Siegfried Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 We already have an application for one and it will tentatively run this month, is it okay if you are scheduled further out? I can't see a problem with that. My MOC might take some time to make anyway. :-P
jifel Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 (edited) Yes. I was planning on making one anyway. It has been a while since we did a Mecha contest and we have a lot of new members who I think would be interested in this. thanks, and what you said sounds good, but by mini-fig size it could be the size of the little cd player thing that hacked into the computers(mini-con size) or large, oh, and only one entry jifel Edited November 5, 2007 by jifel

It is your contest after all. ;-)
Hinckley Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 thanks, and what you said sounds good, but by mini-fig size it could be the size of the little cd player thing that hacked into the computers(mini-con size) or large... What does this mean? Sorry, I can't seem to make any sense of it and I've really tried. :-$ I think what Sinner meant was that the mechs should be mini-fig scale, meaning a mini-fig could pilot one, no microscale or technic (maxi-fig) scale. Not homemaker maxi-fig :-D :-D :-D Well, a gylman piloted mech would be cool...anyway, I feel I'm babbling now. I suppose if you want the CD player thing that hacked into your computer to pilot the mech that would be cool, but I suggest the contest uses only LEGO elements.

I think he meant a robot the size of a minifig-sized stereo like the Decepticon that hacked into the US army computers in the movie: (the one in the rear, about 1,5 meters high in robot format) He could transform into a robot the size of a human (so minifig-size here). Hinckley Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 :-D :-D :-D Thanks LuxorV! For some reason I thought he was saying something hacked into his computer... Guess I need to watch that movie. :-$

Hinckley Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Since contests are now being scheduled, we will only schedule one per member at a time. That way everyone has a fair chance to get their contest up and running. With that in mind, ~VBBN~, which of the two contests you submitted would you rather run first?

I am not yet ready for SigFig Vig yet. Gotta work on that banner still :-/ . ~VBBN~
Athos Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Maybe there is a better way to organize this rather than having a single (soon to be massive) thread for contest requests. I have two ideas: (1) have a contest admin who can field PM'd requests and schedule contests; or (2) start a contest request sub-forum. Personally, I prefer the former... Steve

I have had a ton of contests in the past. Module City Contest Cafe' Extension Happy Halloween Lord of the rings(TBC...) Or (3), have a forum for contests only, to cause less confusion. That'll save lots of pinning topics!
Vader Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Yeah. I have had a ton of contests in the past. Yeah and that's the reason why we've had to start going down this road, talk about over kill.....

Steve Thanks Athos :-) but I think the thread is best, actually. It is easy to reference and easily accessible. I don't see a problem keeping up with it.

Batbrick Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 (edited) Okay, am I allowed to give a request? I was thinking that due to the recent love of post-apoc we've seen latelt, it might be fun to do a competition based on it. I was hoping that it could be lke the sigfig's house comp that isn't restricted by vig space, but other certain rules. So..... Theme of competition: Post-Apoc - create your own post-apoc scene featuring at least 3, and at maximum 6, of the following juicy choices: A dead tree, a tank/defense vehicle, armoured wall, a mutant/s or creature/s, a barbarian faction, a rebel style faction, any other fitting faction, a robot, a natural landscape like a cave or cliff, a spaceship, a building or base (can only have 2 or less) and a dead creature or skeleton. Format: Baseplate of any size up to any size from a 8x8 plate to a 48x48 plate. Only slight overlap, if any, and other details apart from ones above can be included, but scene must revolve around choices above. Length: 6 or 7 weeks, depends on the amount of contestants interested, and deadline can be extended if necessary. Voting 2 weeks or a bit more perhaps. Forum: Your own creations Prize- bragging power, since I can't really give much, you could be in some of my MOC as a character though, or maybe get a title or avatar if an admin is kind enough. Really its for fun so who cares about the prize? (says all the losers anyway! :-D ) Thats it I guess, hope thats okay! :-$ Batbrick-liks-post-apoc Away! >:-) Edited November 18, 2007 by Batbrick
