Mr Spielbrick Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 After a break of almost FIVE years, it was a Castle set that finally managed to make me buy Lego again. For at the end of 2002, I started wondering if I was getting too old for Lego. I stopped buying the sets and didn't care much for the little bricks anymore. It took me five years, but I found out what you already know: Lego is (whatever the boxes might say) for all ages! After barely resisting the huge temptation of the Batman line, I finally succumbed to the enchantment of the brilliant new skeleton minifigs. Envisioning a cool fantasy animation short, I gathered my courage and stepped into the toystore. There it was... Lego Castle 7090... A tiny box with two crown warriors, a catapult, and an evil skeleton astride a skeletal horse. The price was the final nudge: only E 4,75! Since that small step back into My Life With Lego, I check a variety of Lego sites every day. I've also bought the new Star Wars X-wing. The complete collection of Batman magnet sets and the set with young Anakin, Darth Maul and the Naboo pilot are on their way from LegoShop.com. I've been working on a script for a fantasy short that combines the highlights (to me) of these sets and those of my older stuff into a hopefully original brickflick. The red dragon set and several Harry Potter sets are getting me excited all over again... I am at last back in the Land of Lego, and it feels like coming home! Quote

Shadows Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 You have taken the first step into a much larger world! Sometimes that first trip out of the dark ages is a false start, and you drift back into the darkness. If you feel that happening, come here, into the warm embrace of the brick, and we will save you. Welcome back, friend, welcome back to the land that will always be, LEGOland. *y* Quote
Jipay Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Welcome in here, hope you'll feel like being at home :-) Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 *feels all loved (well, 'liked' might sound cooler) and at home* Quotes from Star Wars and assurances that you'll help me stay in the light are very kind! I hope to be around here quite long. :-) And Lt. Col. Thok: I wandered into the Dark Ages partially because of my father, so don't let your parents be too influential in your Legolife! Some parents, misguided they are... *vader* Let them misguide you, do not! *yoda* Quote
