Posted January 26, 20169 yr I posted this project on Lego ideas... any support, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/129156 I'll add more pictures soon. Edited January 29, 20169 yr by dman122866
January 26, 20169 yr This definetly has potential. The design is fantastic and I love how low they are to the ground yet still function despite the low clearance. This is definetly something Lego has tried before according to Bricklink so I think since this seems much more detailed I think it has a great shot of becoming a set. It seems like it would fit in well with the City theme.
January 27, 20169 yr From the Site Guidelines: LEGO Ideas: If you have a great MOC, that is also a LEGO Ideas project, you may present it on EB as you would any MOC, with a single link to the Ideas entry. Make the title about the MOC, not the Ideas business; don't be too shouty, and it is likely to be tolerated. You need to be thinking: 'I want people on EB to see my MOC and comment on it. If they like it, perhaps they'll support it on LEGO Ideas', rather than: 'I want Ideas support! If I post it on EB, perhaps more people will vote!. Please make this topic more about your creation than about your Ideas campaign. Failure to do so will result in the locking of this topic and the removal of your Ideas link. Thank you. For further info about Site Guidelines you may have forgotten please check the link in my signature or the Site Guidelines link in the top right hand corner, under the banner, of every page on this site.
February 1, 20169 yr Cool and great scale, too. Those engines do seem massive for the little gokarts!
February 2, 20169 yr It's a good idea and a great creation. I see these karts very assumible for LEGO to release them.
February 2, 20169 yr great idea! i like the look although i think they are a bit to big for a go-kart especially the engines but still i love the look and creativity
February 2, 20169 yr great idea! i like the look although i think they are a bit to big for a go-kart especially the engines but still i love the look and creativity Big engines and oversized exhausts are the kind of thing that kids love.
February 5, 20169 yr Author Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. I really wanted to get that "bumper" look around the go-kart so that kind of dictated the size. The engines.... these are really fast go-karts :)
July 5, 20168 yr Author So here's the larger MOC in the process of being built around the Go-Karts idea. I'm working on a belt drive that will drag the cars (using magnets) around a track made up of road plates. July 7, 20168 yr indeed, nice use of the arch/fender part, what is on Ideas could work as a set. It may be worth adding real photos of the vehicles there (at least the photo posted here at the top of the page: it looks better than the LDD renderings)
July 7, 20168 yr It looks amazing It's a great idea with the Snot mudguard. It has my support as well!
July 7, 20168 yr The fist pic seen is the one on the description tab; I was just giving a hint to make the project more appealing ;) (or maybe they prevent from updating the description tab contents?) Edited July 7, 20168 yr by antp
July 11, 20168 yr Author Update - Finished the 10 base pieces and did a quick setup to show what the end results might look like. IMG_5753 by Dario, on Flickr IMG_5754 by Dario, on Flickr IMG_5760 by Dario, on Flickr IMG_5759 by Dario, on Flickr IMG_5757 by Dario, on Flickr
July 15, 20168 yr Author 2nd Official test (1st video though) Go-Kart being guided by belt drive and magnets! IMG_5762[1] by Dario, on Flickr
July 15, 20168 yr That's one of the coolest things I've seen. I love automation when it comes to Lego.
July 15, 20168 yr Brilliant!. Newcomer to the thread and all the while I was reading I was wondering if you could mount a magnet strong enough to pull through the base plates but it looks like you have. TYhis is awesome.
July 18, 20168 yr Wow. I thought this was awesome when it was just really well built go-carts. This is next-level stuff right here!
