Capt Wolf Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 This is my third free build of the month, so approvals and critiques are most welcome. Samuel Amwell’s family have been brewers for generations, but Samuel is the first of his family to leave the mainland and move to the islands. In Weelond on the island of An Holli, Samuel has opened the Weelond Brewing Company. The tropical setting is perfect for growing the sugarcane necessary for distilling rum, and the ingredients for his family’s ale are also plentiful. Samuel works diligently to make sure his rum and ale are the best in the islands, and Eslandolan sailors near and far are quickly becoming familiar with WBC beverages. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Great MOC, I like this very much. Pity, I cannot approve - I hope the others will do so. Quote
TitusV Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I like the outside and the roof, but the best part is the interior! Great job! Quote
Elostirion Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Great interior, and the exterior fits perfectly. Just keep it up. Quote
Tomsche Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Great looking build, I like the vats and the kettle Quote
Sir Stig Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Yes! This is my cup of tea (with rum). Dark red is always nice. You make the dark and light greys work together. Vats, kettle and fireplace is prima. You obviosly now the process ;) The only minor thing you perhaps could have changed is having the finished barrels lie down, and either have a tap in them or add a few bottles. Deserves approvals. blackdeathgr Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 And an approval from me too! Color choice of the exterior is superb and the interior is top quality! Especially the... (pot?)! Now make some arrows with the names of each machinery/part used in making brew so that we too can learn! Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Yes the first brewery in Eslandola ! Good use of dark red bricks ! Perhaps a bit too 19e century. The inside is great ! Good job ! Too bad I cannot approve it deserves it ! Quote
kabel Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Aye, brewing some decent beer is always a move the German in me appreciates tremendously! I also like your work with the dark red bricks, I think it came out rather great. BTW, do you keep all these nice building together so that in the end you have an entire city? Quote
Captain Genaro Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 A very nice brewery indeed. I am not too familiar with the distilling and brewing processes, but it looks good to me. The exterior is also well done, especially the area around the chimney. Approved . Quote
Vedauwoo Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Very nice! Cool floor tile as well! Approved Quote
Capt Wolf Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Thanks to everyone for all the comments. The only minor thing you perhaps could have changed is having the finished barrels lie down, and either have a tap in them. Yep, you're right. Not sure why I have the barrels standing up. Now make some arrows with the names of each machinery/part used in making brew so that we too can learn! I wish I could! I worked from a couple of illustrations and just threw a bunch of parts together, but I really don't have a grasp of exactly what each part is. BTW, do you keep all these nice building together so that in the end you have an entire city? I'm trying to, but a couple of my buildings are missing roofs or floorboards they had a couple of weeks ago. And if I do many more, I'm either going to have to start spending a lot more on bricklink or tearing some of these down. Quote
Bregir Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 We are seeing such a great amount of these specialised craftsmen buildings. Both interior and exterior is great, and I like how he is stirring in the brew with an oar. Well done and definitely approved! Quote
Darkdragon Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 The building style is perfect to my eye and the interior is wonderful, it just needs a dock (so the pirates can visit!). Quote
Captain Dee Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Lovely brewery! I like the building style and colors (dark red especially) and the open-back design is really good. The oven and chimney are nice, and the interior details are pretty good as well. It's another fine addition to the growing list of operations. I approve. Quote
Ayrlego Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 An excellent build both interior and exterior. The dark red looks great and I like the way you have blended the light bley highlights on the exterior. A definite approval from me!! Quote
Kai NRG Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Superb choice of colors! Very nice interior as well! Quote
Garmadon Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Another great building Capt. Wolf, excellent choice of colors, the roof's shape and chimney are very nice details on the exterior, and the interior is great as well! Definitely approved from me! Quote
Gideon Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Excellent exterior, I like the dark red+lbg combination and the level of texturing on the walls Nice interior details as well! Quote
BrickOn Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Great build, looks like he's making a fantastic brew and everything is clean and spotless as it needs to be... He might be a little ambitious to be distilling rum with that equipment though ;-) (but since I've never attempted distillation myself, maybe I am wrong). Approved Quote
Sir Stig Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 (edited) Great build, looks like he's making a fantastic brew and everything is clean and spotless as it needs to be... He might be a little ambitious to be distilling rum with that equipment though ;-) (but since I've never attempted distillation myself, maybe I am wrong). Approved Nah, seems legit (not exactly legit where I come from). What you need is mostly there. Vats to dissolve the sugars, fermentation and destillation. No filtration though, so it would be closer to cachaca than rum tastewise. Muddle with lime and sugar, and add crushed ice, and you have something quite drinkable.
