Any sign of 9L or 11L orange lift arms?

I see a 11L used in front above the grill. And maybe on top of the wheelarches?

Great, absolutey great ... although I'm not happy it comes with stickers instead of printed pieces.

However my question is ... how am I supposed to use the paddle shifters when I finished building this awesome car? I mean in the designer video it seems like you need a hell lot of strength to get them work, I imagine this could be a serious issue. Why didn't they make exclusive paddle shifter moulds for this???

Other than that absolutely great set and best of all ... it's not the only one to come - Welcome Ultimate Technic series

Yes, when shifting, they do seem like they were really bending those blue axle pins when he was pulling them back. Too bad there was no way to hide those rubber bands.

1/3 of the price looks to be for book/instructions and box. I have hoped more older part recolours. Tons of blue pins again.

I read a lot of complaining about the 4 speed gear box but also note that the car has

4+N+R

Good point, didn't think of that.

My only concern is price. I like the "box experence" and the Porsche book but don't think it is worth the 300€ price tag.

Edit: Wonder if this is their first step into a new "milk the AFOL" franchise.

I assume that the reverse will be a simple direction changer and the gears will still be able to change while in reverse.

Wow, i've just noticed in the video that they combined the regular instructions with some descriptions regarding the same functions in the real car. Awesome.

That new connector consoles be a bit. So making a reliable sequential gearbox is really not possible with the white 3L connectors and the new driving ring.

Exactly my thought.

Same thing here. I don't want the box and presentation to make up most of the price of the model, that's not what most Technic fans care about. Shame about no suspension geometry, and the blue pins still being in use. I really hope the new front wheel carrier is retooled to have less slop, same with the rears, and that it shows up in other sets. Also, if the new double sided 16Z clutch gears and the 3L axle with stop have completely replaced the old variants, why are they in new, clashing colors? It's obvious that a model like this would not be introduced without a lot of controversy, but I think that at the level they want this thing to be at, they could do without the color barf. Like, the yellow axles. Why? I'd be just fine if they had the standard flagship box, or even one like 41999, and hacked $50 off the price tag. Also, I'm kind of having trouble seeing the 2700 parts, even if it is very filled out. At least with that part count, it isn't that much more than a standard set, at least in terms of price for pieces.

I'm debating if the lack of PF is a good thing or not. I'd welcome new PF parts, but on the other hand, this set is really nice, even for the lack of PF. With the rumored PF 2.0, maybe Lego thought about including it, but ultimately did not, because it was not far enough along in the development cycle, or they thought it would be a bad fit for the set.

Now I know why the set was so heavy (close to 4 kg) ... it's the %$#@&^ book!

Would the book PDF be available for download from the Lego site? I'd prefer to have a 'preview' before committing.

Don't take me wrong I love to see such an awesome year, BWE, Volvo, Claas and Porsche are all amazing sets. but the Porsche price even with the nice box iis pretty offensive.

The Arocs is the same part count, has new amazing parts too, PF, pneumatics and is licensed.. Some cardboard isn't worth 100€!

Edit: Make it 250€ and I'll take 2 or even 3. but 300€? It is a hard sell.

I also noticed the book has many pages with darker prints and light background.

What I meant to say is that the pages are not in the standard blue like all the other sets but of a different shade and also with a lot of extra info.

Without all the extra stuff the size of the booklet must be close to that of the arocs

I am interested to understand the functionality of the drive selector. It seems to be a bit of a strange idea to combine that with a sequential paddlshift. For example. It seems that you would be able to shift straight from 3rd gear forward to 3rd gear reverse or whichever gear is selected at the time unless there is some clever mechanism which blocks any change unless you are in first gear. Other than that the shaping is great. I like the colour and the packaging. The brakes could be better and also if being picky I don't like the design at the base corners of the windscreen

Don't have to wonder anymore, it's already in the brickset article

From our very first meeting it was clear that Porsche shared the same passion for the vision of this concept and together we decided upon using the current 911 GT3 RS as the first vehicle in this LEGO Technic series.

I agree about the price and I think I have to let it go since I'm not sure I can afford it for the low number of new parts. The new wheel is nice and seems to have proper offset, but too unique in shape.

The chassis looks extremely exciting though, I'm all for color vomit that most of you hate so much. That chassis is a mess in the best sense.

Edit: okay, stupid. Many parts in orange.

I would like to have seen a new cylinder block (3 studs) to fit the scale and we need something new in this area. Would also like to have seen power functions to play with the transmission even if car needs to be on stands. No HOG steering!? Stickers!?

Could be similar situation with that one Architecture set had a book (being a reason for an overpriced set. And yes, it was available for download (unintentional) for limited time.

At $300 I am not totally sure yet. I am leaning towards buying, but I don't think it would be my usual Technic set... Assemble and learn, display for awhile, disassemble and put parts into inventory. It may have to remain assembled a little longer.

Things I like...

Interesting building techniques (gearbox etc.)

Lots of parts, including some new and exclusive.

The book, it seems that there could be a lot of learning in there.

With the Porsche, the BWE and the CLAAS tractor and others, I could wind up spending quite a bit on LEGO this year, almost enough to replace my aging computer. Oh, well it's only money, what else am I going to do with it?

It's a good thing this comes out June 1st and the rest come out August. Not sure what my wife would say about the expense of the Porsche, BWE and CLAAS all at once.

If this comes out June 1st, can we expect reviews from Jim and Sariel sometime soon? Hope so!
