phoinix Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 well it sure does look big and impressive! i really like the small craft on its own. but the huge drilling thing is not all that cute. and what are the city and indy containers doing in space? wouldnt they be outdated by then? it looks like a fantastic toy. just not lego-ish enough the mars mission has come a long way this year and the sets are so much better i was really hoping for a new base or even an alien base! well we will have to wait until next year. im sure the line will continue. The Rancor Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 (edited) Thanks for those mouth-watering pics whung!!! It's a shame that the drilling tower looks ugly without the cockpit though Edited May 9, 2008 by The Rancor Quote
Hinckley Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Probably is the latest 2008 hidden set of Mars Mission series7649 MT-201 Ultra-Drill Walker Limited Edition Whung, can you tell me when this will be released? Thanks. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Some nice sets in my opinion, not as good as the classic ones in my opninon, but I do look forward to reading the reviews of them soon! Quote
Tohst Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 This one really looks like it was designed to be either exo-force or MM, depending what the retailer was more interested in. Since it is now EX-oforce, Mars Mission it is. -Tohst Quote
xenologer Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 (edited) NICE! Finally an Actual Mining Vehicle in MM and for the more bloodthirsty fans, it turns into a scarab tank. The cargo boxes are nice too, seeing as how the other MM sets kinda neglected the idea of actually transporting the mined crystals... I see what ya mean about it being either an EF or MM set. Look really closely at the alien flyer, see the Drone face in the nose? Also, look really closely at that tiny 'scooter', do you see what I see? a nod to classic space? Zarkan Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Oh man, I'm in love with this exclusive! Detailed design with lots of features, airtight cockpit, removeable transport ship, lots of great pieces - man, so cool! Yeah, Mars Mission has improved so much from it's first year, which still had some great stuff (the landing craft, the small fighter, the shuttle in the base, and the giant tank rover come to mind). Now we have alien ships that don't look all alike and alien minfigs with ARMS! If this is the last year of MM, it's sure going out with a bang! Quote
Siegfried Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Probably is the latest 2008 hidden set of Mars Mission series Oh my! I think I just wet myself! I think Mars Mission is shaping up to be my favourte theme ever. That set is so cool! Quote
Algernon Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Man, I'm even more excited about that walker than I am about the other MM sets coming out this year. Quote
Batbrick Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Oh my! I think I just wet myself! I think Mars Mission is shaping up to be my favourte theme ever. That set is so cool! We'll atleast I'm not the only one I'd agree there, MM is shaping up to be agreat theme fro me and worthy of the "Spoce" Title, at this rate I hope it continues to next year, 2008 is TOO good! Batbrick Away! Quote
Algernon Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I don't know about you guys, but this walker seems to fit the theme very well... it's mechanical, bulky, and it looks capable of heavy-duty mining. Quote
ultraman_bc Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I know this set will be coming out in August in Singapore with a special price of SGD99.90, (about US$74). Last year, we got the Drilling tank at about the same time as Europe and US, so I guess it will probably be an august release for US and Europe too. Quote
Siegfried Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 We'll atleast I'm not the only one I hope you are talking about the favourite theme part... EDIT: They are on the S@H site for Australia. 7644 MX-81 Hypersonic Operations Aircraft $130 AUD 7645 MT-61 Crystal Reaper $80 AUD 7645 is a surprisingly good deal! Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 (edited) 7646 is available too: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...cn=474&d=70 I don't know why, but I think that's mistake since those three sets are supposed to be available in august. So it's better to order them as soon as possible... Edited May 12, 2008 by Lego-Freak Quote
The Rancor Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 (edited) ALL the Mars Mission sets except the Exclusive Mining spider thing are available: #7644 Hypersonic Operations Craft £54.99 (Lego don't often use that price) #7645 Crystal Reaper £39.99 (quite expensive, may be bigger than we think) #7646 Alien Infiltrator £19.99 (ok price for an ok set) I would advise to Star Wars fans to still keep some money for the other sets I'm gonna be bankrupt Edited May 12, 2008 by The Rancor Quote
The Rancor Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I'm waiting for the Ultra-Drill Walker. Do you like Star Wars Algernon? Or is it just some of the best of Lego Space : Mars Mission? Quote
Algernon Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Yes, I like Star-Wars, but I like LEGO Space better and I want to encourage LEGO to make more original space sets. I will be getting some of the Star Wars sets this summer though (I have a job). Probably the AT-TE. Quote

EDIT: They are on the S@H site for Australia. 7644 MX-81 Hypersonic Operations Aircraft $130 AUD 7645 MT-61 Crystal Reaper $80 AUD 7645 is a surprisingly good deal! THANKYOU! Yes, the Crystal Reaper is an amazing deal for me, I was really hoping to get that one, and was expecting a minimum price of $100, but this is great! Batbrick Away! Quote
Algernon Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 THANKYOU! Yes, the Crystal Reaper is an amazing deal for me, I was really hoping to get that one, and was expecting a minimum price of $100, but this is great! Batbrick Away! $100??? If it was $100, I'd be convinced that LEGO is doing everything it can to keep Mars Mission from succeeding. Quote
Batbrick Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 $100???If it was $100, I'd be convinced that LEGO is doing everything it can to keep Mars Mission from succeeding. Er....100 dollars AU my friend, where do you live? Batbrick Away! Quote
Deinonychus Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Wow, Australia, UK...so much for that old whine about the US getting everything first This is great though, it means summer sets are just around the corner. And with all these large sets it'll really increase parts stocks for when I (or any of us) are MOCing stuff in-theme. I'm eager to get cracking on some original alien ships myself Quote
Algernon Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 You're going to try to design an alien ship that doesn't suck? Good luck. Not even LEGO can manage that. Quote
