grum64 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 (edited) You're safe to buy 2H sets. The Porsche box says 16+. It could be some liability concerns with their legal team. No worries there. Being a good few years past 20 I felt I was OK to preorder all the 2H sets Might be a while before they get built though Edited May 15, 2016 by grum64 Quote
Kman860 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 It's the same for all the 2H sets along with warnings that these sets are not suitable for children under 20-30yrs old. Amazon states that the Porsche can't be bought by anyone under 16. Why? I do know quite a few people who are under 30 who could be considered children. I also know quite a few people at work under ~55-60 who could be considered children  I think another reason for the Porsche situation is the price of it. Quote

legobeast73 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 im sure this will be seen as pointless but does it mean the set will be out before august if amazon uk has a listing for 42055 and when will amazon stateside post it? Quote
Kman860 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 No, amazon will have it August 1st, and most likely ship it August 1st. Quote
legobeast73 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 ok i was asking cause it is listed on amazon uk Quote
Kalhiki Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 (edited) Amazon states that the Porsche can't be bought by anyone under 16. Why? Because you have to be 16 to drive, of course! So... August 1st is the release date for the BWE right? Can't come soon enough... Edited May 16, 2016 by Kalhiki Quote
N-4K0 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 In many countries you must be 18 to drive, Denmark included. And since Lego is Danish, I imagine they would go with 18+ if the age thing had any relation As for the topic, I am also impatiently waiting for the BWE to be released Quote

N-4K0 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 (edited) I'm not quite sure what you mean with "graduated" licensing. In Norway you can legally start practice driving at 16 with someone at least 25 who's had a license for at least 5 years continuously, then when you turn 18 you can legally get your own license. Sweden and Denmark are quite similar to us in many ways, I believe they have it the same way or similar, but I can only speak for our system. Edited May 18, 2016 by Error404 Quote

The fastest way to explain it is you write a test at 16, then practice with someone who has had a license for 4 years who is at least 21 (I think), (G1 License), then if you take a driving course 8 months later (12 months without a course), you go for a road test, get your G2 License (then you can drive by yourself), then 12 months after that, you go for one more road test and get a full G license. So what age can you start practing in Norway? 16? Quote
jono rocky Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I've been hovering around this thread and not being paying to much attention to it then I saw the B model and instantly needed to have it. Brings back memories working at the sand quarry. Now I'm paying attention but dang that's a lot of pages to read....Oh and my little 2cents worth here in Australia you start driving at 16 as well. Actually, Canada (and most other countries I think) adopted a form of graduated licensing from New Zealand I see. N-4K0 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Yes, sorry for the off-topic. I'm still really excited for this set, I wish August would come sooner! Quote
Victor Imaginator Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I don't like topics with 666 posts exactly, so i changing it) Really i don't like this set so much to buy it. Getting second XL motor in my collection is good, but not enough. And then idea come to my mind - what if i wrap this two large circles into large threads? There's lot of space to fit motors with reductors just inside a wheel, and may become some sool offroad monster. So... i want 3 copies of this set now - i will have 4 XL, enough yellow quarter circle parts for making 4 wheels, enough thread links for wrapping, and tons of pins, liftarms and axles for breaking/grinding while testing builds) Quote

I would say, there are no small chains in the 42055 Quote
