Alasdair Ryan Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 The steering shaft will probably run above the battery box (through the turntable). Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 The steering knob lies behind the undercarriage, so I don't think the steering shaft will go through the turntable. It will probably still stay in the undercarriage. So the mystery is how can a battery box stay in the undercarriage without interfering with the shaft Quote
agrof Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) It is not that complicated, Alasdair meant something like this: If You check the steering knob's position in the first picture, than it is pretty straigtforward. Edited March 6, 2016 by agrof Quote

agrof Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) The actual axle orientation can be 90° rotated, parallel to pin holes. Basicly that's why they had to limit the rotation to 347°, but it is still an acceptable compromise - for me. Edited March 6, 2016 by agrof Quote

Alasdair Ryan Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) That's genius! Thanks....I love it when I get compliments. Edited March 6, 2016 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) Sure, here You are: Thanks for the picture, but I still haven't understand how that setup leads to the limit of 347 degree of rotation? Thanks....I love it when I get compliments. I was complimenting the designer of this set but kudos to you too for enlightening me on that Edited March 6, 2016 by nguyengiangoc Quote
Victor Imaginator Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I think, that 347 degrees it's just because it's not unlimited. Just limited somehow to not twist cable from battery to motor. And steering it's just steering. Genius, but just steering) Quote
agrof Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) I have two theories: 1. The new turntable has 60 teeth. 6x60=360. One full circle has also 360°. Remember this. An axle has cross profile, with 4 ribs. Technic line will have the 40th anniversary in 2017. If You cross an axle through next year: 2017-4=2013. But as we know, 40 (Anniversary) can be divided by 20 (taken from 2013), so we can just ignore it. There is 13 left. And back to the beginning: 360-13=347. 2. The wire of the motor could be damaged by winding up on the crossing axle by too much unidirectional rotation. Same unlucky situation would happen without the axle, but with it is more "cutting". 3. After some pálinka it is marveolusly trivial. Edited March 6, 2016 by agrof Quote
Jonfensu Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 agrof, first theory seems legit Anyway That 347° is not a feature, it's a trap! Quote

Maaboo the Witch Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I'm really liking this set right now. Pneumatics, Volvo license and a great B-model? Count me in. Funnily enough, this is the first licensed model not to feature PF right out of the box. Wonder if this'll set a precedent for sets in the future? Quote
mpj Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 From what I've seen, most cylinders tend to be either yellow/orange or dark gray. Not saying black do not exist, but I have not seen any. Well, here are just some examples... Quote
Kman860 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 The hydraulics are black on the Tractor I drive at work. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Well, here are just some examples... Also great licenses for LEGO to aim for in the future! Quote
Kman860 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Also great licenses for LEGO to aim for in the future! Hey, the way this year is going, it could happen. Maybe not all at once, but 1 or 2 at a time. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Hey, the way this year is going, it could happen. Maybe not all at once, but 1 or 2 at a time. That would be great! Quote
BrickWild Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) I'll be getting this one! And I'll be adding some perhipherals including a trailer! Edited April 7, 2016 by BrickWild Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Now that I think about it, it would've been great if LEGO equipped this puppy with chevron tyres like those on the Claas. Ah well. Quote
