some more pictures in the meantime? Quote
Fletcher Floyd Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 What an amazing wildwest-Landscape. Everything you could you wish for is there. So many spots and details to discover. I really like this one! Quote
Graham Gidman Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Very nice work! Getting the plates for that water and all that medium dark flesh would of cost a pretty penny... Quote
