DrJB Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 One comment though. A while back I started a thread asking why the many MOCs out there were primarily black/red, and the recurrent answer was simply that many more parts were available in black/red than any other color. Apparently, and per the photos we have so far, it seems TLG Technic designers too have more balck than anything else. That, and also possibly that black is well suited for hiding details, especially on prototype vehicles.
lepeltje Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I just saw a site of a Lego shop in my town, the Porsche is expected the end of july for 289,50€ http://www.kelcha.nl/lego/technic/porsche-911-gt3-rs
AkiyamaWataru Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 An interresting question on this topic is the vat thats included. For germany it's 19%. How is the vat in the netherlands?
Jeroen Ottens Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 And here is a site in the Netherlands that claims it is an orange monster: https://misterbricks.nl/lego-technic-42056-porsche-911-gt3-rs.html It also mentions the flappy pedals gearbox, the boxer motor and the box contains a book with interviews of the designers of both Lego and Porsche...

lepeltje Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 An interresting question on this topic is the vat thats included. For germany it's 19%. How is the vat in the netherlands? We have 21% fat (btw in Dutch)
M337 Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Well then that leaves with probably only one question - what type of stickers will it have, if any?
nerdsforprez Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 So it is orange! Maybe orange really IS the new black....
syclone Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) I wait that it is really orange it would increase the number of mocs in that color :) Now slowly becoming a must-have... Edited April 16, 2016 by LXF
Interceptor Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Great news! I like it has no PF but probably authentic functions. Oragne is ok. Must have for me.
Meatman Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) If no power functions, I wonder how it changes gears? Those paddles don't look like they do anything other than move. Edited April 16, 2016 by Meatman
Ngoc Nguyen Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Could it be that, in order to drive down the cost for this model, TLG had to increase the number of parts in orange, which results in Volvo with orange handles and Gali with orange accent instead of yellow.
Emmi Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) So it is orange! Yes, most likely lava orange. Also I believe the official reveal is coming very soon now. I'm excited, so excited Also happy that there doesn't seem to be any PF component, at least not from the box ... it's just useless crap noone uses anyways after 1-2 times. I prefer manual operated stuff, as it seems to be the case with this set Edited April 16, 2016 by Emmi
Emmi Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 If no power functions, I wonder how it changes gears? Those paddles don't look like they do anything other than move. Maybe it changes automatically, depending on how fast you "drive" around with it?
Kman860 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Maybe it changes automatically, depending on how fast you "drive" around with it? Is there actually any way it could do that? That would be cool.
AkiyamaWataru Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 You could actuate it with strings as an example
roppie11 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 well, i don't expect to see it in the porsche, but it is possible as this guy shows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1G2SylEllg
Emmi Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 well, i don't expect to see it in the porsche, but it is possible as this guy shows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1G2SylEllg wow, that would be so cool, but yeah, we probably won't see a mechanism like this in the Porsche.
RichiPuppy Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 If no power functions, I wonder how it changes gears? Those paddles don't look like they do anything other than move. Probably pretty similar to what members on here dissected from images of this set on pages 19 and 20.
Ondra Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 In my favourite diecast shop is autoart 1:12 Porsche GT3 with almost same price as this set. I think TLC is very ambitious with price 300 euro..
M337 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 With what I see, it might be a bit of a challenge to incorporate those orange fender panels since there might not be enough beams in the same colour for that car. But the good thing here is that TLG already bought some other parts in orange for the previous sets . hence bricklinking parts in orange wont be that costly p.s. all this is assuming that TLG uses the same shade of orange in the Porsche.
