Doge Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I have to agree with your logic, after 10244 the fairground mixer and 10247 the ferris wheel it would be unlogical if there won't be a new set this year. The theme is a perfect fit for both younger Lego fair fans as older AFOLS. It matches perfectly with the Modular theme, both scales are based on the minifigures. The possibilities would be endless, just take a peek on this site http://l-rides.com/ were a real professional Lego builder makes funfair rides ;) Quote
Gongoro73 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 It will be a huge disappointment if they don't release anything new this year. Quote
pyro690 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Was hoping the Friends coaster would be better/bigger to add to the fairground sets. A bumper car set would be easy enough for them to put out, they could use #30303 Joker Bumper Car. I have a MOC I'm working on now of that with about 95% of the pieces off of the PAB wall from my last 2 Store visits. Quote
BlockLogo Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Like I said, I read a rumor that the new set will be a new carousel. Quote
Doge Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Could you tell some more about the place where you read that? Would love to see it :D Quote
BlockLogo Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 IIRC it was Ghostmind on NeoGaf who simply stated something about the Mixer going OOP and being replaced by a new Carousel, and either the Opera House or Tower Bridge going OOP to be replaced by Big Ben. That was all that was said, but it was said as if it were news, not a rumor. Quote
Doge Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Thanks for the tip, found it! http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=198705301&postcount=5127 Now the hardest choice, to be or not to be collecting the fun fair sets... What do you guys think? Will it become as popular and wanted as the Modular series? Quote
Gongoro73 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Don't know if they will be so popular, I don't think so, but they are great sets, specially the Ferris Wheel. Quote
BlockLogo Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I have no real interest in the mixer but might be tempted to buy one for completionist sake. I love the Ferris wheel. I'd probably love a carousel designed by JB. Quote
ncx Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 I have no real interest in the mixer but might be tempted to buy one for completionist sake. I love the Ferris wheel. I'd probably love a carousel designed by JB. Was the Ferris Wheel designed by someone different than the one that designed the Mixer? I have both but the Ferris Wheel is by far my favorite. Its a little big but it fits snugly on my shelf with my modulars Quote

I'm probably going to base mine off of that. I'd be curious to see what you come up with as well. Maybe someday we'll get a proper bumper car set, too. Seems like a natural. Quote
Doge Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Maybe its me, but alot of people of my generation played Rollercoaster Tycoon, an old pc game which was about making a fairground park It's kinda like Lego 10196, the Grand Carousel, which is only a 6 years old and already around 3k Euro for a NIB, is there a reason it got so expensive and wanted? BlockLogo Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Was the Ferris Wheel designed by someone different than the one that designed the Mixer? I have both but the Ferris Wheel is by far my favorite. Its a little big but it fits snugly on my shelf with my modulars I think both were designed by Creator Expert design lead Jamie Berard, same designer for most of the modulars (not the Palace Cinema) and the Creator landmarks (Tower Bridge, Opera House). He designed a bunch of fairground MOCs as an AFOL before getting a job as a Lego designer. It's kinda like Lego 10196, the Grand Carousel, which is only a 6 years old and already around 3k Euro for a NIB, is there a reason it got so expensive and wanted? Probably because it's such a unique, collectible, big set that had a limited production run and uses a bunch of elements that are rare or exclusive. Quote
BlockLogo Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 We know that 10251 is the Brick Bank, and that 10253 is the Big Ben. 10254 is probably the next winter village entry. That leaves 10252. Last year we had 4 Creator Expert sets, Detective's Office, Ferris Wheel, Ferrari, and Toy Shop. No landmark set. I'm hoping 10252 is a new fairground set. 10251 Expert Confidential 1 (Modular?) 10252 Confidential Expert 2 2016 10253 Confidential Expert 3 2016 10254 Confidential Expert 4 2016 Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Oh, thanks for posting that, I forgot I had that done - 10251 Brick Bank 10252 10253 Big Ben 10254 ??? Quote
BlockLogo Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Oh, thanks for posting that, I forgot I had that done - I was hoping you'd do another search and that something new came up, but no such luck apparently....... Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I was hoping you'd do another search and that something new came up, but no such luck apparently....... After we got allll those names they took those down, so no more of that for a while. Quote
Sarah Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Like I said, I read a rumor that the new set will be a new carousel. That would be nice. Its my daughter's favorite ride and I almost bought the Christmas set just for the tiny carousel in it. Quote
Bricknblue Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Oh, thanks for posting that, I forgot I had that done - 10251 Brick Bank 10252 10253 Big Ben 10254 ??? 10254 is most likely the rumored new Christmas / Holiday train. Quote
BlockLogo Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Yeah, that's what I said, this year's Winter Village set. Quote
pyro690 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 41133 will be a Friends Bumper Car set. I'm probably going to base mine off of that. I'd be curious to see what you come up with as well. Maybe someday we'll get a proper bumper car set, too. Seems like a natural. Well, crap then. Quote
mattyman Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 so fairground is off if Beetle is on - right? Quote
Bricknblue Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 so fairground is off if Beetle is on - right? My guess would be yes. LEGO might not want to release a Creator Amusement Park set when they are trying to sell the Friends line. Quote
Doge Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Maybe, the rumours started on the first of april, but the confusing part is that the Disney figures are already confirmed. Brickset has also adopted the rumor in their database. Still there will be 4 expert creator sets in 2016: 10251 Expert Confidential 1 - Brick Bank 10252 Confidential Expert 2 - Volkwagen Beetle (?) 10253 Confidential Expert 3 - Big Ben 10254 Confidential Expert 4 - Christmas set? So there still might be a small chance it will be either 10252 or 10254, but the chances keeps getting slimmer... Quote
BlockLogo Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I guess a fairground set is off if we're getting another car model. I didn't take the Beetle rumor seriously since it was floated on April 1st and there has already been one... Quote
