Typically used for hull repairs to capital ships around asteroid fields, but deployed against the Zoid fleet on F03 to secure safe passage for humanoid prisoners on board. Because Zoids can survive the vacuum of space, they are known to kill prisoners by exposure when attacked. [O - F03] Zoid Slaver Over Forring - Mech by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr C&C appreciated Quote
SpacerSteve Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 The hull splicer is wonderful. Very industrial looking. I really like the top hatch. I haven't seen on of those in a while. The hull of the ship has some great details too. You build has a nice weightless look to it. Quote
Zaael Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Awesome build! The Mech turned out very cool and indeed industrial looking, allthough it also made me think of the Amulet book 6 kind of mechs as well. All in all a good job! Quote
Orange Leader Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Excellent work on the mech! Your photography looks splendid. Quote
LucasLaughing Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Wow, a pair of beautiful builds this week. I really like the center antenna portion on the top of the ship - great job integrating the round pieces into the hull. That mech is a beast - really great job getting the industrial feel and making the greebles look functional. My only suggestion would be maybe some more greebles on the mech's "head." I think maybe some bars as handles next to the hatch and some lights near the front window might tie the top into the body a little more. Those are just minor details though - this is awesome overall! Quote
Big Sal Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Nice ship, but the mech is something else! Would be terrifying to have that thing on your hull - great job! Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Oh wow! Our stories this week mesh together perfectly! Totally unplanned. (Here's a link to mine) Quote
goatman461 Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 Thanks everybody. @Lucas - I prefer the smoothness in the front of the cockpit to contrast the greebling, but after looking at it, I think I should have added some detail between the back shoulder blades. @MKJ - I actually read yours and EEs from last week (?) and thought I'd add that little dig @Z - I couldn't find those mechs, can you post some links? Kodan Black Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 The hull splicer and capital ship are both great. I too wish there were floodlights on the mech to give it a more industrial feel, but that is merely a cherry on the grand sundae you built. Nice story too. Quote
