sam89 Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 no way of getting Racer X except with the truck. i hope it has a lot of useful parts. Racer X comes in this set as well: Quote
adik_sa_lego Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Racer X comes in this set as well: thanks for the heads up! now thats more like it :-D Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Maybe the girl's hair is a new mold. Cate Blanchett's character in the new Indiana Jones 4 temple set seems to have it too. Quote
Squeaker Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 I'm surprised no one has yet noticed the new fenders! They look pretty useful. What the heck was LEGO thinking with Speed's helmet? It should be a white printed aviator's helmet w/ clear visor! Quote
Dino_Bot Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! OH MY GODDD!!!! Not only is this my second most awaited film for next year, but...That Mach Five looks freaking lovely. And Racer X's vehicle is also lovely. Mesa wants, mesa gets. Quote
yellost Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 wow they've got some really cool car design there... I'm not sure about the film, since I don't know squat about speed racer (but I am a huge fan of the Wachowsky brothers, do that counts for sth :-P ) but I really like the way they did those cars. LEGO Maniac JEM Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Tks plenty Legomilk :'-) One question though: is that a new part on the Racer X car: look at the engine side pipes 8- Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Once again, thanks for the new pics Steff, it look quite good, the new sets! Quote
xwingyoda Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Tks Steff for that pic !! I didn't realise that this line was pretty cheap for a licensed line 8- Quote
Imperial13 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Why is there Carrera track on the front page? Quote
Belloq Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Those are some pretty good looking prelim pictures. I'm sure a few more changes will be made though, but the overall look of the line is pretty cool. Quote
PaulC Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I'm quite excited by the new movie, and I love these sets! I'm probably just going to get the two smaller sets so that I've got one each of the main cars. There are whole load of new parts which show some excellent MOC potential, as mentioned before: New curved windscreen New mudguards New engine pipes And also there appears to be a new curved slope, like this piece only 4 long instead of 3. Quote
Shadows Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Why did I even open this thread? LEGO is trying to kill me by releasing great set after great set, I know it ... :'-( Thanks to everyone for all the pics! *y* Looks like a bunch of winners except for that red truck, and I'll look for it to make clearance so I can complete the whole theme. Probably a one shot thing, I'd guess, just a few sets and never to be seen again, so it won't be that devastating, though I'll want extras of some of the figures. And a reddish brown monkey. *sigh* Quote
adik_sa_lego Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 i hope the price increase here in the philippines won't be much. speed racer was pretty popular back then.. Quote
jp-30 Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Ooh, that new windscreen piece is just what Luke's Landspeeder needs! :) Quote
the enigma that is badger Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I'm not much of a car fan, but it looks like the racers will have some great new torso designs (Racer X in particular). I'll undoubtedly be picking up some of the smaller sets for a few of the newer elements and minifigs. badger Quote
KimT Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 [crawls out from under a rock] What the heck?!? Who kept this new theme a secret to me? Why have I NOT been informed of this? [looks angrily around] Anyways..this new theme looks cool and I can't wait to get my hands on the instructions for 8161 Grand Prix - must mod the white racer into regular F1 racers X-D Also I think that 8158 and 8159 are pretty cool sets, though somewhat overpriced. The truck can take it's missile launching action and get the diddeli out of town. KimT PS Why is there a monkey at the Grand Prix? Quote
Wout Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 and I read something there even was already a monkey in the old series. He Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Blimey, that windscreen looks like such a beauty *wub* I cant wait to get my hands on one of these sets, im thinking Ill probably get the set with 2 cars, just to get a pair of the windscreens, and look great for parts, but as for the rest, I'll see if the minifigures and parts are worth it once I see reviews or pictures ;-) Quote
cHecHe Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 8158 Speed Racer & Snake Oiler 8159 Racer X & Taejo Togokhan Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Damn, I just noticed the new pics !! I just hate having all MOCS in specific forums because I easilly loose track of the important stuff |-/ Anyhow, tks cHecHe for the new pics ;-) Its great to have pics of the rear of the vehicles !! That is such a great line after all except the sticker bonanza :-X I can't wxait to have those sets !! I really want to see better pics of that finish line big set with those supped up cars ;-) *yoda* Quote
Batbrick Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I must get that Snake Oiler and racer X set, for those cool slopes in cool colours *wub* Those windscreens and new rims are great too. Batbrick Something! *wacko* Quote
