Robianco Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) I don't know how you keep up! I think I'm going to have to set up a side bit to my spreadsheet with the customs I want to pick up / make. Roll on July! I don't even want to think about how I keep up. Getting caught up is the hardest thing... Picking up the figures as they're released is easy compared to the catch up. Here's the updated Christo Batman group shot. Edited June 17, 2016 by Robianco Quote
Captain Britain Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I know what you mean! When I decided to catch up with the super heroes it took me an absolute age to collect all the previous minifigs from discontinued sets. I had a stroke of luck when I managed to pick up 53 minifigs on eBay for £140! All DC, included a massive amount of the ones I needed and then the ones I didn't need I then resold and made profit haha. It was at Christmas too which was a nice present to myself. Love that zebra batman, is that your most prized minifig? Quote
Robianco Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 It's probably the one that is somehow worth the most. I was shocked when Christo sold his remaining two and the last sold for over £400. I'd never pay that for a minifigure. I'd really struggle paying that for a set and it would have to be something monumental such as a new UCS Falcon or Cloud City or maybe a current Batcave. It's not my favourite though... there are quite a few of the Bats figures that I like. Even though I'm a DC fan my first comic was a Captain America annual so I've always picked up Cap customs etc and I think my First Avenger Christo Cap is one of my favourite figures. I haven't photographed my Cap line up for a while so I may have to update that. Quote
Captain Britain Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 That's insane! So have you just got the one Zebra Bats now? No I can understand that. I've always wanted to pick up a genuine SDCC fig but I really struggle to justify it for one fig. I mean I could easily have a weekend break away for that sort of money! Would love to see the Cap line up. I love all the DC stuff but Marvel is my first pick over the two. I need to try and get a nice snap of my lot all together in a better pic. Will try post some more pics later on! Quote
Doctor What Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Little off topic, but where have you guys been getting your new blue Nightwings? Is the DVD that he comes with out yet? Quote

Will try post some more pics later on! I've only ever had one Zebra Bats. Christo printed 50 of them in a presentation box for a Comic Con in Asia. He sold some others privately which is where I got mine and the last two were listed on eBay. I think the price he sold his last two for would have covered his print costs. Little off topic, but where have you guys been getting your new blue Nightwings? Is the DVD that he comes with out yet? There are various sellers in the US on eBay that have them. I think they were printed in the Mexican factory and that seems to be where they've leaked from. Quote
Captain Britain Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Yeah mine came from California. Ordered it off eBay for about £9. I just didn't want to wait for the DVD to come out and the deal was good. I think the DVD is out soon though? Quote

I had a huge bag is keep them all in when I had nowhere to display them. In the end they ended up on top of my screens at work until it became a fun game for people to try and knock them off with a ball :(. They are now safe haha. Thanks for sharing you two! Impressive bootleg collection on the last pic too.. Didn't realise there were so many! Quote

Sebiron Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Thanks for sharing you two! Impressive bootleg collection on the last pic too.. Didn't realise there were so many! Thanks ^^ No no these are not bootleg, I have over 300 customs figs (Marvel) ^^, (To be honest I hate bootleg with their low quality ink and plastic.) Quote
Borex Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Thanks ^^ No no these are not bootleg, I have over 300 customs figs (Marvel) ^^, (To be honest I hate bootleg with their low quality ink and plastic.) What are you using then? Paper decals? Printed paper? You are making them yourself, right? Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 She arrived! Cheers for the recommendation Robianco! *picture snip* So jealous! I absolutely love that figure, but I have a hard time spending $40 on one minifig :/ I talk myself in and out of it almost daily haha Quote

I absolutely love that figure, but I have a hard time spending $40 on one minifig :/ I talk myself in and out of it almost daily haha Haha I'd say it would be $40 well spent! I know it's expensive for a minifig but I'm over the moon with it. Printing is brilliant. Although it feels like a slippery slope now because I want more Phoenix Customs! Quote

Apologies! I thought they were bootlegs. In which case, I double what Borex said There are a few bootlegs in that photo and not just the bigfigs. If a bootleg company has produced a figure you feel is good enough to display alongside other custom figures then there's no need to hide it. Custom moulded pieces are made by many companies in the US and other parts of the world which obviously aren't genuine Lego plastic so having the odd torso or head in there isn't such a big deal. Not all bootleg plastics are crap and brittle and not all Lego plastics are perfect and hard wearing. Quote

I've got a bootleg Phoenix and she looks brilliant, same with the Iron Man Mk1 I picked up. Just take a look at the thread about all the Lego figures cracking down the sides somewhere else on this forum. Luckily none of mine have but a couple seem to be suffering (even Capt. Nemo!). Quote
brickmasterben11 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 95percent, is that a custom Red Son Superman? A bit late, but it looks amazing! I've never seen one before. Quote
Captain Britain Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Awesome Bat's collection! Which one is your favourite? I think I'd go '66 Batman. Updates on one of my frames below... added in some older Marvel / DC figs along with some customs and a couple of bootlegs. I think I'll change this frame around a bit with some of my added extras but they are protected for now! Frame Updates! by CaptainBritainDJW, on Flickr Quote
