8BrickMario Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 While we don't have any 2017 rumors...yet...it seems that there are quite a handful of new pieces that suggest a hospital theme or modular building. Now we have crutches, a head bandage, a wheelchair, and a baby, so it seems logical that they might all show up in a medical environment in the future. We're long overdue for a proper hospital in any form, so these new parts seem to be hinting toward something... Thoughts? Quote
BlockLogo Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I thought there would be a tv station sub theme this year because of the TV copter in the City Square set and the broadcast antenna in one of the fire sets. There wasn't. Those new pieces or builds can seem like hints but it prolly doesn't mean anything. Quote

I'm not quite sure that compares, as no new molds were present that indicated something related, and a theme would be difficult to construct around the idea. Quote
Robert8 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) (And the S6 surgeon hairpiece) I hope you're right! The last Hospital was terrible. A proper hospital theme would be amazing Maybe each set in the line could be a part of the Hospital (maternity guard, ER, intensive care unit, pharmacy, ....) and you have to get them all to build a huge hospital Edited January 29, 2016 by Robert8 Quote

Hopefully Lego is going to have a whole medical sub theme! Quote
Jern92 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Even if there were a hospital, judging by the current trend of decreasing sizes, we'd probably get a little clinic, or a hospital of similar design to the past Fire Stations and Police Stations. Unless they were to make it a modular, but that doesn't seem likely because there wouldn't be enough space for everything you'd typically find in a hospital. Gone are the days where we get large sets, unless it's something like the Helicarrier or the Ghostbusters Headquarters. Quote
Fightingswords Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Also 10738 junior friends hospital has a stethoscope, medical chart and other medical tools. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 If it was produced in modular form, you would probably get a doctor's office. The bottom floor would be the waiting room and the office, and perhaps upstairs would be the doctor's residence. Since the modular theme is much more detail oriented on the inside, I could see them doing that with a two story structure. Quote
Blue_Bird Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I love that idea. Hopefully Lego is going to have a whole medical sub theme! That would be amazing! Quote
ritzcrackerman Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I love that idea. Hopefully Lego is going to have a whole medical sub theme! This would be far preferable to other recent lame city themes (Arctic, Volcano explorers - wtf??) Quote
gunm Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Lego Modular Hospital sounds like a fun idea, I like it! Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 An important building which i am sure It is in LEGO list for the coming Modular Quote

Bricknblue Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Was the last hospital the one on a hill? I think it would be safe to say we will sometime soon. i think the wheelchair was made for Professor X, but it would only make sense to have it next year in a hospital sub theme. Quote
Koori Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) The last hospital set that came out was in 2012, I've not seen another one since. It was more like a clinic but I used it and it fits in okay but it was retired some time ago so I'd say Legos due to release a new one soon. Edited January 31, 2016 by Koori Quote
wooootles Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I've always thought that CITY is due for a big hospital (the level of the $100USD Fire/Police sets) but recently I think the Friends line is more likely to pick up that line. Let's be honest, the January sets will be something like an obscure Fire/Police line (like the swamp sets) Quote
Koori Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 It seems the friends range has taken over the medical/vet area of late, which is not so bad. I mean the buildings in that range can be adapted but I hope there will be a city hospital as the figures would fit in better. Quote
temes Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I don't know how well hospital would fit to the modular series, because usually hospitals are large and separate buildings. Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) As for Modular Building, i have a feeling that the next Modular will be one of these: - Hospital/Treatment Center/Clinic - Library - Museum. Hope So! I don't know how well hospital would fit to the modular series, because usually hospitals are large and separate buildings. You might be right. it doesn't have to be a Hospital. Maybe something like : Clinic or a Center Edited February 4, 2016 by VintageLegoEra Quote
wooootles Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I don't know how well hospital would fit to the modular series, because usually hospitals are large and separate buildings. Agreed, but a clinic/drug store combo might work. Has there been a drug store in LEGO form lately? Quote
Japanbuilder Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I would settle for a clinic! But a hospital released in parts that you could expand as a series in a line would be much more to my liking. Like getting the vehicle storage/deployment area in one set. Then getting the reception/triage area in another set. Wards and Staffers for said wards in the next etc. Though I can see arguments from many folks against this specially from LEGO itself. Plus I grant that intrinsically that is what LEGO allows for now, but an actual official mega set that came in portions would be cool and allow LEGO to deliver the set people envision. It also strikes me as a good compromise between cost and the actual vision of a hospital most people who would buy the series expect. I mean I do agree a city hospital is a HUGE structure and that should be reflected in some way and an official set that approximated its importance would be very welcome! Quote
Balhu Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 We are overdue on a new hospital/clinic/insert medical building here. However, I don't know if it would be modular. Lego sets are getting smaller. Quote
fordtruckin Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 With all of the medical stuff Lego is coming out with it wouldn't be too difficult to modify the new fire station with the revolving door into a decent hospital. I might have to do that if we don't get a good hospital from Lego before they retire the newest fire station. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I'd love to see a hospital or clinic in modular form. Quote
