Finding those older sets has really helped. I've been browsing sets from a similar era (early 80s) and its turned up some pieces I now know to be rare and that i hadn't been able to find on Bricklink before. I reckon I've identified around half a dozen old, small sets! :)

I won't be able to build them straight away. Too much work on. But I will.

Here are some of those old sets I managed to identify from browsing Brickset:

6601 - Ice Cream Cart

The top panels are quite rare. I like how they fold out and I like the ice lolly 2x1 brick at the front No ice creams came with the set though and I don't have the figure (a chef)

6654 - Motorcycle Transport

No figure

6654_-_motorcycle_transport.jpg

6656 - Tow truck

The hook assembly isn't that common. Identified from that

Finally for today's efforts:

6632 - Tactical Patrol Truck

Missing the red signal accessory

Some BnP pieces should be arriving over the next week which should allow me to finish a few sets. It's the bigger ones I'm missing parts for mainly - but not many so I should be able to get them mostly built soon. I'm conscious I've only managed to finish one large set so far

Sorry about Fright Knights ;)

Yes, lots more than I expected too. More to come as well.

I also have this. It isn't from the box. A friend went to Denmark (not Billund!) and a toy shop has exclusive rights from Lego to sell this little Danish soldier minifgure. Isn't he sweet? He is so happy! :)

Cool

just going through the same process myself. I found a 15kg box of vintage lego in a charity shop last week for only €40 and instantly spotted a mint LL918 brick on top off the pile... I swear a little bit of wee came came out.. Of course i bought the box without a second thaught. Just as i was paying, the lady told me they had 5 more boxes like that one in the past week but that was the last one :cry_sad:

Anyway, so far i have built 9 of the smaller sets from the late 60's and early 70's and found some bricks from the 50's

sadly i'm missing most of the grey wedge plate wings for LL918 but found 2 almost mint front wedges with the space logos on them and a very nice red spaceman just missing his air tanks.

most recent set identified from the box was the jedi starfighter from 2003 i found Obi wan missing an arm and some parts of his ship.

More than 50 years of history in one box and most of the bricks are in amazing condition if you consider they must have seen 3 generations of kids playing with them

Got some more made up this morning:

1806 - Underwater Scooter.

Can't find the correct head and one of the clips is broken

Not a lot to say about this set is there?

6835 - Saucer Scout

6835_-_saucer_scout.jpg

6774 - Alpha Team ATV

The best one of the morning. Quite cool ATV and underwater vehicle. They have some nice features and details

6774_-_alpha_team_atv.jpg

Sounds like a great charity shop find there. Especially the classic space. Shame it was in several boxes as I bet one lot got split randomly so no one has all the parts to any sets!

I just can't believe how much is coming out of this lot - and there is more to come. Both that I know about and sets that I've yet to figure out

I'm missing some pieces from the sets I'll be posting over the next few days but I want to get them built so I can tidy things up ahead of my upcoming holiday. Still, it shows what's left in the box:

4020 - Firefighting ship

Biggest missing pieces are the windows and there is quite a bit of discolouration on the white pieces:

6671 - Utility Repair Lift

Only missing one of the long red rails. I like the scissor action that the 2 sets of hinges make

I like the fireboat a lot.

I much prefer the older ship hulls to the new ones

I pulled the newer coast gaurd ship (orange and grey hull) out of a previous lot and now have the large bulky hull getting in the way all the time

did that style fireboat come with a weighted keel piece or the heavy 2x4x4 black bricks?

I like it too. I'm going to build an MOC ship off it. It came with 2 weighted pieces.

I have a blue ship too - larger. It should have lots of weighted pieces but I only have 1 more in my big box :(

Just reading through your post again and spotted this pic

I just realised I have all the parts for the set on left

It was the wheels and the trans orange parts that gave it away :classic:

Btw i have a couple of those heavy blocks somewhere from a previous lot, yours if you want them, and if i can find them again

6274 - Caribbean Clipper

Only really the sails and the admiral's hat missing. But most of it's there. My plan is to use the hull to create a MOC ship. Pirates were my favourite as a kid

I'm building some bigger sets now - even if I am missing some pieces

This is my favorite set all the time :)

6332 - Command Post Central (or in other words, a police station!)

Lots to do and play with in this set though it took about 5 mins to build due to all the big pieces. I'm not sure it felt much like a Lego set

I have the same thing, only missing a minifigure ( Admiral ), found it in huge haul of Lego, about a microwave sized box, from charity shop for a tenner, and has 74 sets so far.

Finally back from my trip and (for my own sanity) I need to finish sorting this box. I have about half the bricks for a decent number of sets and probably don't have all the bricks for most of them but I'll see what I can do.

Here is an awesome set I have got out. Some bricks missing but not lots

6276 - Eldorado Fortress
