As someone said in the comments, he turned another model uggly as usual.

Total agree with you.

That is true, he just made it ugly.

he's clearly having fun with adding RC function to EVERY model he gets, from Angry Birds set to Ghostbusters sets, why so much negativity towards him?

That's quite simple: A lot of people find it very satisfying to add RC in a way you keep wich keeps the shape and form.

In a petrolheads term: it's the difference between a ricer and a tuner ;)

ppung just adds bits of pf and disrupts the entire with it. with the DBG and LBG parts from PF he destroys the color scheme of the set.

edit: Typo

Hi,

Welcome to EB! And agree with you. He is clearly not trying to create a great looking model, just PF versions. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hi,

Welcome to EB!

Thanks! I was lurking for some time already, just recently bought my first real set (42008 - I have lots of small technics sets like 42031 etc ) and I'm definitely buying the Volvo now!

42008 is a compact and well designed set.....its got some really nice functions and is fun to build, enjoy!

42008 [...] well designed

This and this in the same sentence. It can't be true.

C'mon, this set is an unstructured mess...

I've justed ordered 2 of these on 3 for 2 at Argos, along with another set, nice saving. Pick them up Wednesday.

Argos stores near me are now showing out of stock, then in stock, then out of stock. I will wait until Monday and call in the lego store.

Finished building mine last night, I love it. I just wish they would print the stickers onto the bricks.

but it is a great model, I love the way they built in the pump for motorisation and the lifting cabin is so nicely intergrated. Even the brick under the cabin to hold the 2 x 2 brick when you upgrade the set to include LED's. great set.

Well, that way you couldn't reuse the parts for MOCs.

You can easily buy those parts without stickers on Bricklink for little money (panels, tiles, etc). Not to start the stickers vs printed discussion, but it would defnitely be better to have no stickers at all in favor of printed parts.

Totally agree with you my friend ... the, "but that way you can use it for MOCs" is the stuff I hear in sticker vs print discussions every single time ... for me that's nothing LEGO should consider ... if you want to use a certain part/brick for MOC reasons, buy it on Bricklink!

I'm on 'the sticker on elements' side, sometimes a model can look better without stickers than with.

So you leave them off.

Would be a stupid thing having to buy new parts to put on a set you've just bought.

Yes it is stupid to have to buy new pieces for a set you just bought. Especially if for example they printed the 3x11 plate in yellow, which only comes in one set in yellow, 42053 (to bring it back on topic  ), because then you couldn't just buy the part you need from bricklink. And the parts that come with a set are a major factor (if not the biggest) in my decision to buy a set, and a printed piece is most often useless to me. A good quality sticker can be just as good as a printed piece and gives you the option of having the decoration or not. all a sticker does is increase the cost of making the piece as well as remove the option of not having the design on the piece, making the piece less versatile and less useful.

There are several topics in General forum and Minifgure Customization forum on how to remove print. Removing print with Brasso seems to work well for most people. :classic:

Nice pics!! Very clear!

This makes me want a huge, I mean really huge (approx. 3000+ parts) excavator from LEGO as next years flagship model.

A new backhoe would be nice,I think it is too soon for a new excavator like that of the 8043,with or without pneumatics.
