mandylion7 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) I am relatively new here so I shall start by showing off my latest model that's actually finished. I really like this car so I had to make it and I posted it on LEGO IDEAS so if you like the model please support it Original colors and removable stiff roof can be replaced by imitation of folded convertible roof I photoshopped it here by changing the colour to preferable medium azure. engine and it can be easily removed trunk with a suitcase with clothes and a spare tire and everything opened Edited January 27, 2016 by mandylion7 Quote
tibivi Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 i saw this already on flickr and i think it's awesome, very colorful and very cool modularity with the engine and roof types. Also all those details like the spare wheel and gearshifter are nice touches Quote
skriblez Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I want that blue/green/teal one :D Very nice work :) Quote
brunojj1 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 It looks cute, kind of unreal, first I thought it is just digital... Great art, especially the engine! Quote
mandylion7 Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 Also all those details like the spare wheel and gearshifter are nice touches Hey thanx a bunch. Not a lot of people noticed the gearshifter/crowbar. Much appreciated. Quote

Danz16650 Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 It looks beautiful! Such a shame it didn't make it on Ideas... Is there any way we can get instructions for it now that it isn't on Ideas? Quote
1gor Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 (edited) Vibor, your version of Karman Ghia is very nice, but IMHO your model is more suited to scale modeling subtheme Edited June 28, 2017 by I_Igor Smartphone outsmarted me...but not for long Quote

Really surprised this didn't go the distance also, it deserves to have done. It's a beautiful build that I can see in the shops and selling well. 31 minutes ago, I_Igor said: Vibor, your version of Karman Ghia is very nice, but IMHO your model is more suited to scale modeling subtheme Agreed. You can see for yourself that builder was not active on EB for 3 months. In that case, it is better to try to find him on Ideas, Flickr etc, instead of bumping old topic. Thanks. Quote
Erik Leppen Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 That said, this car deserves to be bumped, because it's awesome! I don't know the original/reference, but I love all the curves on it. It all flows very smooth. Clever part usage on the wheel arches. I also think this would fit great in the Scale Modeling board. Quote

I agree, this thread deserves to be bumped, because it is a great model! I just noticed, the gearshift is a sausage, and the door handles are pistols and the exhaust is flick-fire missiles. Very creative use of parts. I realize the original poster has not been here for some time, but this model is still very clever! Andy D Edited June 30, 2017 by Andy D Quote
mandylion7 Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 First of all. Sorry for not being active here. I will be more active this year. Thanx all for liking my model. Yes, it didn't make it in the LEGO IDEAS although it would've been a great addition to the existing lineup of VW cars LEGO turned into models but what the heck. Andy - Gearshift is not a sausage, it's a minifig crowbar Quote
1gor Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 (edited) Vib, perhaps with this tires https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=30699&idColor=11#T=C&C=11 VW Karman Ghia would look even better Edited January 3, 2018 by I_Igor Quote
